  • Loveeee them

    • :-)

    • +1

I love the flavour but I found them too dry and hard! I like it a bit softer. But that's all preference.

      • Is that what she said?

      • yes, they are too hard to chew. Bad for teeth.

        • hard is good :) I'd eat a kilo at a time of the soft stuff.

  • +1

nice! ive still got a fair bit left from last time, i suspect im the reason that there's a limit of 50 per person ;D

    • +2

Says per order, not per person… so by that you should still be able to put in multiple 50 bag orders?

    • I still have most of mine too, but not because of quantity. Even at 50% off, the stuff is so expensive, I save it for special occasions.

  • +2

    lol@Jaybo. eat it up buddy

  • Is it halal?

    loljks I dun care.

I'll get some when I can decide on which flavour I like. I love spicy things and chilli, so I might get the hottest one.

    • Better not be!

    • I got 'Flaming arrow' about a year ago and it was insanely hot!
See comments below, apparently the heat level varies from batch to batch.

  • Is there a page with all nutritional info? cant seem to read the tiny images you have on each flavour.

    • +1

Keep clicking on the photo and eventually you can click on an enlarged version in the product's page.
      Here is the original: http://i.imgur.com/Wxa79Ii.png

Lots of salt per 100g, but a 40g packet wouldn't do much harm.

  • +6

    Some feedback - I purchased 10 bags in a previous deal ($3 40g bags).

I found there were inconsistencies in the spice levels of the hot flavoured jerkies.

Majority of my purchases were with the Flamin Arrow (the hottest) and was dissapointed to find it was not as hot as I expected it to be. I was not sweating beads.

But I tried my other packets, namely the Sidewinder - and found that was MUCH hotter than the Flamin Arrow, sweating beads and requiring water.

If I knew the Sidewinder would be hotter, I would have purchased more - unfortunately lucked out by buying the hottest ones assuming it would be.

Otherwise - the quality of the jerky is great and when sales are on, the price is right!

    • +3

I find sidewinder typically the hottest too but not as much of a lingering heat.

The flamin arrow was different piece to piece, some were burning continual heat and some were not a lot at all.

      • so yep - some inconsistencies there (quality control).

the batch of flamin' arrows I had - was disappointing - in some cases, I would have called them 'mild'. which is pretty shocking for the "HOTTEST" of their range.

        • +4

Yeah I once got a batch of flaming arrow and it was 10x hotter than any other batch I have ever had. It was almost inedible how hot it was and I've have other batches that weren't hot at all.

    • +1

Totally agree, great jerky but I'll stick to sidewinder and stampede now - wasn't overly impressed with the ones "hotter" than sidewinder.

  • where's my free sample?

    • Its a deal..not a freebie. Nice try though. Would bet that if you're a regular customer (give or take a few years), you might get one… Funnily, try asking your retailer for a free fridge, or TV, if you've shopped there for years…for a free sample…unlikely. Don't know how TightArse does it…

      • Tightarse: I represent a community of tens of thousands of Australians. Give me a deal or else!

Never got mine so I've been reminding the OP everytime he post his new deals

        • haha I remember that

        • +4

@massari: i remember this, will NEVER FORGET.

  • Can we come into the store to buy them at the discounted price?

    • You can order online and choose free pickup when checking out.

      • +1

Seems like local pick up is disabled, won't let me select it. Would be easier just to go down there and get some.

        • +1

Interesting, I see that too. I did try removing the coupon code from the cart and choosing pickup but the screen kind of greys out like it's loading and then the radio button changes straight back to postage. Might be something wrong with the website - big chief, you reading?

        • @bonezAU: Mine automatically selected local pickup option and let me change it to posted

Edit just seen this in the post

    Alright, I'm sold!

  • I decided not to order last time but couldn't resist this time. Got myself a 10x 40g order :)

  • Sweet deal. I've tried Pow Wow and Blazin' Saddle in the past. Blazin' Saddle, while really nice tasting, it was just a bit too spicy. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE spicy foods and can handle it, but because they're so morish, you end up with a deep slow burn on your lips as you funnel them into your mouth. I'd only go Flamin' Arrow if you're wanting to challenge your mates. My mate had a sip of Corona to wash down a Blazin' Saddle and it.. quote.. "Set my mouth on fire" haha.

I'm hoping Sidewinder will be a better balance of spice and flavour, especially since Habanero is my favourite chilli flavour.

  • 30 bag order yesss sir

  • I love this jerky. But still more expensive than the larger bags.

    • +2

      500g bag is $55

      13 x 40g bags x 3 = $39

      • +1

        My math skills are appalling.

        Thanks.

        • :-)

You think yours is bad…..mine is horrible

  • The Mrs is gonna hate me after this…

  • Sold. I will become fatter. Thanks

    • +2

A google search says otherwise ;)

      BEEF JERKY

WHY YOU THINK IT'S BAD: It's unhealthy meat that's loaded with preservatives.

WHY IT'S NOT: Beef jerky is high in protein and doesn't raise your level of insulin—a hormone that signals your body to store fat. That makes it an ideal between-meals snack, especially when you're trying to lose weight. And while some beef-jerky brands are packed with high-sodium ingredients, such as MSG and sodium nitrate, chemical-free products are available. If you have high blood pressure, check the label for brands that are made from all-natural ingredients, which reduce the total sodium content.

      • As long as it's not loaded with sugar like some are. I think this is good if I remember correctly.

        • The Pow Wow flavour has quite a bit of sugar, but all the others are low carb.

  • +1

@GeronimoJerky - i bought a load in the last deal. I kept them in the bag and had to end up throwing them out as they went as hard as leather and were just damn horrible to eat. Should they be stored in some specific way immediately on arrival?

    • +3

      Hello Cam501,

Best way is to store them in the cupboard. If they are too dry for your liking then stick them in the fridge for a while and it will soften them up :-)

      Big Chief…..

      • for the fridge is that with the packet open?

        • Either or but I would keep it in packet so it doesn't absorb anything in your fridge.

    • +1

hard as leather? sounds like perfect jerky to me. I want my jerky to last - I want to burn more calories trying to eat it then it provides.
That soft stuff I'd eat by the kilo.

  • Bought, going to send to a friend in Japan. Thanks OP!

    • Is he big in Japan? I'm big in Japan I'm big in Japan I'm big in Japan

  • Can a regular of this fine food offer an opinion?

I like a bit of heat/spice - but I dont want my mouth or my end on fire. For instance, Tapiato hot sauce is perfect for me. Im thinking Sidedwinder, is that gonna test my limits?

    • It's kinda hard to say, because the batches can differ quite a bit. For instance I didn't find Flaming Arrow as hot as Sidewinder / Blazin' Saddle, but your mileage may vary depending on the batch. I think Sidewinder was the most burn for me from memory. But they're all tasty, so why not get a bag of each :)

      • +1

I jumped in the deep end. 10 bags of mixed flavours.

        Cant wait! =)

  • Perfect snack for the keto diet. Awesome!

  • Website is slooooooooooooooooooow

  • +2

Easily some of the best jerky around; another order placed, thanks big chief!
Ps, are we ever going to see a sale on the bigger bags?

  • Mmmmmmm, looking forward to these yummies!

  • Thanks Chief.

Ordered a bag of each to try them all.

  • +2

Thanks Chief, love love love the Pow Wow.

Any new flavours on the horizon?

  • yes
    yes
    yes

    Thank you Big Chief.

  • Hi @GeronimoJerky,

i'm putting an order in for 50 bags (5KG satchel) but it's only coming up with the 3KG shipping cost…

    what to do

    me.

  • erh merh gerd I love you. thanks!

P.S. I find flaming arrow isn't the hottest in your range. In fact I had some people try it who found it kind of mild.

  • Bought some. Hopefully the blazin one isn't too hot.

  • Like beef jerky in general but are these really that good?

  • +1

Can anyone compare these to the one's they sell at Woolies or Coles?
The Jack's Links are one sale this week and they're half the price of these.
I suspect they are better but are they worth the extra money?

    • +3

      These are completely different.

These taste like real jerky for starters.

  • Time to stock up!

  • I also want to know if anyone has tasted Jack Link's Jerky and can provide some feedback?

    Currently $4.54 for 50g.

Also for the Muslims out there - the Jack Link's jerky is Halal certified :)

    • IMHO Geronimo tastes more 'healthy' whereas I can taste a bit of MSG in JL. Also JL is far softer than Geronimo.

    • Just bought some today at coles for half price.
Chewyness varies but it is mostly soft. Taste also varies, but the majority had just enough flavour to be decent. The continuous chewing also doesn't any further flavour. It is like gum after the first 10 chews.

  • I must have been too lazy. Ordered about $200 during the last 50% sale and still have 10 packs left…

  • Just wondering if its Halal or kosher certified ?

  • Either I'm doing something wrong or selecting the wrong option, but the 320g variety bag is still showing in my cart as $40.

    8 bags at $40 = $5/bag?

    Forgive me if I'm wrong but, 40g @ $3 (discounted) per single bag comes in at 8 bags @ $3 = $24??

Do we need to process the order as individual bags, seems like a stuff around (on my phone at least).

Only noticed the difference because I added 2 individual bags to make up 10 per order.

    Happy to be corrected.

    • Bought anyway. One variety pack plus 2 extra bags, plus a 2nd order of 10 with a mix of 5 different flavours. Love jerky but first time with the chief! See how we go!

    • The code only applies to the 40g bag.
As the bigger bags have already slight discounts incorporated, I don't think they would put those on 50% off sale.
You needed to purchase Multiple individual 40g bags.
IE 4 x 40g Pow Pow bags will come up as $12 after discount without postage

      • Pretty sure I answered my own question and the end result was only $4 overall BUT advertising a variety pack as 'better value' is misleading and more so in this instance because the OP even stated, "try all 8 flavours at half price."

I'm rarely picky and could care less about minor details and bickering but since you called me out without reading my own post AND my own solution, I feel I should at least respond.

The above would loosely imply that "try all 8" = variety pack. If being REALLY picky, variety pack at $5/pack is only $1/pack cheaper than RRP, so hardly a saving even at RRP.

        And……. (cbf continuing).

        Looking forward to my purchase.

    • Hello Db87 this is a deal on individual bags as stated above in description of deal.

"THE DEAL- 50% of all 40g bags and all flavours. Code word is 50%off *this does not include our already discounted variety packs and is limited to 50 bags per order."

      • Gathered as much - went and bought anyway. thumbs up

        Love my jerky!

  • what's the original price on a 40 gram bag ?

  • How do we know when our order has been sent out? didn't get any confirmation or anything sent to my email.

    • +2

They normally add a note to your order (and you should get an email of this) saying it's been posted. At least that's what they've done in the past with mine.

      • Thanks for the reply, do we get any confirmation after we paid? because i didn't get anything. I haven't gotten any email so far since ordering on wednesday, just want to see if this is normal

    • +1

Your order will be from on-hold to processing (means payment has been cleared) to complete (item sent) and email with tracking number is sent-

As stated above please allow ten working days.

      • I got an email saying my order is complete but no tracking number. Any chance you could send it through? Order #4409

        Thanks

  • Deal has expired (Coupon no longer valid).
I missed out waiting for a response :-(
I'll make sure I get in next time.

  • These are amazing, but they're a little too hard for me. I'll stick them in the fridge for a while. Now you need to do biltong.

  • First time customer.

Arrived this afternoon. Already smashed a bag without even blinking.

    Great stuff Big Chief!

  • Anyone else got theirs? Mine is still showing as processing on the website

    • Same here. Still processing.

    • I got mine a couple of days ago.

  • got mine on friday in the end. not bad
