Every time I see codes posted from DS without any actual deals, it just spam advertising.

    So where are the bargains?

    • +1

      They are INSIDE THE COMPUTER?!?

      • +1

        They hiding under the PSU?

    • I grabbed the ASUS T100 for $331.75

  • What's the likelihood of a 15% off code showing up again?

    • +1

Once every month or so (3 weeks according to previous post)

Why bother, Dick just jacks up the prices. I bought a TV a couple of days ago for $378 with no discount, but today it is $439 before discount. After discount it costs MORE. Just scammers.

    • So is the current Dick price on the Galaxy Note 4 a deal ($727) ?

      • $727 has been around for months. Last week DSE was selling for $699. So, at least, for the last month the best price is $699.

I was thinking about to get one, but somehow found out the one selling in OZ is only quad cores instead of octo cores overseas, so still thinking about it.

        • I also went to Telstra yesterday over $900, told them the DSE price and there was no attempt to make a deal. Where has competition gone ?

        • @freesteakknives:

Because Telstra is not competing with retail. It is around the similar price with Optus or Vodafone.

          Sigh.

        • @netbies:

Bit the bullet yesterday on the Note 4
And today I see a post for the Note 3… for $485
Damn - that would have been good enough.

Well that's fantastic….was just going to grab the 39.5" DS TV for $282 but when I went back to do it they removed the original discount.

And the wait continues for a cheap 40"-50" TV. It seems like I have missed all the good deals.

Paid $279.65 for it on eBay in may with the 15% off. Base price is $10 lower now so keep an eye out.
Picture is great, off axis is marginal at best, sound is just crap but i use an old stereo with it so all up it is amazing for the $. Has stereo RCA out so very easy to use with an external stereo, tho i am running from PC

      • Thanks for the reply. I've basically got it narrowed down to a DS or Changhong, I had a play with them both in store and was pretty happy with the quality vs price comparison.

Going to grab a cheap soundbar to add to it so the sound isn't really an issue. Just a matter of waiting on a good price again.

Thanks for sharing your experience. That is a good one !

      • i went into DS about a week ago to get a keyboard. It was cheaper at MSY and office works. They said they didn't price match those stores.

These jokers shouldn't bother offering price match. It saves people wasting their time going to DS in the first place.

        • call their head office, threaten to go to fair trading if you must- if they say they match, they match. Officeworks has regularly had managers pull the same crap.

    • Happened to me too. They just refunded my order without any explanation. The items that i was buying are still in stock (pickup or delivery). Bloody annoying. Yes i could put in the order again but it's just not cool i rather take my business elsewhere

  • bought the seagate 1tb backup plus for $74 pickup. good price!
    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/usb-hard-drives/seagate-backup-p…

  • I tried to purchase the kindle touch 6" with the 'weekend25' code and it said coupon invalid!!

OH well just read the exclusions.

may just pick this up from the BigW sale.

  • 1TB for $74.00 is about the standard price, and infact a few dollars over, but if your happy with the deal, that's all that matters

I rate $70.00 about as high as I would want to pay, considering if I have to carry around a 2.5 inch drive it may as well be a 2TB drive which you can pick up for a tad over $100.00

Storage - one thing you can never have plenty of.

  • Interestingly, in spite of the terms and conditions explicitly excluding Mobile Phones & Pre-paid Broadband Products, it let met apply the WEEKEND25 code to a Telstra PrePaid 4G WiFi MF910, which brings it down to $74. Not that the discounted price comes close to the cheapest it has been, especially with Dick Smith not offering it for Click & Collect, so the total spend delivered would be more than $80.
