  • Thanks Monty, got one of Each.

  • I doubt the Soniq speakers would satisfy the "number available" requirement to post on their own; how many "ex-display" units can they possibly have ?

      1st link sold out

The page you were after lived a good and happy life, but now it is no longer with us. That's ok though, because we have thousands more that are alive and just as great.

    Thanks to Earth for this

I grabbed a copy of Windows 8.1 Pro thanks to that post :)

Also, looks like those Blue Fox Wireless Qi Charger and Sound Stations are back too:

Fyi …The blue fox S4 charger will charge the S5.

      • Will it charge an s6?

        • +1

Don't have an S6 to test but I don't see why not.

        • It will when the phone is upside down.

      • Awesome, thanks.

      • How?

    • Is it a good deal?

    • Excuse my ignorance, but that's a full-on copy of Windows 8 Pro yes?
      I don't need Win7 to use that?
What if i want to go to Windows 8.1 Pro? - is that free once i buy this?
I can got to Win10 if i get this i take it?
Can i install this on more than one machine and not get shot?

Sorry, but don't often buy software…

      • Can't edit the above, so this is what i've found i can do with this:

        1. Can downgrade to Windows 7 Pro (free).
        2. Can upgrade to Windows 8.1 Pro (free).
        3. Can upgrade to Windows 10 Pro (free, but it's only meant to last 1 year).

And from what i read here, that means either 32bit or 64bit versions.

I'll have two machines, so would still like to know what will happen if i try to install this on both…

        • +2

regarding point 3. The free upgrade program is only for 1 year not the licence. If you upgrade to windows 10 within that time the licence is valid for life.

        • Oh, i see. Misread it. Thanks.

So within the first year i can upgrade to Win10 Pro, and have it forever.
Presumably i would also be able to switch back down again with the licence - not sure if this would prevent me from going back to Win 10 Pro again, but after the 1-year period.

Not too keen on Win10 given their automated updates.
Don't know if this can be halted via ZoneAlarm or something.

Why are you guys saying the deal is finished? They are both still available. I just purchased the 2.1 system. You can't complain at $9 delivered. The delivery probably costs more than that. Nice find OP!

    • Same here, bought one for $9. Would've bought the 5.1 but the "display stock" scares me. Still thinking if I should buy the 5.1 Please advise, fellow bargainers.

      • If you need the 5.1 sure go for it.

They cost 3x the amount for an extra 35w of power and a remote.

Personally I would rather 3x the 2.1 setups for less money.

        • Ahahaha, I also thought about that. Like three times the price for an extra 3 speakers. I figured the woofer might be a little more powerful? Idk, I'm a newbie when it comes to all these. Anyway, to combine 2 ( 2.1 systems ) into 1?

        • +1

          @K91x:

There is actually if you have a sound card that has multiple 3.5mm outs for a surround setup.

But you would end up with a 2.1, a 4.2 or a 6.3 setup which are really not the norm. I've never seen the setups done, but there's no reason they can't be done.

Also the woofers are not small, so you would need quite a bit of space.

  • My experience with the CSA32's

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/210320

Still giving this deal a +1, they do sound great after I did a solder reflow on the DOA amplifier with a heat gun to get them working. I just bought another set as a backup, and 1 more for a gift.

  • Seems fairly priced - thanks OP. Other stuff here:
    https://www.soniq.com/au/clearance

  • order status is on 'in progress' hopefully there is sufficient stock there

  • not sure why but i bought one - thanks OP

    • It's gone now. I think we may have got the last 2

      • -1

        oh hecticcc

  • I also purchased them for $4 from the last OzBargain deal, they are great speakers so just ordered another set. Thanks OP

    • -2

Should have left for someone else too.. just saying.. ;)

      • Bought the second set for a friend, although did order the 5.1 set for myself :)

      • Should have been quicker… just saying….

  • 2.1 speakers can't be added to the cart

    • Stock gone now when looking at the link.

5.1 setup still in stock though. Personally I think you will be very happy with them for $29 delivered going on my experience with the 2.1 setup - they blow the JBL Duet III speakers out of the water and that deal had 90+ upvotes for a set of really bad speakers.

  • Damn it. Paypal defaulted to the wrong card and I missed out on the $9 one. At least I got the $29 though.

  • Got em thanks 29$ good priiiiii????

    • Price.Yes.

  • Just got a pair thanks :)

  • Bought one for the Wii U and PS3 to go with a new monitor, ta.

  • No 2.1 left so had to go for 5.1
Should do the job otherwise just give away as a gift.

  • +3

The popularity is making me feel like I need to get one otherwise I fear I will miss out…………. bloody ozbargain

    • Do it man, they actually sound really impressive.

The JBL Duet III hype train was a serious let down despite having 90+ upvotes, these Soniq speakers are not just hype - they sound great for the RRP let alone this steal of a price.

      • Nah.
Rational side of me is like, where the hell am I gonna put this? What do I do with my old one? Not an audiophile after all.. screw it. Not buying it.

        • +1

The force is strong with this one

  • -7

Just grabbed 2 of these bad boys will sell one for $50 absolute ozbargain

  • 5.1 now expired

  • The "RRP of $129.95" is the biggest BS ever.

Also, just a heads up that you need one of these receivers (or similar) if you have an iPhone to use the Qi charging pad.

    • Are you sure? These chargers come with a cradle with iPhone connector that you put the iPhone in, and then the cradle sits on the wireless charging pad. I didn't check it out too much but I assume the cradle incorporates the receiver. I'm saying this because I bought the iPhone 4/4S one last time so have the cradle but have never used it (I took it off and charge a Nexus 5 on the pad).

      • Oh, you can use the case if you want, but the ebay receiver lets you use your own case.
The general meaning of my comment was that you cant simply put an iPhone on the pad and expect it to charge.

  • +2

Will the iphone 5/5s charger work for iphone 6 too? Thanks

  • Plus for the Windows 8.1 Pro, just bought one for the new pc I'm building. While it's 32 bit, it seems you can upgrade to Windows 10 then download the 64 bit for free.
    https://www.infopackets.com/news/9649/how-upgrade-windows-7-…

  • +1

The iPhone 5/5s one is $19 not $14 as the title says. Please fix/update.

    • Yep, $19 for 5/5s and also the Samsung link has been broken all morning, I assume sold out. Reported and now updated :)

  • Just ordered the 5s one. Do you think it will work on the 6?

    • i wonder this too

  • Any reason the "iPhone" QI chargers wouldn't work with any other 'phone ??

    • I have a feeling its the 30pin and lightning connector so I suspect you will be able to use them with the next gen phones.

I'm more worried about the receivers the "cpho" mentions, iPhones don't have a backing to hide that device so it makes it kinda pointless.

    • I bought the iPhone 4/4S one and it works fine with a Nexus 5. From what I can tell, the only difference between the Samsung and iPhone models is that the iPhone model comes with an extra cradle (which is not attached so you can just throw it away if you don't need it).

Edit: My bad, the Samsung one probably comes with a (removable) Samsung cradle. If you have a phone with built-in wireless charging, you should be able to just throw away the cradle and use the pad but if you have a phone that requires a cover/cradle, you'll need one of those.

  • Does the wireless charging station come with the case to put your phone in? Doesn't say anywhere on the JBHiFi page. Would be pretty dumb selling it without but perhaps that's why it's clearance stock? Says compatible with 4s 5s with no caveats saying you must already have the appropriate phone case. Can anyone clarify?

Also is this unit any better than the ones on EBay selling for similar price. Can't find a RRP anywhere. Really only need charging features.

    • +1

The iPhone 4/4S model comes with a hard plastic case/cradle with connector (I have it). I assume the 5/5S does too.

      • Have you been happy with it? Why did you buy this brand over others (Price?)

        • Price was the only factor. It does the job. It's occasionally convenient that it props the phone up at an angle so you can watch video while charging but only portrait. I can't comment on charging times (haven't really paid attention) or the sound quality of the speakers (haven't used).

        • @dazweeja:
Thanks. Ordered. Can't hurt to try at this price.

    • The blue fox one comes with the module that goes inside the back cover.

      • +1

That's for the S4 model. The iPhone 4 one comes with a slide-on case. I presume the iPhone 5 one does too, since you can't remove the back cover to insert the charging receiver card in like the S4 (as mentioned above).

        • Yep sorry, Samsung S4,S5

  • Samsung Galaxy S4 = Sold Out.

    • The iPhone 4/4S works with Android phones - just throw away the iPhone cradle (it's not attached in any way).

      • What about the S5?

      • Can you like elaborate how that works because it shows that you require a case to be put on.

        • Sorry, you're right. Android phones that don't have built-in wireless charging will still require one of those charging covers so the iPhone version won't work with certain Samsung phones. My bad.

        • @dazweeja:
The blue fox one comes with the module that goes inside the Samsung S4,S5 back cover.

      • The iPhone 4/4S is smaller than most Android phones, so the coil could be too low down. It definitely doesn't work with the S6, so better keep that in mind before buying it to use with your Android phone.

        • It works upside down.

        • @xseta: you're right, it does. I find it strange upside down though, if I press the home button to check notifications, they're all upside down. I wonder what the position of the coil on the iP5 model is.

        • @eug: I just put half of mine on a book so its level, works like a charm for a work desk charger.

  • Would the iphone 4/4s charger be good to use with a Nexus 5? I know the N5 is compatible with Qi (already use it at home) - but wondered if it would provide enough power? Or are they all the same in this regard (Qi that is)?

Thinking to get one for the office, any info appreciated :)

    • +1

It'll provide the power, but the location of the coil might be too low as the iPhone 4 is a smaller phone. It definitely doesn't work with the S6.

The S4 one definitely works, and the ip5 one .. maybe?

      • Thanks, I had a similar thought about possible size issues, I think I will hold off as I might be buying the new Nexus 5 soon anyway.

I would have preferred the Samsung one, but sold it's out. The ip5 at $19 is making me think twice.

  • If you have to put it in a cradle first before you place it on the charging pad, then it seems like a pointless device. With the time it takes to remove my existing protective case then put on the cradle, I may as well just stick with plugging the charger cable in as it only takes two seconds. Maybe in future versions when the charge receiver is built in I may buy a charger.

    • The idea is to use the cradle as your case.

  • Got one of these from the last deal. The first one I got was most probably a refurbished or warranty return one. The packing was open on arrival and the speaker didn't work. I got it replaced with a brand new one in store. The new one is working fine expect the charging is a hit and miss at times.

  • What was the 'Veho360 Portable Bluetooth Speaker' for $5.50 that was originally in the title?

  • Ordered one, but got an email from PayPal that they were waiting for the merchant to take the $$'s from my PP Account ???

  • Already received my wireless charger for s4 they sent overnight toll pretty good for free delivery..

Although does the inbuilt speaker work wirelessly or you need to plug in jack audio cable anyone? Cant get it to work..

    • +1

It's wireless - you have to press the button on the back till it turns blue/purple. You can't charge while playing wirelessly though.

It picks up the audio electromagnetically from the speaker, so it's prone to picking up interference. It's more of a party trick than a serious speaker. :)

      • Yeah… Would've been nice to be told by JB beforehand that it can't play and charge at the same time.

The speakers suck balls. There's a lot of static and it keeps dropping in and out unless your phone volume is up high.

All in all, fell for another stupid gimmick.

        • Yeah, that sort of wireless connection will always be susceptible to interference.

Are you actually using it with the S4 or whatever phone it was designed for? The position of the pickup coil would only be optimised for the phone it was meant for.

        • @eug:
Yeah, iPhone 5 in the case they gave.
I think I'll just stick to using it as a charger. I bought a cheapo Qi receiver off eBay. Hopefully theyre compatible

  • Ah k yeh got it to work thanks. Aint nothing special :p

  • My 5.1 speakers got cancelled, gah!

  • +1

Just received my 2x 2.1 setups but not the 5.1 setup.

The 2.1 setups are in a sealed retail box which is different to the refurbished set I got straight from Soniq last week. They look to be new sets rather than refurbished but that's just on the outside.

I don't want to open them to find out, as I plan on giving them away as gifts.

    • Wow, that sucks. So nobody gets the deal on the 5.1. They will probably resell them later if that's the case, so maybe keep an eye out. I noticed my 2.1 system has been sent, so hopefully I'll get them tomorrow.

  • Yep, got a cancelled order too, even though when i ordered the huge graphic on the page was still showing stock at 50%

  • Yeah same here, cancelled. Sucks :(
Oh well $29 stays in the pocket

  • I actually got a email saying that mine have been shipped via Toll. I did order them pretty early on though.

    • I just received my 5.1 setup.

  • Received both my 5.1 and 2.1 speakers today. The 5.1 set was refurbished and sounds good, infa-red remote is a bonus.

The 2.1 looked brand new worked for about 20 mins then the sound cut out similar to what c0balt experienced with his first set. If I knew how to solder I would have attempted c0balt's fix, nevertheless after first trying to source a replacement opted for a refund from my local JB.
