Found the 1 month ad on the back of my receipt tonight and came on to find they also have a 2 month free deal too! New subscribers only though.

Not sure if they stack but perhaps let me know in the comments if they do :)

I'm surprised Presto is still around.

    • netflix AU has over 1 million subscribers, presto and stan combined have less then 100,000, makes you wonder how they are still around

      • These figures are not totally correct. Netflix has over 1 million viewers but that counts people with higher tier subscriptions which allow for multiple viewing. In reality they have around 400,000 actual paying customers.

Also presto and stan have over 100,000 customers each, not combined.

        • If you subtract Ozbargainers using Optus Free Bonuses they are probably the same.

        • @Steptoe: yeah I assume all 3 calculations include the free trial. That would be a huge percentage of users.

curb your enthusiasm!!! I have about 2 months left on a free trial to finish it

God I love it when Murdoch companies fail miserably.

This older deal is still working - 6 months free, I just used it & signed up 2 days ago & it is still active - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/204097, beats this deal.

Boom! Yes this still works, thanks!

  • They are bringing on HD content now (not sure what is HD or not though) and may only be through the app

    • Too little, too late. Their SD quality was so bad (way worse than SD Netflix) I don't ever bother watching it despite having 6 months free.
I'll give it one last chance if quality has improved but I've got a feeling it'll be less efficient with bandwidth compared to Netflix

  • In my experience with Presto, only advantage over Netflix is that it has Entourage.

  • Does anyone pay for presto? I got it free through telstra and there is hardly anything worth watching - let alone the fact that it hardly works on many devices, i.e. no app to work on roku, etc.

  • It had too many troubles for too long and Presto seemed uninterested in addressing them (SD only, not supported on too many media players, ongoing Chromecast issues, etc). That and their content isn't exactly mind blowing (most of the shows they have that we want to see are on FTA TV anyway).

I suspect they've fluffed the honeymoon period, lost their mojo and I doubt they'll get it back. Netflix and Stan seem to have the market now.

  • Said it in a previous post, but its a decent experience with a t-box. Netflix reigns supreme though.

This just made me realize to delete my account, last time I signed up was back in June for their 6 months free. Only used it that day.

      Same

  • Is there some way to get Presto on the Boxee Box?
Or is chromecast the only way?

  • Presto is shit, don't even bother with the free trial it's not worth $0

  • PPCA299812815 - $29.98 presto.com.au/join
Received this in my COTD envelope of spam, not sure if generic or a unique code, I'm not going to use it, hope it helps someone.

  • Don't bother signing up for Presto, even for free. Nothing is on there. More importantly, if you forget to cancel they'll start charging you automatically.
