Optus Customers Save $50 on Their First Airbnb Stay

Coupon entitles the recipient to AUD50 discount coupon for a single booking costing at least AUD100 (excluding Airbnb service fees and cleaning fees).
The booking must be completed (including host acceptance) using the promo code (supplied by Airbnb) before 11.59pm ASDT time on the coupon expiry date 31st December 2015
Valid only for registered Airbnb users in Australia who have never completed a booking on Airbnb.
Not transferable to another user or redeemable for cash.
May not be combined with another Airbnb coupon or discount code.
Any subsequent refund will be limited to the amount actually paid.
Coupon codes may not be supported on older versions of Airbnb's mobile apps.
Airbnb reserves the right to any remedy, including denial of the discount or cancellation of the user's account or reservations, if fraud, tampering, violations of Airbnb's Terms of Service or technical errors are suspected.
*Business, Mobile broadband and Standalone TV accounts not eligible for this offer.

    Just tried to sign up on the Optus site by validating my details.
    Screen just proceeds to an Optus Business Bundle page after hitting validate button.
    Perhaps Airbnb should have create the web portal for them.

    At this point, doesn't appear to be working.

    • Worked fine for me, after validating my details I did get a coupon code.

      For anyone else experiencing issues, the message i was getting was

      "Hmmm. The details you've entered don't match what we have in our system. Please check you have entered the Account holder details correctly.
      Click here for more information or chat now."

      Contacted Optus chat and they told me this……

        Seems you may have to register with Airbnb before trying to get the code via Optus. They may crosscheck account info(?)

  • Optus website seems to hang on a circular waiting glass when I try to verify the number, and no SMS is received. Anybody else experiencing the same thing?

    • Exactly the issue I have experienced.

      Tried everything imaginable.

      Laptop, different browsers etc

      Contacted optus on chat and call centre.

      They don't even have a way to contact whoever owns/manages this promotion.

      Just hit dead ends and no solutions anywhere.

      Total and complete lack of organisation by a marketing team that does not have the faintest clue on how to run a promotion like this.

    Total disaster so far

    Enter details.

    All it does it just hang on the screen and does not send the sms code to mobile.

    Optus Pre paid here

    Nothing wrong with phone or service.

    Receiving SMS from other mobiles.

    Online chat team refers me to telephone customer service.

    Customer service transfers me to technical support.

    Technical support says you need to talk to Customer Service.

    No one has a clue how to fix the problem.

    Just a cat chasing it's tail disaster.

    Would welcome advice from any Wizard out there who can solve this problem.

    Not good look for AirBnB and Optus brands.

    Optus customer service is completely useless.

    No one knows how to activate this offer.

    Total Misleading and deceptive scam.

  • FYI this works twice if you have a homephone + broadband bundle (use the username and phone number separately). Obviously you will need two new airbnb accounts

  • Hopeless, I tried to register using my optus home phone number and got an error message "Trial exceeded, contact Chat Now".

    I also tried registering under my broadband username and got the error message "Account details not found on the system, if you are new customer check again in 48 hours" - that was over a week ago since I first tried.

    I contacted Chat Now and they couldn't help and told me to go to the nearest Optus Shop. I somewhat doubt anyone in an Optus Store can help.

    Tried that but no success.

    Hopeless & helpless Optus helpdesk support - bounced you around from Optus AirBnB team to technical to Sales (even trying to flog you another postpaid service) to anyway wasting all your time!

    Heard from their helpdesk team member that lots of customers are having the same problems as mine - account/ details not recognise when I've a valid number and still making and receiving calls!

    Does not work for me called Optus after spending 30min over the phone. They escalate this as they don't know what to do ? seriously !! can someone tell me if its working for them today ? i need to book accomodation today or i might not get it.

    I have tried all possible ways. First error message is
    Oops! We're unable to locate your details in our system. If you're a new customer, it may take up to 48 hours after activation for your details to be updated.

    Now I am getting a message that I have already reached the limit.

    I Called optus and they know nothing about this airbnb. Hopeless Optus customer service.

    Does any one have any unused codes.?

  • I have tried to use the code on a trip that came to exctly $100AUD, but it came up with error "Code requires trip to cost at least $100AUD" I have asked te host to bump the price up by $1 and I will try again…

    I've never stayed at a Airbnb place yet, but have already booked two places for my trip to Nihon.
