  • hi , au stock?

    • nope

      • This $70 worse than what I paid, disappointing

  • -5

    Nice deal.
But This colour is so ugly…..
I prefer to spend extra $23 and swap to metalic gold.

  • +5

Was $458 days ago via ebay.

    • -3

Thanks for telling us… days late

    • +2

I like how I'm getting downvoted for this. Someone below makes the same exact comment after mine and they get upvoted.

Information about price fluctuations are always helpful to people looking for bargains.

      Thanks for posting.

    • I got mine on this deal and I'm loving it!

  • Good deal, pretty much the same price as the Kogan group buy

  • How much is the phone usually?

  • +3

Last week, with the ebay 15% discount, this was sold at about $458.

    • -1
      • 22 cash back, calculating using the original price of $539. So this is $70 worse and the phone is older, so it should be less value
      • +3

Well, to be fair that deal isn't available anymore… so this deal is technically the cheapest RIGHT NOW.

        • +1

Exactly. That deal comes up once in a blue moon.

        • Still the key for an Ozbargainer is patience, good price for this phone would be $399 around xmas time…

        • +3

          @Davo93:

But why buy this Christmas? Why not just wait for Easter?

        • +1

Good one, people always get shitty about information from previous deals, like they want them to be censored or something to not make them feel bad. However like a previous poster eloquently put it; "Information about price fluctuations are always helpful to people looking for bargains."

      • +1

How did you calculate $22 cashback?

From what I can see is

        539*2.5% = $13.475

        • 4% cashback with another company

  • edited

  • I lost a bet to my son. I have to get him one of this before school starts next year. It should be around $450 around Christmas.

    • What was the bet?

    • you can just bail on fulfiling your end of the bet agreement

And chalk it up to life lessons to demonstrate that life isnt always cut and dry fair in the real world

      …but really youre a tightarse

      • and for not getting the terms written down, because im sure you actually meant next years christmas

        • Contracts are not usually enforcable against family members anyway.

      • And chalk it up to life lessons to demonstrate that life isnt always cut and dry fair in the real world

Great phone. I'm getting poor battery life with mine though. :(

Take a look at the battery consumption on each app. If it is app dependent, e.g. my friend's son uses a lot of Instagram, which used lots of battery even on standby. But if the main battery consumer is "Android system", then you need to start the troubleshooting process.

      • Mine has 26% as android system..

What would the troubleshooting process entail?

      Here's mine: http://i.imgur.com/nJQdif9.png

I'm on 3G, so that saves a bit over LTE. Onavo Count is using a lot more than it (the older version) did on my S4, so I might end up ditching it. Other than that, I find I get excellent battery life in standby with fairly average-to-poor with screen on. Better if I force screen to be dimmer, of course.

        • Nah, not for me. Tried that kind of thing in the past, and they're basically app killers with a fancy name slapped on top. Won't do much for screen or foreground app usage, which makes up the majority of my consumption.

      • Trying power saving mode now, seems to help a lot. :)

        • Ok this was using predominantly powersaving mode and autobrightness.
          http://i59.tinypic.com/eqyonm.png

From 100-90% I didn't enable ps mode. Still got close to 3 hoiurs screentime out of 50 percent battery. Thats a huge difference and performance is still good.

        • @Ronnnie:

Take a look at the location setting, on some phones if left turned on it can suck the battery try in a few hours, especially on lollipop.

        • @Brotality:

Yeah I always disable location settings. It's good on the LG and Touchwiz that they have a quick toggle to turn it on and off. :)

Battery life is fine if you use powersaving mode and autobrightness. Get through the whole day easy, and it doesn't hurt performance that much. I didn't think powersaving mode would make such a huge difference, on my note 4 it would get worse battery life with powersaving enabled.

Mine is pretty much the same, Only getting about 2hr 30min screen on time.

Why would I buy at this price when 1. it was cheaper two weeks ago by >10% and 2. Better phones are about to hit the market?

    • +2

Who knows when it will be that price again and those other phones aren't going to be cheaper than this.

    • +3

Link to these new flagship phones at $500 price point?

Got my LG G4 from last deal, compare to my previous Samsung S5, i'm happy with LG G4. However, my personal opinions, I like Samsung screen more than LG G4.

Another issue with my LG G4, it starts to get uncomfortable warm after you play game or browsing internet for an hour. I have to turn on power save mode to cool it down a bit.

    • I agree screen is better on Sammy. The screen on G4 is still excellent. ☺ Camera is better than my sammy and the performance is better too. Only have issue with battery, every other aspect makes it best phone I've ever owned.

    • +2

I beg to differ. S5/S6 screens oversaturated. The colours are not natural. I prefer LG screen. G3 wasn't bright enough but G4 fixed that

      • Just use basic mode which makes the colours realistic. I prefer the better blacks and whites, and the sammys are easier to see outside.

        • Basic mode makes things too warm, especially the white… Just can't get it right :( getting rid of my note 4.

        • @clse945111:

Is it really that bad? The note 4 is still a good phone.

  • This is an excellent phone for the price. I paid 615 for dual SIM version and couldn't be happier. Best in class camera for sure.

  • If the free shipping applies to all products, then this is a good deal too for the Canon 55-250mm IS STM lens: https://www.eglobaldigitalcameras.com.au/canon-ef-s-55-250mm…

It's normally over $200 with shipping, maybe closer to $220.

I upgraded from a oneplus one thanks to the ebay deal and while I mostly like the phone I friggin hate the volume buttons so much… I know it's only a tiny thing but I just can't see myself ever adapting. Like others I found the battery life to be quite disappointing as well. Also don't go much on LG's version Android, it's been a lllooonnnnggggggggggg time since I didn't have a custom or completely vanilla rom on my phone/tablet. I'm hoping CyanogenMod comes to the rescue on that front at some point.

I gave the oneplus one to my mum but I'm seriously considering taking it back off her and giving her this instead.

    • Yeah, I'm in the same boat; coming from a OnePlus One.
The sound from the dual speakers one the OPO is pretty good, the battery life if reasonable (for the most part), and Cyanogen is great. Even trying to find the power button between the up/down is a tough ask on the G4. And the screen on the OnePlus One is bigger because the buttons aren't soft keys that take up screen real estate.
There's a lot to be said the the OnePlus One.

  • +1

I come from an S5 and I reckon the G4 is so much better. Ive had The g4 for 4 months now and the volume keys are like second nature now. Give it time guys.

    • I agree, due to the size of the phone rather then holding the phone I find I rest it in my hand, by doing so my fingers naturally rest in the centre of the phone right on the volume /power buttons.

  • is there any one have experience with their Economy Express Shipping? It does not have any insurance lost

  • I got the G4 and its an amazing phone. Used it for a day before storing it. I really want to keep it but I do a lot of usage one handed. The size is important to consider and curved back made it annoying to use on a flat surface. Otherwise volume and power buttons on back was great!

    • only a problem if you have small hands. Works fine for me

  • When you guys get your phones, please check for marks on the screen. A LOT of them didn't get done properly and have marks where the coating wasn't applied properly. I returned two G4's, one to HN and one to JB because of this. Gave up on the G4 because of it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/screen-coating-is…

  • so i go my photo today, and the box wasn't sealed, and the phone was faced done with the leather back upwards. Are these refurbished??

    • Shouldn't be, ask them for explain or ask for a replacement, mine arrived in a sealed box in great condition. Really happy, where can you find this phone for this price

      • they said "Thank you for your message. Often, we will open the box of the item for QA purposes such as to ensure that all accessories are included and correct charger will be provided in order for you to be able to use the item in your country.

        Best Regards,
