  • Thanks.
I was warmed up to getting this, now I have to try to work out if the speed difference is worht the extra $30

  • Does Futu provide a tax invoice?

    • +3

it should but if you didn't get 1 when you received the parcel, you can always request for 1.

      • Thank you.

So many SSD deals! Not enough $$$$ :(

I think I'll buy this when I get home. I ran a performance test on my pc today and it said my existing 120gb SSD is the worst hardware in my PC lol. Time for an upgrade.

  • How could I set this up as an external hard drive to connect via Thunderbolt 2 to my iMac?

    • The chassis required to mount for thunderbolt cost more than these drives. Try eBay for 2.5" Thunderbolt 2 enclosures/chassis.

  • Damn, how do I know if I got the voucher? I don't see anything. I used paypal but not my normal account just CC through the PP portal.

    • I would not worry too much, I also got nothing about it from Ebay but on reading the details more on the offer it says they will send out the voucher on November the 1st so I guess we will get it then.

    WHERE ARE THE 1TB DEALS???

Lots of 500 and lower SSD deals on OzB at the moment, but nothing for the big ones. I'm eyeing off a Crucial MX200 but I need the prices to drop a bit more.

    Damn…

    THIS or the SAMSUNG??

(I prefer Samsung for the brand, but I know this isn't the full story…)

I use Crucial. They're fast and reliable. I've had a crucial 60GB in my rig for 3 years without any issues.

I'm yet to use Samsung but everybody seems to recommend them.

I'd say go with the best deal. Both are good.

  • I've had this 500GB SSD sitting in my draw for about 8 months. Can't be bothered to install and re-install. I should make an effort but… OS is installed on faster Samsung 256 GB SSD.

  • Thanks TA!

Do you think it is possible to have a deal on 120GB mSATA drives? Have two spare slots in my gaming laptop so considering whether to fill them through current ebay promotion…

  • Wondering if this will suitable for

      • Thanks

I asked sony online chat. They said 2 things
        - not recommended to change hhd
        - they dont know, open up the hhd bay.

When questioned, they said vaio laptops arent design to be customised, only thing that is support is additional ram. Not sure if thats just bs though, as the hhd is easily accessible.

this model should be over 1 year old, so it's out of their warranty unless you have purchased extended warranty.
If you decide to try it out, please make sure you google on how to replace your hard drive with ssd.

There's also guide on crucial website
          youtube/pdf to assist first timer.

          @ShoppingExpress:

I said the same about warranty. Looked it up on the site, seems like it is compatible. So ill go for it. Worse comes to worse, if it doesnt work. Il put it n my desktop pc which is only rocking a 120gb ssd (and struggling for space).

          Thanks for you help!

        • @flylin:

          you are welcome :)

      • I happened to be looking at their advisor just before coming here. The trouble with it is, you still don't really know what physical size you need. Because they just quote everything as: "7mm SSD, 9.5mm adapter bracket."

Hi, I'm new here and very interested in this. Can someone confirm that if I wanted the 250GB SSD for $118 & $50 Voucher does that mean it I would pay the full price of $118 and then I'm given a voucher of $50 to use for that same ebay store? And do they send you the voucher after you pay or something?

  • Just wondering, are there any good deals for NAS/HDD bundles? Need one direly.

  • I'm going to buy this on November the 1st when they send out the vouchers. I purchased something else for over $200 so when I get my $100 voucher I will use it to buy this for $18 if they are still available then.

  • Is there a general recommendation between the Crucial BX100 and the SanDisk Ultra II?

Apologies if this has been covered already, but I've read through both posts and didn't see any direct comparisons. I'm looking to get my first SSD, and for the 250GB models they're about the same price.

    Thanks for any advice.

From what I've read, mostly on Tom's Hardware, the Ultra II and the BX100/MX100 (similar performance) work out to be almost indecipherable in performance. And given that the Ultra II is priced above even the Samsung Evo (best performance out of this mix), the Crucial wins this round, if only on price and shared performance.

  • eBay isn't accepting my payment with the voucher for an item I bought a few days ago… I wonder if this is a condition on the voucher. Seems a bit poor…
