RITECH Virtual Reality 3D Glasses Version 2 - Order in July - GEARBEST

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/202439

are people still waiting for this?
it was suppose to be sent in August (based on tracking)

Mod 7/10/15: Due to an increasing number of issues with GearBest, we have today banned the store from all deal posts (both rep and non rep) on OzBargain.

A member contacted us last week to express their concerns about the store; in relation to this and other threads. It appears quite clear that the majority of members feel it would no longer be beneficial to have these posts on OzBargain. The ban will be an indefinite one, we may review it if we see a significant improvement and will be monitoring this and other threads for evidence of that.

Thanks all

  • Still patiently waiting after 3 months :)

    • lol how did u pay?

      • PayPal… Hopefully I'll get the refund soon.

  • I have just received mine today with a postage date of 22 September, which was the date I contacted them again.

Many thanks to the OP of this thread, because I think the pressure they helped create made things happen at last.

    • Wow so it only took 2 weeks to arrive after they posted it.
I still haven't received mine yet!

    • What did u say when you contacted them?

      • On 17 September I wrote to them "This order has still not arrived. Ordered on 12 July. I emailed weeks later to ask why it had not been sent. On 10 August I was sent an email saying it had suddenly been sent, but still nothing has been received more than 30 business days after that, and more than 2 months from the original order."

On 18 September I received the standard reply they sent about the 45 business days. They seem to have shipped it on 22 September.

Interestingly I think it's the same label and package from when they sent the photo (on the order page) of the item shipped in August. That August "shipped" box was still in China on 22 September (I think it was reshipped with China Post), so possibly a logistical error on top of their original stock error.

    • OMG congrats

      aw. I can't upvote that. :)

    • Thanks hamza23.

    • Do not even review this at a later..

Just make this permanent for good…

This will benefit ozbargain community more than it hurts.

Gearbest is one of the best example of how not to run an online shopping company.

      • They are ok, as long as you order and don't post, get the item then post. Once too many people order, they crap out, get greedy and don't mark items as sold out, or wil he delayed etc. Then they make excuses

        Poor

    • Awesome

    • thanks Hamza!

if they have more accurate shipping times, and actually ship the items when people buy them (or place them as out of stock), I would be happy if they were un banned
      their items are semi cheap

  • Not impressed gearbest. Someone should forward this thread to the accc or something.

    • Don't think they can do much
      Just need to warn others

    Think my work is done

    • Awesome work!!!!!!!!!!!
You seriously put effort into protecting OzBargainars and we all appreciate it.

I got a different message from eBay to you guys who had them say it was a unique situation.

We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your
    favour.

We were able to recover $9.99 USD, and this amount has been credited to
you. Please allow 5 business days for this adjustment to be posted.

If you are due any additional funds, we will make our best effort to
recover the balance from the seller.

If the seller's account has insufficient funds to complete the refund owed
to you, please be assured that we will take appropriate action against the
seller's account, which may include limitation of the seller's account privileges.

    • that's a bit different

  • Still have not received mine. finally decided to put in a paypal claim…

    • +2

      should have done it earlier~

  • Ordered an item on the 28/8 (August), shortly after it was apparently shipped, it's now the 9/10 (October) and I haven't seen a thing.

They've asked that I check the address details (done and are fine) and the local post office (which I've also done to no avail) and get back to them.

I've reported back… and nothing, no acknowledgement at all.

I'm lucky that it wasn't for a great deal of money as I'm sure some of the members here have spent.

They've told me that I need to wait till the 31/10 (October) before raising another ticket/complaint with them for non-receipt. It is unacceptable and I will be raising a case will Paypal if I have no further acknowledgement from them in seven days.

just do it now, you can always cancel it later if you actually get your stuff.

      • Yeah probably a good idea.

        • yeah can always cancel if ya receive

    • good luck
most ordered it around early july and haven't seen it yet!

  • Seems to be anything ordered in July hasn't rocked up. I ordered a heap of other stuff on the 30th and it never turned up. Gearbest was supposed to refund me 10 days ago…. so Paypal dispute it is with screenshots of their promised refund ;)

    • Good luck

      • Thanks. Been down this path before with another site that threatend and tried to extort me. I just kept adding screenshots to the case and won pretty quickly.

        • most of us have placed a paypal dispute and they have ruled in our flavour
          should be fine
          good luck!

  • any update from people?

    • Have you got a refund yet?

      • not yet, paypal ruled in my favour

      • u?

  • +1

Paypal still investigating my claim fingers crossed.

    • Good luck. Takes a while

  • +1

It's been 3 months to the date and I haven't received my order yet.
I'd already given up on ever receiving it and put my USD10 refund from paypal towards the actual Gear VR for Note 4 which has dropped to USD99 +postage on Amazon (compared to AUD299 in Oz), which I thought I'd share in case anyone else is keen. The Gearbest one can be someone's stocking filler if it arrives before Christmas or ever at all.

    • yeah dispute is only way forward

  • Still have not received anything. I have gone the option of asking Gearbest for a refund rather than Paypal dispute. Hopefully they issue a me a refund and I can move on.

    • +1

Keen to hear what they say. My money's on "cheapest shipping option doesn't have tracking, please wait another 45 business days". Or some variation thereupon.

      • pretty much is wat they will say, paypal dispute all the way

        • +1

          UPDATE:

I've been issued a refund promptly after contacting Gearbest through my ticket (lodged with them) and through the Ozbargain account ( I just thought I'd do both). I think it was the ozbargain rep that issued it.

          I can now move on.

        • @zenex2:

Crap meant to + this but fat fingers

    • they usually do

  • Turns out escalating to a claim was enough to make them respond to my ticket.

The short version is they will either give me 50% back in GB points, refund 50% to paypal or reship the order if I pay them $14.

    • That seems like some very poor options.

      • And my paypal claim has evidence of them offering to refund my order or reship it. Hopefully paypal will be on my side for this one.

        • I had a lot less evidence (couldn't work out how to add anything to PayPal when it wasn't my "turn" to respond to the claim process) and I got a full refund via PayPal.

        • @salem: Yeah same for me. They've changed it around I think, so I just added imgur links.

        • mines said to wait 45 days! its been over that

        • @salem:

I had a lot less evidence (couldn't work out how to add anything to PayPal when it wasn't my "turn" to respond to the claim process) and I got a full refund via PayPal.

you dont NEED evidence. the only "fact" that it hinges on is "can you prove it was delivered" (via tracked delivery). once GB cant supply a working tracking number you win the claim.

    • very poor options, option 4 better, paypal dispute

    • What kind of crap options are those? It costs more to reship than it costs to buy in the first place. Dodgy buggers. I've opened a ticket with them a few days ago. No response. PayPal claim soon

      • Worth noting that the $14 is half of my total order, but still contradicts their original statement of a full refund or sending it again. Don't waste your time waiting for them to reply on the Paypal case. I'd just escalate it.

  • +2

For all those who have not received their product, don't bother with Gearbest, escalate with Paypal, get your refund and move on.

I haven't received it, but i had my refund via PayPal and moved on :)

  • Hi,

How long does it take to get your refund from ebay? I filed my dispute on the 15th of Sep and had it escalated on the 2nd of Oct. Gearbest was given until the 12th to response, but they didn't . There is no update from paypal as yet.

    • same here!

    • How long does it take to get your refund from ebay?

it all depends. the initial process is all automated but i believe the final decision needs human interaction so probably depends on how over run paypal workers are with all the dodgy shit from places like ebay and these dodgy asian sellers. usually its anything from days to weeks in my previous experience

edit: fwiw i escalated a claim from something on ebay and its been a week so far with no word from paypal.

    • takes a while

  • On another note, where are people sourcing their VR glasses from? Any Reliable websites?

    • there was a deal on a few hours ago
      from shopping square? I think

  • +2

If GB says they can't refund you because of the open case with Paypal, link them this, because it is possible for them to refund within Paypal.

    Edit: and this

  • After 3 months of waiting and a PayPal dispute. I got an email from them. A bloody refund after 3 months? They were not planning to send us the item from the start?

    • poor
      let paypal deal with it

      • They agreed to refund the purchase but I dont see any money refunded. It's been two weeks already since I claimed.

        • They gearbest or they PayPal?

If you've read this thread you should know not to expect gearbest to actually refund you. Raise a PayPal dispute and escalate to a claim.

        • +1

          @salem:

          Paypal dispute raised.

I think Gearbest ignored my replies.

  • Funnily enough mine just arrived today.

    Ordered 11/7
    Shipped 1/8
    Arrived 15/10

Obviously pretty poor but if you think of it as a freebie that took 3 months to arrive then you might feel a little better.

    • finally! nice

  • The Romoss 20,000 mAH powerbank I ordered from GearBest 15/9 arrived sometime last week sent via Sweden Surface Mail,

Still awaiting 3d glasses (Ordered 19/7; sent via china post unregistered 18/8)

    • +1

funnily enough, stuff going via surface from sweden arrives faster than china air. go figure

    • pretty crazy!

    • arrived today funnily enough : 16/10/2015 so not too bad

  • FYI mods - Gearbest ads are running in the square on the top right of this website. I'd guess they're targeting.

    • you mean you dont run adblockers? :| shame on you……

    • They're actually not. Ads on Ozb are based on what you search.

  • Thanks. Saw this and totally forgot I purchased one. Have just disputed it on PayPal.

    • good stuff!

  • Mine arrived last week sometime tottaly forgot i ordered them.

  • After escalating my dispute with PayPal, Gearbest finally contacted me.

They asked me to confirm my address details three times.

then offered me store credit or to re-ship.

I told them to refund the whole amount via PayPal or re-ship with the guarantee that I'll get it within 20 days.

    • Push for the refund.

      • +1

yea i made the mistake of waiting for someone to resend with an ebay purchase. they (not gearbest) dont send it the second time, i think they just hope that you forget by the time another month is up. its a no lose situation for them, either you forget and they keep your money or you remember and they only need to refund what you would have got months ago anyway.

    • +1

      Get a refund

It will never come in 20 days!

  • I havent received mine either. I just sent them an message through Paypal. Can I immediately open a paypal dispute or should I wait for gearbest's reply. In my message I asked for a refund.

    • always escalate at as soon as you can. waiting never gets you anywhere and is just a stall tactic in the hopes you forget or something

    • open a paypal case
it takes a while to go through

  • Never received and my paypal dispute was just decided in my favour. I linked this topic in the dispute for them to look at.

    • Mind you I disputed based on fraudulent activity

  • Just got my PayPal dispute in my favour.

We're happy to let you know that we've now completed our review and have decided Case [REDACTED] in your favour. Due to the unique circumstances of this case, we're issuing you this refund at no cost to your seller. You'll receive a refund of .
