  • For anyone interested, just extended our Voda sim-only discount for 6 months (not contracted).
$40 sim-only plan, $15 discount so $25/mo for 3GB, and whatever else the $40 sim-only plan comes with.

Usage is mainly on weekdays and comes in at ~1.5gb/month. Minimal calls/text.

  • Time to finally move away from the $26/m 5GB Woolworths (now optus) plan I think. Really want 4G!

    • +1

Rang Optus a couple of weeks ago asked if they would activate 4G on same plan (old Woolies $26/45 day/5GB)
      (no dice)

      Optus is shithouse_slow on 3G

  • Hey guys I am currently with optus 2 dollar days ($60-$120 per month but I get 15gig-30gig) is this deal better value for data?
I use my 4g tethered as my main internet source.

Also if I buy the sim card at $20 do I get included credit or is that just the cost of the sim?
    Thanks

  • +2

The blithering idiots at Boost sent me an expired sim card. What a genius move.

    • I had the same issue too. Chatted with the live chat rep; they wanted me to go out and buy another $2 sim to activate the number and then credit $40 into the new sim card. So you are out of pocket $2 and your time to run around doing errands on their behalf.

Is it even worth it to go with Boost/ Telstra given the first impression isnt that glam?

Personally I opted for a refund, when compared with other telco providers, they are more pro-active in sourcing new clients and are more willing to do more to ensure customers are retained.

      • So far: 30 minutes boost live chat, 45 minutes waiting on a phone. Complained on facebook and have emailed a manager.

Many others may be having a positive customer service experience but I can only speak for myself. Boost customer service so far is bad.

    • Both of mine expires in 2017. Thumbs up from me.

      • Had 3 goes on the activation website before success. This was at 4.30pm today. Needed to port over from Telechoice and it was all over and done with pretty quick. 18Mbps down and 1.*Mbps up.

Sorry to hear that others are getting expired SIMs :( I need to get one more so fingers crossed.

    • Got mine in the mail today also, expired on the 4th of October…. Not happy

    • Mine came expired too and they have basically done nothing to fix it but pass me onto the next helpdesk 4 times

    • The customer service has gotten even worse. No chance at all I will be ever using Boost Mobile.

    • To give another update - I still haven't received a refund for the expired sim. Just terrible customer service.

  • hmmm, im contemplating a new iPhone 6s outright with this deal. Works out $5 more expensive over two years on virgin postpaid with only 9gb data/month.

you would think that over 24months, these deals would only improve either in $$$ or data, so would be favourable.

The schemer in me could then sell the 6s and upgrade with the new phone in 12 months…..

    decisions decisions!

  • Activating my sim online and it says this in the product description:
    2GB Every Sunday
(will revert to 1GB every Sunday after October 26 2015).

Can anyone tell me if this is the case? Only ordered the sim 2 days ago. Do I need to call customer service?

    • I thought I saw this somewhere too when I was desperate to find a contact number to call them.

Good luck trying to call thru, it took me 1hr 27m and it's still not resolved.

    • For anyone else, Just spoke online to customer service and they said they haven't updated the activation website and it is indeed 2GB of data each weekend.

  • I noticed unlike Telstra prepaid where the recharge is always going on discount few weeks/ months at a time, Boost doesn't seem to have discounted recharge.

Anyone knows how to get Boost discounted recharge? If there is a way to get discounted recharge, it night be worth the hassles.

  • How does their customer service compared to Jeenee Mobile?
Would consider a move since Optus is quite bad where I live..

  • Don't bother with them. After 3 hours overall on 3 separate occasions of livechat/phone calls they still couldn't tell me where my sim card was or why it hadn't been delivered after 10 days. I never even got sent the tracking number for it. When I contacted them I was told to wait 24-48 hours for the delivery. After that I was told to wait 48-72 hours more. Useless. I just asked for a refund.

  • .. buy online B4 11 July, 2016 .. does that mean it has 2B activated by 11 July, 2016???
