  • I havn't been following the MicroSD deals but relative to other deals, is this a good deal?

In terms of the 64gb ver, yes I think it's the cheapest its ever been. The 32gb evo was as low as $9 awhile back.

    • actually I think pcbyte's deal from a few days ago on the new sandisk bargain basement "ultra" cards was a better deal

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/212134
was $34 but the speed vs this card is significantly different.
I think all suppliers are trying to clear old stock now if the cheapest sandisk card can do 80/50 speeds. (this card does 48/15 speeds)

        thanks for thsi.
Even though they advertise the read speed at 80(sandisk) 48 (this card) I am guessing it's really the write speed thats more important for recording photos and videos - meaning the new sandisk you mention is a way better buy.

It really depends on what you do with your camera.

When you take a photo your camera writes to a fast buffer, then the buffer is emptied onto the card. Photos don't actually get written directly to the card. So if you don't take rapid-fire shots or many consecutive shots, this card might be perfectly fine for you, especially if you shoot JPEG.

It's definitely perfectly fine for the standard-bitrate (under 30Mbps) full HD video that normal cameras shoot. 4K will depend on your camera's bitrate. If you're doing 100Mbps 4K video I would definitely get a faster card. :)

  • Nice one. Still looking for a card for the dash cam a lot of us grabbed here last week and people have been saying these Samsung ones work best with that model.
    Cheers.

  • MSY has it for $29 on special if you are able to travel and pick it up.

    • No, that is for the full size SD card. This is the micro SD card.

Is this good enough for a gopro?

    • Would like an answer for this too. Specifically, the Hero 4 Silver from the deal last week.

    • Class 10 card yes its good enough. 64gb is overkill for a GoPro though considering the battery will run out long before you fill the card.

It's convenient when you're on holidays - you can store several days of video without needing a computer to empty the card out to.

  • Cashback links show a different price.

  • best deal for sd card so far, grabbed one already, thanks op

I have a unisurf win 8 tablet I use as a seedbox. Is this card fast enough for that or is it worth paying extra for a faster one? Thanks

    • It'll be too slow if you're crushing a 150mbit+ fibre connection. In which case, you can probably afford a better seedbox. Otherwise yes of course it'll be fine .

  • Pretty good bargain

  • Anyone received their card yet?

    I'm still waiting

    • still waiting

      • finally arrived
