  • Great price! Not sure that I'd want a Palit in the high end gear, but nevertheless it's a good price.

Palit vs EVGA for $250 more?

  • Great price, if I was in the market for a new high-end graphics card.

  • +1

Good price, but not too keen on the brand.

shopping for 980ti for sometime now (oz dollar not helping), after 970's defeat on the batman's hands :(

  • +1

Never even heard of this brand… :S

    • +2

dont know why people downvoting you for not hearing of Palit.

      theyve been around since 1988
thailand based i think, but have offices in hong kong, thailand and germany

id probably say card brands look like this

      MSI>Gigabyte/Asus>Palit/Zotac/EVGA/Gainward

      but thats just my opinion.

      • Taiwan based, same as asus, gigabyte and msi.

      • +1

If it were me I would definitely put EVGA before Palit and Zotac

    • I've had a couple of palit cards my gtx680 was a very good card.

    • Palit were one of the best back in the AGP days… that and voodoo

      • <3 Abit (RIP).

        • Aopen motherboards (RIP) Quantum Hard Drives (RIP)

  • +1

Very tempted… except I am in brissie and too tight to pay for postage…

  • but directx 12 results…..

    • what directx 12 games do you need to play? the drivers will be optimized when the games released.

  • +4

Waiting for the MSI 970 to drop a bit in price :(

    • Good card that 970, i5 2500k with gigabyte g1 970 with Witcher 3 @ 1440p ultra setting except draw distance which is on high and nvidia hairworks on low without hairworks AA hovers around 45fps.

      • yeah looks like hte most cost effective upgrade from my 560ti without going overboard on dollars.

      • +1

Wait what? I also have the 2500k and the 970, but I can barely get The Witcher 3 to hit a playable fps @ 1440p even at low.

EDIT: Just had another crack at it and can get it playable at High @ 1440p. Wonder what was going on before. Oh well. Man it looks pretty.

    • This.

Palit have been around for ages. I've used them personally, put them in plenty of computers for others, and found them to be just as reliable as any of the others. I believe they own Gainward and a few other of the cheaper brands, which I have also found to be perfectly fine.

I'm not associated in any way, I've just been building gaming computers for 15 years.

B&H is doing MSI 980 Ti for $974~ with shipping

    Maybe a better choice?

This unknown brand may be around for ages as you said, but you only need to do a search on staticice to see how "unheard of" this brand is. Even MSY and the likes don't carry this brand. Looks like CPL and PLE is the exclusive distributor here. I personally won't spend $900 on this white-label brand.

According to Tom's Hardware, Palit (Who owns Galax, Gainward) has overtaken Asus in the Graphics Card Market share, they share the pie with PC Partner (Who Owns Sapphire, Zotac) pretty impressive.

4th is MSI and 5th is Gigabyte,

    • +3

Surpised Palit are so unheard of, i've known of them for a long time. Think i had an old palit branded 8800gt. You also see them in reviews all the time.

I took the deal, damnit OP! Was hoping I could wait for the next gen cards, but can't pass up this price with a local warranty, and can finally ditch the issues with my current sli rig

  • +1

Seems to have good reviews from the Tech sites I frequent:

    Techpowerup - 9.7
    Guru3D - Top Pick
    Tweaktown - 93%

Anonymous Chinese tablet vs Samsung tablet, both have pretty much same spec. Chinese one may even have better performance, which one you buy ….?
At least the price is very different there, here this card is $900 !!

  • I can see lots of discussion on the brand and I want to chime in. I've got a Palit GTX760 and I think I will avoid them in the future. I'm having what appears to be an intermittent fault which strangely afflicted me a couple of times separated by many months. It involved just hard freezes for a while with nvidia kernel crash recovery messages to eventually giving bios beep codes for not enough power to initialise the GPU. I replaced the PSU and then like 6 months later the exact same thing happened in the same progression. I put it in a different pc and stress tested it while I used an older GPU for my main. I can't reproduce the fault - it's not related to heat or utilisation or memory use although I've been unable to test the entire memory range. Besides, it probably needs another 6 months regular usage or something crazy. So I can't claim warranty because unplugging it and letting it sit for a while seems to stop it happening (but powering off and unplugging the PC overnight never seemed to have the same effect).

I've put it back in my pc and it's working fine again….until it isn't! Driving me crazy.

Who knows what the true problem is but I'm not going Palit again next time just in case.

  • I have this exact card bought from PLE about a month ago… it has been flawless….
ASIC of 63.7% (this is just pot luck but doesnt necessarily effect overclocking)
max overclock on core is 1360mhz which boosts to 1440mhz…. I can push it higher but I get artifacts after 1440mhz…
    memory I hit 8000mhz no problems….

never goes over 72 degrees even during furmark, is cooler and quieter then the MSI twin frozr 980Ti…..

awesome price…. any questions about the card just ask

    • Low ASIC and overclocking on air?? How are they related?

  • -1

Hm. To sell my two reference versions and buy one of these, or not…?

I'm going to downgrade to one 980ti anyway I think.

    • +1

      Worst purchase plan ever.

  • Too bad my case wont fit anything wider than a standard pci slot or I might have traded up for one of these. Would also waste my ability to sli with it being 2.5 slots high.

  • +1

Im telling myself to wait for Fallout 4 to come out….. then 980ti. :)

  • here is a pic of my card and a friends in Sli….. and it works fine… top card temps still dont go over 72 degrees… but as expected the top card fans ramp up a little higher… literally cant hear these cards working untill the fans hit 70% or higher which they never do… for single card it sits around 45% fanspeed at 70 degrees and if it creeps upto 72 degreees the fans go up to around 55% but seriously cannot hear these 100mm fans. (in comparison to my old GTX970 WindForce which was quite loud)
2 way sli is fine… 3way or 4 would def have space issues… but damn these things stay nice and cool.

    • I love those noctua coolers, I've had one on my i7 920 for over 6 years now. Still going strong.

  • +1

@ PLE computers, any chance at another gtx 970 deal? I missed out on the last one.

    • +1

Or maybe a deal on the vanilla GTX 980?

  • I had a Palit 670 card and it was flawless. Overclocked quite well too.

PCCG were stocking palit cards for a while (not sure if they still do)

    • Just searched. Nothing came back.

I am a gamer, but I am not a 'let's go out and spend $900 on a gfx card' gamer.

  • I had a Palit GTX 590, the first one died just under a year in but the second one lasted until I upgraded early this year. I'm probably not going back to Palit any time soon.

  • Can you extend beyond the 24 hours? Need another day to sort out current pc issues.

  • Great price but brand & 2 year warranty turn me away :/

  • Thanks PLE. Any chance of a deal on Synology DS1515+ NAS?

  • +1

Caved. Was going to pick up a Strix from Amazon local deal is too good. Plus this Palit seems to get some pretty good reviews..

  • +1

what if i run this card at 1050p on my 1050p monitor

    • Then you probably just overspent $500

  • mad. code still works
