Mod 7/10/15: Due to an increasing number of issues with GearBest, we have today banned the store from all deal posts (both rep and non rep) on OzBargain.

A member contacted us last week to express their concerns about the store; in relation to this and other threads. It appears quite clear that the majority of members feel it would no longer be beneficial to have these posts on OzBargain. The ban will be an indefinite one, we may review it if we see a significant improvement and will be monitoring this and other threads for evidence of that.

        don't think so.

        It's rather stupid that they sent me a standard reply. saying that normally it would be 10-25 business day to arrive and ask me patiently wait, but it's more than 25 business day.

        and indicated to wait for 45 business day for some compensation (i.e. likely not full refund?)

        bought few things from banggood and tiny deals recently, all received within 2 weeks+

    I eslalated the dispute to a claim including the link to this thread for the paypal staff to read. If I ever get the item I'm happy to refund the refund ;)

  • I ordered and paid from GearBest on 12 July 2015.On 6'th August, I got email from GearBest notifying that the order has been shipped out.

    After file a Paypal dispute, I received the following reply:
    Thank you for placing your order.We are extremely sorry that you have not received your order yet.As you have not paid tracking fees 2usd, we sent it out by unregistered parcel. No shipping information online.Package number:CNxxxxxxx by post ,send out on 2015-08-06.It usually takes about 15-45 business days (Monday through Friday) to reach you.All of our customer orders are shipped directly from China. Sometimes there is a delay with the post office and custom. If you have not received the package for 45 business days, please contact with us directly or the local post office.

      The worst part about my case is that I paid the $2USD for tracking and they still sent it via unregistered post….Still waiting. Next Monday is 46 days.

    • Thanks, I will be leaving a review. I created this OzBargain account just to let everyone know how bad they are. They wanted to charge me again to send a new one. They didn't want to refund me for item not received. I'm currently working with PayPal to get my money back.

      • Yeah lucky PayPal made the period 180 days for dispute. It's close to 90 days already

        • I have a feeling the extension is benefiting gearbest more than us. I'd already have the money in my pocket under the old paypal rules.

          I've got news that will make you happy djones145 - Paypal sided with me for the dispute and refunded me (as expected). I would love for them to be banned from Ozbargain - a lot of bad reviews from different products.

      • Seems to be a regular tactic from (the dodgy) chinese sellers to offer a resend rather than a refund.

        IMO it's more about getting you to close the paypal dispute and forfeiting paypal protection.

        Always insist on a refund and you can chose to order again if you choose to ;)

    Started a dispute, they have decided to email me and said they will consider a refund after 45 days… Its been 3 months

    • Do you remember what you chose as the type of product it is in paypal djones145? Two weeks and I'll be at 45 business days (not including the month they took to email a tracking number).
      Imagine their shitty attitude if we didn't have paypal protection.

    I linked this thread in my PayPal dispute. I encourage others to do the same so that PayPal realises that this isn't just a case of people not paying for tracked shipping and the parcel being lost in transit.

  • Never received, just contacted seller through paypal and will escalate to a dispute if I don't receive a refund.

      • Yeah same here, I actually opened a 'dispute'. Sorry I am not clued up on the process. If they don't respond or refund then I can escalate to a 'claim'.

          They replied saying I didn't pay $2 for tracking and to wait till 6th Oct for delivery as it can take 45 days or something like that. I haven't worked out if that's 45 days to that date yet, it feels like a lot longer.

  • Yep in the same boat raised a dispute then escalated after I got the generic you didn't pay for tracking email. Then got an email from Gearbest asking me to close the dispute, that's not going to happen.

    I can say this now… Gearbest won't ever get another sale from me now

    This is insane. I thought I was the only one waiting. Definitely wont be ordering from Gear Best again.

    I hope Ozbargain can stop sharing these 'deals' so no one else gets shafted again.

    • They are hiding. They know something went wrong with the shipping for this product and don't want to refund everyone's money. I have escalated my claim on PayPal as "fraudulent activity" citing their generic response to mass issue, as proven by this thread.

  • I recon the company may be preparing to shut down i have seen this many times they operate as long as they can not sending items then shut down with all the cash.

      Dear Gearbest,

      I am very sorry your "customer service response templates" document didn't cover how to handle this situation.

      The free shipping is, I assume, free because you wrap the item in bubble wrap and throw it out to sea, trusting mighty Poseidon will see it journey safely to it's destination.

      As for the order loss on the transportation, which lacks any semblance of proper grammar, I also very regret for it. If the customer complains enough you might refund, but your hope is the cost won't be worth our time and we'll just forget about it. I can't wait to PM you and see which fun templated response I get this time.

      I advise you honour your sales and not dispatch a month after purchase, which will help you not be shut down by PayPal as a fraudulent and untrustworthy business.

        Please kindly note this is our company policy that consider the package loss for 45 business day after dispatch. As you can see, the arrive date is out of our control, there are so many factor will affect it. Such as weather, festival and custom. Besides, the package come without tracking number, we also cannot track where it is. But we have promised to compensation for 45 business days.

          Hi Gearbest

          Can you explain why it took a month to dispatch it when the site says "Ships within 5-10 business days"?
          If it's because you didn't have stock available then you should update the status of the item to say it was backordered. Giving false stock information is unacceptable, what if someone was buying it as a gift for someone and you still hadn't sent their item a month after they paid for it?

        • @unco: That "5-10 Business days" are vary depends on the Customer Representatives, if they took 1~2 weeks of sick leave, 9~12 weeks of parental leave or worst case like ours' annual leave, that's how you should read and understand.

          I guess they should paid me to explain this policy.

    P.s. Next step is to contact Amex and report a fraudulent transaction from Paypal

      I got that as well. Just sat there for a week with Paypal and then I got my refund (I assume because they got around to checking the 'tracking' number and saw it was useless).

      • sweet, raised my a few days ago, hopefully get my refund!

    • Same thing here. Just ignore it because it doesn't require your action and things will move by itself.
      Happy that I got my money back (paid AUD13 and got AUD16 back!) but paypal wrote "we have refunded this at no cost to the seller due to the special circumstances of your case". Not sure what was special about my case compared to all the people here but I really wanted Gearbest to get a slap on the wrist for giving false information to people. In this case they got let off and paypal copped it which really doesn't get us anywhere.
      Last time a I got a similar refund from allbuy but allbuy have now changed their shipping times on their website and changed their shipping company to something faster apparently, and that item "only" took two months to arrive while this one is nigh on three…
