  • I could only come up with $1800 for 15/12-28/12 from Melb to Vancouver. So I will just need to try more random sates to get lucky?

    • Hi trumpedup,

Did you click the link supplied for Melb to Vancouver flights?
      http://iwantthatflight.com.au/x2MELYVR-Flights-from-Melbourn…

The dates shown on that page are:

Flying China Southern Airlines. Return flights from $1,076
      Dep. Fri 30/Oct/15 Ret. Fri 04/Dec/15 Economy$1,076
      Dep. Fri 06/Nov/15 Ret. Thu 19/Nov/15 Economy$1,076
      Dep. Fri 13/Nov/15 Ret. Thu 26/Nov/15 Economy$1,076
      Dep. Thu 25/Feb/16 Ret. Sat 05/Mar/16 Economy$1,076
      Dep. Fri 13/May/16 Ret. Fri 27/May/16 Economy$1,076

      • Oh I didn't scroll down! Bugger there isn't a convenient date to go.

    • Unfortunately, 28/Dec is probably not going to be included in the sale.

  • +2

Thanks for highlighting the deal but my word, that's a long transit time to get the discount. My test from MEL-YVR on 17/11-09/12 gave me 41 hours one way, including a 20-hour layover.

There were others fares for ~$1300 I'd consider to save that much layover time.

  • How much to change the return flight date if necessary?

    • Do you mean if you book and then later change your mind? If so, you would have to contact China Southern & it would probably depend on the new return date.

    Vancouver return MELB $1076

The Grizzly Bears kill the deal…

    • Maybe. Only 9 votes for this deal, so something is killing it. I thought it might be the eBay deal though, rather than bears.

  • Good price! Only downside is flying China Southern and some massive layovers.

Like someone else said I'd take the $1400 flights with Korean or even (shudder) Delta just to avoid those things.

    • +1

Really? I know China Southern isn't the best airline, but I didn't think it would be worth paying $300 more.

There are $1198 flights on JAL+Qantas - is that better?

      • That's a lot better and what I'm looking at right now.

I've flown all the Chinese airlines before and they've been very hit and miss. I had better flights with Koryo into DPRK.

        • I'll update the deal with options on JAL

  • Getting something weird, clicking on this link.
The first 2 results are exactly the same flight times and layovers but are separated. Also there is no flight times showing for the flight over there on the first result.
Travelgenio have raised the price to $1153/$1162 though when you click through, probably not cheap enough to warrant the 21h layover for me either. Although the link from IWTF wouldn't work at first but managed to do it on the site in the end. :/

    • Hmm - I had the same thing happen with TravelGenio. I will contact them to see what is going on. BestJet offer the same flight for $1109

The first 2 flights seem to be identical, so you are correct that they should be rolled into the one result. I'll check out what is going on there as well.

  • Does anyone know if Helloworld is showing $1180 on JAL, that includes all fees doesn't it?. Says they don't have a booking fee but i don't want to go too far in the process without knowing for sure.

    • Hi HappyChild,

Yes, the price we show includes the Helloworld booking fee.

      • Helloworld don't have a booking fee apparently but was concerned there may be some other charge further along the process that's all. Which is why i was confused when your price was $20 odd higher than helloworld was showing. Thanks.

        • The $20 that we add is the CC fee if you pay by Visa/Mastercard CC (which most people do).

        • @IWantThatFlight: Ah that makes sense now. Thank you.

      • Whats Helloworld?

        • It's a travel agency.

        • The old Jetset Travel and BestFlights.com.au

  • Very few dates to choose from in october :( But a great price! Can you add a stopover for a few days in Japan through this search engine? Thanks!!

  • Hi Rep,
Any good deals to London for the month of September?

    Thanks.

    • Not right now. If something comes up I'll post it here.

  • Went china southern to europe about 2 years ago. Never again. Flights were ok but the airports no thanks

  • The cost for a one way flight to Vancouver from Bris is the same as a return flight! I don't get it :(
