    It's a national offer…

These are 1/2 price quite often through Coles & Woolies as well.

  • And remember, put them in the fridge after opening.

    • straight away, not just after opening

also check that there is plenty of time until the expiry date

      http://www.nature.com/articles/srep07928

      • expiry date was around 2018 when I checked.

    • Really? Cannot find that instruction in box :(

      • fish oil contains omega-3, a polyunsaturated fat which is easily oxidised due to heat (storage, cooking, sunlight, etc). ditto for other pufa vegetable oils. consuming rancids oils is probably doing you no benefit. bottom line: don't leave your pufa oils sitting on the window sill or in a hot cupboard.

        from https://www.choice.com.au/health-and-body/medicines-and-supp…

"Just like any other edible oil, omega-3 will oxidise over time – a process where oxygen in the air starts to decompose the oil causing it to become rancid – so store it in a cool, dark place and pay attention to the use-by date."

the first link i provided was to a report that found that the oxidation levels in many fish oil supplements, straight from the shops in nz & aus, were above the recommended limits (as well as not containing the advertised amount of omega-3)

    • I put half a pack in the fridge and the other half in the old pack outside the fridge.

That way the other half are fresh when I need them. If you put them all in the fridge they will absorb water (because they are cold) every time you open a big pack.

      Surely?

  • Blackmores Fish Oil 1000mg 200capsules cheapest price is about $7-$8

  • I am not knocking the deal, but a word of caution. I was eating a lot of salmon, and taking the occasional fish oil capsule, and when I had a blood test I was found to have a very low platelet count. A specialist warned me off all seafood and related products, and he said "An Eskimo won't die of a heart attack, but if he spears himself in the foot, he will bleed to death." My platelet count has since gone back up.

    • My platelet count has since gone back up.

Wow, you're busy like a rabbit! Nice to see someone appreciate the curves of a real plate again.

  • I wonder if other species eat human oil.

  • This is a pretty normal price for the Blackmore's Fish oil - you can get the odourless Blackmore's fish oil 500 pack at CW for $27, which is $10.80/200 for the odourless which are normally quite a lot dearer.

It is just marketing BS - I cannot remember EVER seeing these for over $20/200 for standard fish oil.

  • Where is the fish oil made in?
