I haven't activated it yet but the ticket said that it included 3GB for 30 days

      • good price then..Thanks for posting.

Triple what you thought seems +Vote worthy.

      • This thread from December last year reckons they come with 1GB of data. Could Australia Post be wrong on the ticket claiming 3GB of data. Perhaps they confused 3G with 3GB either that or you confused 3G on the ticket for 3GB of data.

      • Yeah. I think the ticket may have been stuffed up either that you were looking at the ticket for the Optus 3G USB stick which has 3GB of data and 30 days thinking it was for the Telstra 3G USB stick.

Australia Post have the Optus USB stick with 3GB of data and 30 day expiry for $14.50 on sale.

But it doesn't seem likely that Telstra is giving 3GB of data on the old 3G USB stick when they're only giving 2GB of data on their newer 4G USB stick version.

  • Does anyone know if they have an expiry date?

    • This one has an expiry date of 16th June 2016 but of course it will vary depending on when it was made.

    • Did they have many in stock?

It's the Telstra (ZTE MF70). Information and some specs here:

Not sure if paying $15 for a Telstra 3G USB stick is worth it when less than $10 more from Australia Post shop gets the newer 4G version.

Except you get 2GB instead of 3 don't you?

      • I very much doubt the old 3G version comes with 3GB of data. I pointed to a thread on Ozbargain which shows it comes with 1GB of data.

This one has wifi - can share the 3G with 5 devices. Also comes with power pack so you can plug it into a power point.

      • +1

Sharing 3GB on 5 devices has got to really hurt as in slow to a crawl. You'd be far better off with the newer 4G version http://zte.com.au/telstra/MF823.htm for less than $10 extra at Australia Post or Officeworks which probably can also share with devices.

        • No Wifi on the MF823, faster but cant share without hotspot.

    • The same one for the same price at Officeworks and comes with 3GB.

  • Can this USB modem be Hackable/modded ?

    • Yes, using DC Unlocker. Not sure on details but I know some who has done this to unlock it from Telstra.

  • This's the deal start from half year ago till now. How much data included is depends on which version you get. At the very beginning ZTE MF70 is a kind of mid class device and Telsta give 3GB data on it, then reduced to 2GB. and at last 1GB. Some with this printed on label, some not. So 1gb, 2gb or 3gb, a lucky dig!
