These mechanical timers generate low ticking noises. If you're using in the bedroom overnight, it would be good idea to keep that in mind.

    • I used to worry about this noise, it had an electrical tone to it made me feel it could short in the middle of the night and set fire so avoided using it eventually.

    • Agree. I use electronic timers in the house, and this for garage where I won't hear it.

    • I bought a twin pack.. One ticks quite evidently. The other is silent.

      • Is the other one working then?

        • they both work, just that one is noisy.

The 7-day HPM digital programmable timer is also at a special price ($13.10 CC). Not sure of the RRP. Bought it when it was $23 dollars @ Bunnings.

It's a little tricky to program at first but once you get the hang of it, this is one of the best programmable timers you can buy for under 15. I have this controlling a heater / phone charger and using it as simple countdown timer. Makes no sounds so very good for the bedroom.

    • Seen this one, i find it extremely difficult to play around with the setting.

    • I've got the slim-line version of the HPM digital programmable timer, it is really very good. Programming is not difficult if you just follow the instructions step by step. I use it to automatically turn my bedside lamp on at the same time my alarm activates on weekdays only.

The above is best for when you have reptiles or fish relying on your heat supply. More accurate clock.

also good for xmas tree lights, and resetting that dodgy adsl modem every night

  • pretty good price for a name brand timer, but pay the extra and get the digital, even if generic.

has a battery which saves the time and program,

    • has a battery which saves the time and program

Yeah this one does that without a battery …

      • Sure, this one "remembers" the program, but once power is removed for some time it will no longer be set to the current time, and will need to be manually set again.

  • Thanks OP got 1 pack. Just read about this product in $1200 energy bill forum post this morning post and made a note of buying this to use with my oil fin heater and now there is a deal for it. Good timing

    • In the next 36mins? Really worth it over like $0.25?

        1. You didn't click the link
        2. It is 10%
        • I clicked the link, it's twice the price, and you said to get the price beaten. I'm pointing out this deal should expire at midnight.

  • Do these units make a clicking sound like the ikea ones? That constant gear turning sound drove me nuts.

    • I use them outside for the Christmas lights :)

  • thanks ordered 1

Great for us reptile owners who need their heat and UV light on at certain times. Good price

    • You'd be better off using a thermostat for the heat though right …
