        • Wow, blatant fraud.

I can't believe people think this is "news"

        • Coles Express is the highest paying servo in Australia.

        • @tomkun01: well you wouldnt expect a big name like 7-11 to do it.
I know alot of restaurants employ student or working holiday.
From what i hear the going rate is about $12-$13

        • @Hirolol: why not? Red rooster was in the news quite recently for the same thing

        • @tomkun01: oh yeh, i forgot about that… not good that i forgot so soon, people need to keep thinking about these things otherwise nothing will change

      Probably minimal.

Are they all owned by Coles or Franchised?

      • +2

        Owned by Coles

Former employee * Its inline with other Coles owned group I think (Kmart, Coles Supermarket and so on) ~ $21/hr + $10/hr for weekends. Part time is weird tho… min 6/hr a week so you can fluctuate from 35 to 6/hr a week (paid at nominal rate and not casual for the extra hours).

        • How do coles express survive then?
Is it because they sell petrol?
Apparently 7-11 wouldnt survive if they paid their staff proper wages.
Actually i recall someone sayingthat 7-11 takes 50% of profits but i guess they dont need to worry if coles own all the coles express

        • @Hirolol:
I don't think many people make that much money from selling petrol given decent competition. Its all about the convenience. $4 for a 600ml bottle of coke when you can buy a 1.25L for the same price at the supermarkets? Its a high volume, low margin business. Its about every 50c you can get from each customer.

        • @7412547854: and OzBargainers only buy this kind of Soft Drink when it's less than $1 per litre!

      • Owned by coles group.

Team members get $ 21+ and 1.5 times weekend. Higher for casuals.

  • Ah I thought this was the ATM balance enquiry receipt coupon. Last I remember they were still giving out Coles Spring water for free with that. Wonder what it is now.

Free coffee/spring water deal is still running until 16th of Sep at least (it keeps getting extended), although it's not showing on the website at the moment (some error).

      • It does appear on the desktop version of the website. Free water has been extended until October.

Terms say you can use the usual 4c docket in combination with this 10c one, if that helps any one.

I'm glad my nearest Coles Express is a few blocks from work.

  • I'm having a love affair with this ice-cream sandwich.

    • -2

Fancy a bit of sandwich action? =p

  • How's the coffee at Coles Express vs 7-eleven?

    • +3

      20 cents cheaper.

      • Better at 7 eleven if wanting a cheap coffee.

    • 20c cheaper plus Coles pay their staff proper wages.

  • Fill up NOW, some petrol stations are putting the price up about 20 cents..

In store, it said the offer was valid until some date in November…

Trying to get $20 worth of stuff at station would be difficult I don't think the time spent is worth it.

    • +1

easiest way is 2x$10 Quinton toilet paper or 2x$8 pack of bottle waters + some specials. Go for things that are the same price as the supermarket (bread, milk & some specials on choc/chips).

      • One can argue hard to find Coles Express with stock on Quinton toilet paper (in fact quality is inferior). Bottle of water no need to buy because there's tap water or have filters at home. Bread and Milk is already being purchased at supermarkets along with Wed specials

    • Would an opal top up work? (Sydney)

  • YESSSSSSSSS!!! Ive been holding out to buy the maxibon peanut butter and jam that only seems to be available individually at servos cos i didnt wanna pay $4 for one! Legend OP!

  • $ 1 for Mother 250ml cans.
