  • what is this used for?

    • :S

      Dusting things keyboards, PC components etc. Anything you need to blow 'dust away' from.

    • I used it just today to clean out the missus' Shuttle. Man, I did not realise how bad it was. It was caked in dust in some parts. I didn't think I cleaned it that long ago but it seems to get so bloody dusty in this house so easily.

      Put everything back together and it was purring sweetly.

      • Is your missus an astronaut? I was thinking shuttle might be the new word for car but you wouldn't keep a car in the house…

  • Not saying this isn't a good deal, because it is.. but longer term (sometimes shorter) getting a cheapish comrpessor is probably the way to go, my Arlec enforcer came with a seperate tank you could fill and take anywhere you need to basically replacing my need for compressed air aerosols :D

  • Thanks for the post good job mate!!!

    Same thing. I was after some air dusters, so I looked DSE, Officeworks, MSY, etc online and noticed DSE was selling them half price as per the link.

    http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefront/4b4d477501f6c50…

    When I went into the store, the price on the shelf still had the normal price, but the cash register showed the discounted price.

  • Are there "use by dates" for these? Thinking of getting some while it's cheap for later use

    • ummm….it's air isn't it?

  • Agree with thefunkygibbon. Get yourself an air compressor. I got one have never been happier! good for all sorts of stuff. Including blowing the crap out of the inside of your or your neighbours PC. Oh and get yourself a rattle gun. Makes changing tyres and undoing nuts easy plus they sound cool in the shed (impress the neighbours)

    :-)

  • Hey all… thefunkygibbon interesting idea re the Arlec enforcer, what sorta $$$ on this item and pressure.. dont really want to blast my pc away just clean it up abit… and I dont have any strong desire for a rattle gun….. but yeah interesting… and you say it a good deal but no + ouch brother :}lol

    mightyhawks23 - no expiry date, don't think it works that way… www.helmar.com.au is their site, ask da ???

    kamp - nice find on the web page :}

    KEEP DA DEALS COMING PEOPLE - GOTTA LOVE THIS SITE… BARGAIN CENTRAL :}

  • Also handy for detailing cars!

  • I've heard some air compressers spit water out which can damage your hardware. How are you meant to know which ones are good for cleaning computers?

    Thats the only reason why I buy compressed air.

    • Hi Samfisher5986,

      I believe it's more to do with the humidity when you compress the air, if there is a lot of moisture in the air then there will be more in the compressed air you have. On air compresses there is also a value that you should undo once every few times you use it (when the tank is empty) to let out any built up water. I've been using a compressor on PCs for years and never had a problems (and I do it reasonably requently).

      • I'd highly recommend buying a water trap attachment before you go blasting rusty tank water all over the inside of your PC ;)

    • compressed air could also spray out moisture (mainly due to the condensation, as the can drops in temperature), so only use small/short bursts.

  • Got a twin pack for $8.49 today. Thanks!

    do you mean by 'using compressed air to clean out your pc'. Do you mean blow it up in there to clean out an old pc that is slow and get a new one?

    • Computers accumulate large quantities of dust over time (their fans draw it inside the case) and so you would be surprised how filthy the inside of your PC is. Some people like to clear out the crap build up every once in a while.

    • THAT'S MY CONCERN WITH THE COMPRESSOR, AND NOW YOU MENTION WATER….

      THINK I STICK 2 MY POST :} $8.49 X 5 STILL CHEAPER THAN NEW MOTHER BOARD :}

      LOVE THE FACT PEOPLE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THESE FINDS :}

  • Got a few of these today from Rhodes shopping center. Still some left. Great deal.

  • confirmed at southland store. the sales person had to go "out the back" to get one, as it wasnt on the shelf

  • I got 3 packs yesterday at Endeavour Hills. Not sure if they have anymore out back.
