  • Good deal.

    OP could also add Seagate 4TB backup plus portable from Amazon currently at US$169+6 shipped but can apply 15% off when check out with AMEX. This will be the best price of the 4TB 2.5" HDD and this one from COTD is the second best.

      do you know if the seagate drive or the samsung one is better?

      also, do you happen to have a link to the amazon seagate drive>?

      • +1

        The Seagate uses Samsung HDD inside so I suppose they should be same model.

        • ahh ok. contemplating which one to get. the amazon one is $260 aud delivered but i trust the amazon warranty MUCH more than catchoftheday. which one do you think would be better to go with?

          @safwanc:

          You need to weigh up Seagate VS Samsung for warranty, not Amazon vs COTD.

          But if you did, you would rather send back a product overseas than locally? Wow…

        • @c0balt:

          Actually I bought kingston ram 2 years ago from amazon that became faulty. They instantly sent over a new one as soon as I told them over chat (arrived in 2 days), put the faulty one in the same box and sent it over (they paid postage).

          Super fast, hassle free, no questions asked. much better than trying to deal with the manufacturer yourself

          Had similar experience. Amazon's return policy beats anyone else hands down. Their express shipping is surprisingly fast too.

    Any good deals on 1tb usb powered hdd?

  • Does anyone know when this special ends?

  • Can't decide - is it worth $90 to get rid of a power cable?

    • for me it is worth the convenience, especially since I use a laptop with a 128gb ssd. i tend to carry my portable drive around with me everywhere
