Samsung Galaxy Note 5 32GB Black $899 @ Allphones - Cheapest Local Unlocked Stock

690

Cheapest local stock from a bricks and mortar store currently.

Check in with your local store here: http://www.allphones.com.au/find-a-store/

Not as cheap as the expired $888 from Mobileciti here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/210513 but is the cheapest available at the moment for local stock.
Cheaper than the Vodafone stock for $912: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/210436

Handset is presumably unlocked with local warranty as per usual when purchasing from allphones.

May also be available to price match at HN, JB, TGG ($1099 RRP).

Personally as a huge phablet fan, I'm holding out for more info about the Huawei Nexus and then comparing to the Moto X Style (~$675 32GB via Clove landed vs $792 via Vodafone outright), plummeting Nexus 6 prices or just keeping my steady Huawei Ascend Mate7. I think personally the Note 5 is too expensive to buy purely for its large screen unless you plan to use the stylus fastidiously. No mSD expansion also forces many people to go for the even more expensive and still locally unavailable 64GB model.

Happy hunting!

      Negged, posted by kiriakoz.

  • Anyone know where is the best place to get the 64GB or 128GB version of this phone that will work with most Aussie 3G/4G networks?

One thing about samsung, wait a couple of weeks ans its 20% cheaper

    • -1

      I hope

    • i think that is kind of an outdated statement, but i do wish it were true. I thought I would be able to buy a S3 or even an S4 for a decent price, and in some shops they are still over 50% of this price, even used !! this was hardly a month ago. I suppose most phones do most of what most people want to do for a decent price and so they are still sought after on the used market (like apple samsung has loads of accessories, unlike less known brands like meizu), well you people probably know all that.

      • Well the s6 and s6 edge has dropped heaps in price.

      • Maybe, but then again, we've seen S3 at $249 from K-Mart around 4 months ago. I've seen S4 i9506 at cheaper price than what it is currently at few months ago as well. So I think you've missed that brief window of time where the vendors reduce the price significantly to get rid of their old stock or compete with others.

        • great i feel much better now =D

(although for a phone as old as the S3 $249 ouch! ) - anyway i just wanted to comment that the price drop in a few weeks was not really accurate, i'd count in months or years depending how much you want off.

        • @juki: Be fair, it was when s6 just got released. I'd say $249 is alright given Moto G was around that price (I think). I think Android phones do lose value quickly; 20% I think is slight exaggeration and the time frame is slightly exaggerated as well. That said, they do lose value quickly compared to a phone with high monopolistic power.

Android manufacturers are pricing their phones aggressively as well (even though our exchange rate rose too much for the aggressive pricing to be reflected on Australian Price). Since older phones have to compete with newer phones (Within Android market, we have more competitions), they tend to lose value quickly.

:D i'm not on ozbargain because i like spending :p I'm not a specialist on phones, nor even a "geek" so thanks for taking the time to explain.

    TITTIES!

I checked the Note 5 on its release day at Melbourne Central's Samsung store. The clerk repeatedly mentioned that Samsung has no intention of bringing a larger storage version at all, and I only have the option of using the Cloud.

That is the shittiest excuse I have ever heard. At least if you are going to charge 1000+ make it the 128GB version. I am honestly anticipating an RRP drop.

      Would the clerk actually know?

    • Would the clerk actually say "Yes, we are going to bring higher capacity version, so don't buy it now." even if it is true?
The chances are, the clerk wouldn't have a definitive answer, judging from how some consumer supports don't even know what's happening with the updates and such.

  • The best phone I've ever owned. I got the 64gb gold note 5 from T-Dimension in HK on release, with the official S-Vew cover. I just love this phone. I'd heard people don't use the S pen much, I use it constantly. When doing things like my budget in YNAB, I really like using the S pen. Steve Jobs was wrong, I want to use a Stylus. After using it so often I hate using my finger, though the finger can be more comfortable and natural. The stylus lets me view the entire screen even when im navigating it. This is great when reading as I dont have my finger constantly int he way moving the page about. Just realised I've started to ramble.

    • He must be spinning like a wind turbine in his grave now!

    • Just make sure you don't shove that S pen wrong side!

Haven't put the S Pen in backwards as of yet. I also haven't put my car into reverse on the highway. So far so good.

        • You can try it with your car - it won't happen.. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same thing with S pen!

    • My better half needs the S Pen on her phone because she use it to play Bubble Witch 2.

    • Can I ask how much you paid for the gold 64GB version?

      • Bit late now but I about 1100?

  • Shame there is no deal posted on s6 Edge + yet

  • Went to the broadway store and was told they've sold out of this deal. It's now back to i think he said $968?

    sadface ;(

    • Still listed as $899 on their website.
Expiry date is 30th September. Doesn't say limited by stock. I would show them the web page and then refer them to head office/or try another allphones.

  • Update: Looks like Allphones have extended the deal to 31st October and potentially beyond

*Offer ends 31 October 2015 (unless extended)

You may be able to get it price matched at officework and then beaten by 5% as per this person who tried on WP:

    Good luck! :)
