      • Awesome work! Managed to grab a few Crucial SODIMM memory upgrades :)

  • +1

It also works retrospective as well providing your order hasn't shipped.
Thought I had to cancel my order but you can add gift card funds to an existing order.
Was hesitate to buy the gift card value to the entire order but it might work since you aren't technically updating the payment method since applying gift card amounts is separate from the payment method.
Tempted to leave a one cent amount outstanding but in the end settled for the $1.

  • I know I am late to the game (I don't have an Amex!) but can anyone confirm if the only "no fee" Amex card is eligible for all these Amex promotions. I see many promotion for Amex but am always confused if the promotion are limited to Bank issued card or Any Amex card.

    • I used a prepaid Amex travel card loaded with $US

      • The travel card seems to have a fee for initial loading $15 and reloading (1% or AU$10 whichever is lower) .
Wouldn't getting the no fee Amex credit card be more of a bargain? Just wondering…

I used the Velocity no fee card and it works for this deal.
Use glowstix method and buy amazon gift cards to the value of your order using either 28 degrees card etc.
Get the bonus $10 off mentioned here. $10
Just tried on my order and you can actually pay off the entire order with the gift card and still get 15% off. No value needs to outstanding and charged to the amex card.

        • @gunnie: how does it works? like i have 28 and amex card in the account. i buy gift card $150 using 28 then the ssd cost like 130 and i pay it using amex?
or i will get the discount as long as i and a amex card in the account?

@edw0000000: I just received my Amazon shipment, arrived after only 10 days, one week earlier then the website said. I used my 28 Degrees card to purchase a $150 and a $200 gift card. I sent it to my own email/amazon account. I then went through the checkout process and paid the remaining $15 with my mother's Amex card. Worked like a charm! I am going to do it again today, with my father's Amex card this time :D

        • @zan5hin: so you don't need to spend $100 or did you use the GC to make up the $100 ?

        • @drb: I have done it twice now, I just had $100 worth of stuff direct from Amazon and used GC to cover the full amount minus a few dollars.

  • Does the payment need to be in USD or AUD?

    • No idea but given that the conditions require a USD100 spend, I'd say stick to USD to be on the safe side.

    • You will always get the worse exchange rate if you ask the foreign merchant to charge in their none home exchange rate so stick with the foreign currency or get a 28 degrees card.

  • One thing I don't like about my Amex issued card is that they will charge you a foreign transaction fee for a refund as well. With my other cards, they charge you a foreign transaciton fee on purchase but should you get a refund, they provide a credit back for the foreign transaction fees. While for Amex, they will charge their foreign transaction fees both ways.

  • Thanks, just saved me $50+ dollars. I used the 28 degrees gift card trick too. Thanks for the heads up!

  • Does this deal still work for anyone? Trying to buy some things on Amazon and the discount is not applying for me at checkout.

    • worked for me 1 hour ago!

      • yeah it worked for me eventually when i removed a couple of items. Looks like it's not ALL items that ship to Australia is eligible… If any ineligible items are in the cart during checkout the discount does not apply.

  • So spend $100 get really 12% back?

15% amex funds but -3% conversion fee?

    I don't get it?!

  • Use the giftcard offer also

Buy a GC with 28degrees for $50 and you get $10 credit also from amazon which is a current offer.

  • I think it may be possible to earn an additional 5% cashback until 01 Nov. with Giving Assistant from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/216165.

  • Can't find any DJI Phantom 3 Professionals to ship to australia :(

  • any buying recommendations appreciated

  • The 15% off still works surprisingly. Makes me wonder if they screwed up the 12,000 orders limit or if just no one is buying.

  • -1

The USD is a real deal killer.

  • +1

    15% off finished?

  • is it possible to search for items sold by amazon?

  • Expired :(

Was going back for 1 more time but doesn't work anymore.

  • Hi all - sorry to ask, just wondering if this deal going to work for shipping within USA too?

    • Hi all - sorry to ask, just wondering if this deal going to work for shipping within USA too?

      NO and it's expired anyway!

  • but pay by AMEX card issued from Australia?

  • ohhh this deal does not work anymore?! : O was thinking to buy few things and ship them to Australia too

  • In the end, didn't get anything. Couldn't get enough to reach $100 without adding some work stuff, then with the stuffing around thought it would be hard to claim back properly if I used the store voucher trick. I almost got a Crucial SSD that would easily go over the amount, but the Futu Samsung deal was better in the end.

Oh well, sometimes spending money is so hard! LOL
