  • Never used uber before just a few questions
    If I get this how long does it last?
    Is it 50 off first ride or just credit overall?

  • I always get "there was a problem signing up" message on uber sign up page. it doesn't really say what's wrong. I tried different email, credit card, phone number. it always the same message.

      Are you a transport inspector ?

      Illegal ride-sharing service UberX outsmarts transport inspectors, disrupting undercover stings

        Oh look, JV is at it again. I usually like your comments, but this constant spam in every Uber thread is tiring.

        Really does make me wonder that you have a vested interest in the taxi industry.

          I was replying to Sharp's comment. Uber are blocking groups of people from using their app… Read the article.

          @jv:

          My point is still the same. In every Uber deal you make some comment about it being illegal (hence the bold in the quote of the article you used).

          Obviously you're either a taxi driver, or someone with a vested interest against Uber. It's painfully obvious.

        • @Porthos:
          I thought they were being sarcastic.

          @Porthos:

          or someone with a vested interest against Uber.

          Vested interest in not supporting deals that are illegal

        • @jv:

          Oh my apologies, if I could be bothered I'd link to every deal you have spread sh*t in, you obviously gave up as everyone was sick of hearing it.

          So if it's so illegal, how is it that it hasn't been shut down then? Why does the premier of WA say that he would have 'no hesitation in using Uber' if it were so illegal?

        • @Porthos:

          You comment above would still be a lie… :)

          So if it's so illegal, how is it that it hasn't been shut down then?

          If it isn't illegal, why are drivers being fined ?

          Not really, I just missed the word 'most'.

          If it isn't illegal, why are drivers being fined ?

          Oh yes, because you have never done anything 'illegal' in your life, have you?

          You do realise how stupid that is don't you? Go back and think about some of the great laws we've had over the years, that nowadays are absolutely laughable.

          The taxi industry either needs to lift their game, or die out. Simple as that, no running to the government for protectionist laws will save them.

  • This is for Perth only

    • thanks - what's the expiry date?

    My wife used Uber the other day . Clean car arrived within minutes and the ride cost half of what a cab normally costs .

  • is it legal in WA?

  • Just tried to register with this code. Received an error message saying that the code has expired because too many people have used it! Ozbargained? :P
