I would imagine after 17 days you would be ready to get of the boat and based upon the $63.10 per person per night fare is better value. It appears this shortened itinerary can only be booked via cruiseabout.

SHIP
MS Volendam
The beautiful garden theme of the ms Volendam is reflected in an artful floral motif throughout the ship's spacious public rooms and elegant staterooms. "Flowers" can be found in abundance in the forms of floral fabrics and tapestries, as well as huge vases of tropical floral arrangements and chrysanthemums. In addition to fresh flowers throughout the ship, Holland America Line has drawn on its collection of incredible artwork to enhance the interior of the ship's public spaces. Everything from pre-Columbian fetishes and sculptures to Renaissance-era fountains imported from Italy are included in its hallway galleries. At the heart of the ship an elegant sculpture by Luciano Vistosi, inspired by the myriad of moods and colors of a kaleidoscope, greets visitors in a soaring three-story atrium.

  • OP, it would help if you put the cruise company in your title, and if not possible, at least in the description. It's a major consideration point for anyone contemplating a cruise.

After reading briefly online about this ship… It's for old people…. They run computer courses, painting courses, pilates an have a black-tie formal evening twice a week…

Most cruises are for older people to be honest. I worked as a stevedore during university and the average age of passengers is about 60. I'm not sure why young people ever go on them.

      • And now I know what a stevedore is…. Thank you, Sir!!

I can just imagine 200+ OzB riffraff taking over the ship for a discount party

Amway will be there to host the party, or Tupperware.

Most nursing homes want more than $63.10 a night. Can I book 19 months for grandpa?

    • Yes. Some live in the cruise ship. Cheaper than nursing home. Food included.

  • Have been on Holland America lines a couple of times. They are excellent. Yes an older crowd but the food is much better than many of the lines like P&O and we have had a great time whenever we have been with HA. I wish I could do this one as is an awesome deal.

  • Sounds like one for the golden oldies but its got my vote :)

very good of you to put in the price per night; most cruise sites make it hard to fathom out and show cheapest prices for 4 etc rather than twin share, or even singles; a great cruise for the price but I am overseas at the moment in wonderful malaysia enjoying the photochemical smog disguised as haze and measured at the 10 micron level. singapore measures it as 2.5 microns. so does indonesia which created the problem.
