This will probably be the last QC2 deal for a while as a lot of new and exciting products have arrived in stock that will be posted in the coming weeks.

I'm always open to suggestions though.

    • +2

Do you have a two port one?

ie, charge wifes iphone6 and my LG4 at same time?

      whats difference with this one

      http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Tronsmart-Dual-USB-Smart-Car-…

      Thanks

    • +1

I'm partially retracting that statement. I've been given coupons for both the MicroUSB Cable Pack and the 5 port QC Charger, so I'll post them soon.

  • bought one for my wife's note 4.

  • +2

So one per account only, right?

    Airmail ( 30-40 Business Days)?

    • +2

That was the reason I didn't purchase.

      • +3

This is standard for products coming from China. I live in Aus and it usually takes 3 weeks to reach me.

        • Might be moving so I just can't take the risk. Bought from you guys in the past with the Tronsmart Orion. Really happy with the product. Just took about 1 month or more to arrive.

        • You can get it shipped to a work address or such as well? Unless thats changing too ofcourse.

    • I bought two items seperately previously, both received within two weeks.

      • 3-4 weeks is acceptable like Banggood.

So they actually charge in USD, right?

        • +1

yes, that's why I always use my 28 degrees card for paypal payment.

        • +1

          @couger:

Thanks bought one anyway for my zenfone 2 and for around $7 doesn't matter.

          First time with geekbuying.

    • Went to check out until the shipping days…30-40 business day…Might get it before Christmas…

  • Looks like the coupon code is only for option WITHOUT the usb cable?

But the description said it comes with a cable?

    • +1

I've confirmed that the cable is included with the charger linked in this post.

      • Thanks upside down jv. Bought one.

        • Thanks. I'm tempted to become an upside down TA next… unless someone copies that idea (maverick-au).

    • +2

      Not worth a negative vote.

    • +3

      @kevin22
I agree with Shonky, to neg the deal based on your reasoning was wrong imo

    • +4

You do realise that this is coming from China right? This is standard with a lot of these sites posted here on Ozbargain. It literally costs a couple of dollars for them to send 100 or so packages. That's why it's free.

      • +1

I often wondered how cheap it was.

        • I also wondering why so cheap on shipping ….

        • @superforever:
I too have wonders about the shipping……..

  • $7.33. Is this essentially just a 2amp charger? Still a reasonable price for one, if its better than the cheap Chinese crap chargers.

    Join?
    Provide phone number?

Yeah, I dont care why, not everyone requires it so obviously its not NECESSARY.

    • Sort of. Its a 2amp charger from what i can see, but Qualcolmms quick charge allows phones to charge using 9v instead of the usual 5. Much quicker. Im guessing theres some sort of chip inside that can tell when a appropriate phone is connected so it doesnt push 9v into a 'normal' device?

      • +1

        Up to 12V actually.

Also it's quite small. I can leave it in the socket and close the cover in my car which I like.

        • 12v! Nice! Surprised the S5 doesnt support it. Oh well, i find my S5 charges pretty quick anyway. Normally just over an hour from dead flat to 90%.

        • Thanks Cheese

Shonky, I have the 2a stubby ones now from Officeworks.

        • @cheese510:
Yeah I have an S5 too. It has the right CPU and/or hardware but Samsung didn't implement it for some reason.

        • Up to 20V actually. But there're not so many adapters utilise 20V.

        • @overlord:
This device will only go to 12V.

        • @ozdavo:
          Incorrect:

Version 2.0 supported four modes at varying power levels, 5 volts/2amps, 9V/2A, 12V/1.67A, and a 20 volt option

The 20V version is hardly ever used though.

        • @Shonky: Yes, there is an option to support 20V in the QC2 spec, but it is not a requirement, and cannot be expected to be found in most QC2 accessories. AFAIK the 20V option was included in QC2 for laptop charging, not mobiles?
QC3 on the other hand, requires 3.6V to 20V in 200mV increments.

        • @ozdavo: QC3.0 will support up to 12V. In theory you can increase it to 20V but none of the future QC chips support that.

        • At a guess it will have a licensing fee or extra componentry that they decided not to add.

My Zenfone 2 has it, and it rocks, just bought this for my car though.

    • +1

Phone number is printed on the shipping label. It's something that the shipping companies ask for if something happens.

My main post explains exactly how the charging works.

  • +3

Bought one of these recently. It was DOA. They wanted videos to prove it was faulty. I sent a couple of photos tested with a bench supply. Then they wanted to send a replacement with another order i.e. I'd have to buy something else. Then they wanted to send me an $8 "gift" with my next order or give me a $5 refund (I paid $7.30). I asked for a replacement or a full refund. They eventually relented although the refund has not been processed yet.

It's not the money - it's the principle. Not terrible service but a bit slow to respond and I had to push to get what I wanted. They could have asked me to send it back though too.

    • +7

      Not terrible service

Based on what you wrote, it sounds like pretty crap service to me…

      • For a $7 product what can you really expect? They did give me what I wanted ultimately. And I did actually order something else but they couldn't organise to add a replacement in time. I didn't appreciate the stuffing around with partial refunds and mystery gifts though.

        • +4

For a $7 product what can you really expect?

I'd expect a prompt refund or replacement, no questions asked… Why would they waste your time and theirs stuffing around for just $7…

        • +1

          @jv:
If I'd returned it sure. They have to have some protection to prevent people just buying and then saying refund/replace.

        • +1

          @Shonky:

I've had a couple of cheap faulty items I'd bought off ebay the last couple of years.

Each time, they apologised and offered a refund or replacement, no proof requested, no need to send back faulty item.

    • I can ask them to process it quicker if you want.

I've got them to be a lot more helpful to Ozbargainers.

      • Thanks. I've only just accepted their offer so see how long it takes first.

  • +1

Got my charger from the last promotion a few days ago. Only took couple of weeks. The charger and wire are well built

  • i still haven't received my charger from the deal in July :(

Their response wasn't very helpful.. saying to wait

    • Send me your order number. I'll follow it up.

      • 3395788

        Thanks @Clear

        • Someone will be in contact with you soon with a refund. They always take the extra step for Ozbargain.

        • @Clear:

          Thanks for helping out

    • Same, they told me to escalate to paypal dispute, currently in process being reviewed by paypal.

  • hi clear

  • No more tronsmart? Sounds like a reason for a final sale with the lot on offer

    • +1

I've had about 20 coupons now on the Tronsmart range… maybe it's time for a break?

      • Never. They are like eneloops - ozbargainer kryptonite

Plenty of coupons and you've been great. The variation in products means I never quite caught what I was after personally, but so be it

  • +1

Any chance to get a discount code for the 4 or 5 ports wall charger with this feature?

  • What's the risk of this screwing up my car?

    • +2

Essentially zero. It's just an accessory. Worst case a fuse blows and you replace it.

  • but i bought this for $2 on ebay - still going strong

    • +2

      Link? You sure is QC2.0?

  • Anyone else having toruble logging into website.
So frustrating, have changed password 6 times.
each time when entering the 'code' in the checkout part, ask you to sign in and then says password is incorrect.
chnage password, attempt to log in again, same pop up appears.

Ive reset cookies , deleted temp files etc, without logging in, cant input code into checkout section.

will try again….for a 7th time, or leave it.

Ive not bought anything from geekbuying before………….

    • aaaaaand, I give up. 7 times is enough.

cant sign in from the log in page nor the checkout page………….

no sale tonight from geekbuying, the pop up telling me the password is incorrect is getting old.

      • Able to try with a different PC or browser?

      • Yeah, try another PC or at least another keyboard. The shift key is busted on the one you're using.

  • Still seems to work and no issues with login, password or code…

  • nawww. So no powerbank with Quick Charge 2.0 deal anytime soon?

    • If Tronsmart or similar decides to release one then GB will stock it.

      • Ohhh, so GB don't stock products from people like Anker (or is this going too much into what's personal for the business?)

        • They typically stock products from China and Hong Kong. They'd have to import Anker from the US.

        • @Clear: Nawww :'( I wanted to enjoy 60% by 30 minutes with power banks. I hope Tronsmart starts selling the powerbanks with QC 2.0 then. Thanks :)

        • @Oversimplified: I'll go and harass one of their engineers on Facebook :P

  • I am using my Tronsmart QC Car charger for the last about 2 months and I can say that up to now it has performed to my satisfaction without any issues with the car.

    • +1

Agree.. i have the same experience
      . Seems a solid unit.

  • If you connect an iPhone to this charger - I assume you won't get the quick charge? Would it just be like any USB car charger for an iPhone since it's not QC 2.0 certified ?

    • Correct. Only Android phones with certain Qualcomm Snapdragon CPUs are compatible.

This will still charge quite fast.

      • Not necessarily; manufacturers can license the technology without needing to have a Qualcomm CPU. The Galaxy S6 (Exynos) and ASUS ZenFone 2 (Intel) come to mind, and both support quick charging.

  • I registered and got an email confirming registration but when i try signing in it says "email not registered"

  • +1

    Thanks!

  • What about iPads? Will it charge them faster?
    Cheers

    • No as they do not support Qualcomm's Quick Charge. It will provide up to 5V/2A though (i.e. 10W).

      • Wouldn't it support 5.1V blah that iPad uses (which was slightly larger than what Android uses)?
I dunno, the power stuff is slightly over my head, especially iPad stuff.

        • "5.1V blah"?

The iPad looks to use 5.1V at 2.1A to eek a little bit more out. They seem to claim that's 12W but is actually only about 10.7W but an extra 7% over 10W can't hurt.

This charger will supply 5V at 2A so near as makes no difference to an iPad charger.

        • @Shonky: The question I had on it was more of based on what I've heard (which has no backing). I've heard that iPad and the charger somehow interacts to check the voltage, and if the voltage is lower or something like that, iPad charges much slower. So instead of seeing it like a continuous thing (where if it can't charge at max, charge at next available charge rate), it does it discretely (if it cannot charge at maximum rate, it charges at the smaller wattage that iPhones charge at).

I am not sure whether this is valid or what I've heard was a complete bogus.

        • @Oversimplified:
That device being charged itself can control the rate of charge. Some devices (not sure if Apple) will increase charging current up to a point where voltage starts to drop and then back off i.e. they'll pull as much as the charger can supply.

There is also a bunch of variations of resistor networks that are supposed to signify what type of charger is being used. There's no standard for this so it's all a bit variable. It's unlikely this device will provide the signals an iPad will expect but that doesn't mean it won't charge at the full rate.

QC 2.0 actually communicates rather than some dumb signals I believe. Doesn't really answer the question but only way to really know for sure is to try it preferably with a USB power monitor to display current supplied in particular.

        • @Shonky: Confusing… Though thanks. I think it's more clear to me now at least :)

  • +1

    Got one thanks!

  • +1

Just bought one. Although shipping with take 30 - 40 days, still a good bargain. Thanks!

  • Trying to buy two of these. The first one adds to the cart ok. But if I add a second one, the price jumps to $18.91 USD (should be $4.92 x 2 = $9.84 USD).

  • +1

I bought a Tronsmart QC2.0 car charger (1 QC port 1 2.1a port) and works tremendously. Would reccomend!

  • Excellent, I've been waiting for something like this for a long long time… thanks OP! :)

Something I didn't know I needed… but definitely have a use for with my Asus Zenfone 2!

  • Any chance for a repeat of the 4 port one? (missed out)

    • Maybe, but it would be next month sometime.

      • awesome :-)

      • Thank you, I want a couple of the 4 port ones too (or minimum 3 port). :)
