Free Gourmet Fruit Box (Worth $30) with First Order @ MyFoodBag (NSW & VIC only)

40
FREEFRUIT

After posting a similar deal on ChoiceCheapies, I contacted MyFoodBag to inquire whether there were any deals for Australian customers. They came up with this.

Use coupon FREEFRUIT when you signup to get 1 gourmet fruit box with your first order. The fruit box seems to have a weeks worth of fruit in it. See sample fruit here.
My Food Bag seems to get good reviews. Enjoy!

Nice deal Wellington, all the way from across the Tasman too! Thank you :)

    • No problem! Enjoy :)

$30 for what appears (according to promo photo on the website) to be barely 1.5kg of fruit, "gourmet" or otherwise, sounds like a complete rip off.

MyFoodBag is more about convenience, may as well add the box for your first month, you are not losing anything!

      • For the same price you can get the likes of YouFoodz to deliver fresh already prepared meals.

Some people like to cook their own food, each to their own. :)

        • @Wellington:

          So much for convenience then…

NSW & VIC only, they don't deliver anywhere else. Please update title.

    Just confirmed via online chat.

  • Free Gourmet Fruit Box

    Is it "Gourmet Fruit" Box

    or

    "Gourmet" Fruit "Box"

    ?

    • It is a box of Gourmet Fruit.

What makes it "gourmet"? I am yet to be convinced this is anything but a marketing weasel word to attempt to justify the $30 price tag.

          What makes it "gourmet"?

          Have a look for yourself…

Pretty sure I could get that for about $10 down at the market…

        • @jv: Or where there is a local meat and fruit tray raffle, if you go to them.

I don't see much value here. You pay wayyyyyy more than local groceries shop.

    • The fruit box is free, so you aren't losing anything and the idea behind MyFoodBag is that you don't have to think about recipes and what to buy etc as it is all planned out for you already. The recipes and food are high quality and healthy too!

        The fruit box is free

our local fruit shop always gives away free fruit boxes, but I prefer bags…

How do you know what my kids like ?

  • How does this compare to Hello Fresh?

    • Looks to be the same idea, MyFoodBag might be sightly cheaper going by a quick look.

    • +2

I think Hello Fresh has pretty bad reviews, i.e. missing ingredients, particularly the expensive proteins!

I've tried myfoodbag. It's quite fun to do, I even made Spanish seafood paella in my small kitchen, so that's saying a lot!

It's a fun thing to do, especially if you are cooking for guests. I'd recommend it for the variety (as opposed to going out to a restaurant).

      • Thank you for the helpful feedback! :)

another one of these companies? ugh…. terrible idea.

Any news on when your avatar will be updated Wellington?
Personally think you should go with the sheep + ice cream design.
Would love to see that at the Olympics (getting another bronze after we beat you at everything)

  • wellington the rep has good customer service skills.

    • I live in New Zealand, so definitely not a rep, but thanks anyway! :)

  • do u need to sign up with a credit card?
I expect that they will continue to send you fruit and charge u until u remember to cancel ur membership!

    • I tried a 3-day classic bag on a trial once. I was offered a trial on the phone, after going to their booth @ the Good Food & Wine Show. And yes, billed by CC.

There is a setting in their website that allows you to turn off the weekly delivery function.
