Orders are a list basis, so where you are on the list you will receive your camera, so get in quick.

Value for Money: as you are aware a DJI Osmo is worth around $1099 AUD, but also if you were to buy just the GoPro Hero 4 Black Edition it's worth around $550 and then you would have to buy a gimbal starting from $300, anything else like this kit is worth over $850, that brings this Roxor camera to an absolute bargain $330 AUD delivered, if we see the footage and final specs is good it was worth getting on the list, so don't miss out.

    • The vendor has a feedback score of 1 (which do not even get those feedback score symbols for the score). I wouldn't buy from the vendor who has feedback score less than 2 diamonds on aliexpress, especially if it is as expensive as this one. Looks too dodgy.

      • OPs link has no feedback, you going to trust a random website over aliexpress?

AliExpress is like eBay, the store you've linked pretty much is too suspicious for me to recommend to anyone. They are relatively new store (They opened this year, June I think it was), they have only one positive feedback for their entire store. I think you'd not pay for something on eBay if the store is like that.

In terms of what OP posted, do they have a feedback system that works like eBay store? No.
I have no clue on whether what OP have posted is "trustworthy", but I can say that the aliexpress link you've linked looks too much like a scam.

          @Oversimplified:
I guess I could say you've never bought from aliexpress….

@tuzii: Sure, that's why I constantly go there and posted few deals from them here. I was the one who've suggested changing the rules on Ozbargain for posting deals for AliExpress recently.

    • Isnt it almost the same delivered price? OPs link is $199 delivered.

        Total Price:
        AU $282.05

        so $50 AUD Cheaper..

US$199 and supposedly starting to ship in 2-3 weeks, yet with very vague specs and no prototype or test footage - just a product render.

Plus they've not made a camera before, so while the gimbal will (likely) work great, the camera will be the let down, in performance, battery life and interface.

Guessing the 32GB maximum TransFlash (ie, MicroSD) is because they don't want to pay for ExFAT.

    • I read in a forum that more specs and test footage will be released by the end of the month. The point is if the camera is good quality you have made it on the waiting list at the cheaper price, if you are not happy with the footage or new specs, you can always cancel and get a refund, on top of that pay with paypal for your safety.

      • 2-3 weeks for demo footage is the same as the shipping date???

Clearly, they do not have a prototype ready.

The time it takes to go from prototype to shipping, even in an industry you are familiar with, is not short.

        Look,
I respect that this is a good price vs competitors if the product turns out to be real. It COULD be a great deal.
BUT good luck, best case scenario is that they deliver the expected quality with a 6 month delay. I think you're ignoring that. You're playing a game of risk vs reward, and even if you get the expected product in the expected timeframe, your decision making process is bad because effectively you are gambling (the manufacturer is ignoring VALID requests for proof which ARE doable if they really are shipping soon). I would wait for more information to get a better balance of risk vs reward.

Not even released yet, all kinds of sketchy specs. How can this be a bargain?

    • Not that sketchy there is a lot of backed up reviews and details about this deal, just google the camera, its on a lot of the Pro Production websites now. Here's the forum the the guy from filmpower answering questions and backing up the specs - http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?341220-ROXOR-Filmpo…

      • Right, you claim it uses the same sensor as DJI but it manages to have a 20MP stills? The rep in that forum which I am a member still hasn't answered as to if it indeed gives 20MP stills.

How can there be reviews for a product still in 3D rendering stage? Provide us some links to the reviews.

        • Their pre-order page contradicts itself, claiming both 20MP and 12MP stills.

They can get 20MP by upscaling, which can look great if done right but pretty poor when done cheap (there's plenty of cheap cameras that upscale lower resolution video into 1080p so they can boast "Full HD"). Yet it's unnecessary in most cases, especially for stills, you're better off doing it in post where you can control it.

The two-hour battery life claim seems to be another "put a number higher than the competitors" figure. They are powering a 4K camera and gimbal, and expect to be able to double the battery life of the OSMO and GoPro. If only it were that easy, DJI and GoPro would be doing it already. There's got to be a trade-off somewhere.

It'll be a camera on a gimbal. Whether or not you can get quality footage out of it will be another thing.

Hmm, I'm in two minds about "pre-orders"… if a company has never released a similar product AND doesn't have a working sample… you might as well equate it to a kickstarter campaign - and you don't see those on here!

If they HAVE made something very similar in the past… I guess it's fine…

    • Have you even looked at their website? They've built many gimbals, so they know what they are doing there, the only thing is the camera, which these days there are a lot of companies releasing cameras with their gear, even Dji made their own camera with their drones for the first time and were surprisingly good. I understand we have not seen footage yet, but you may miss out on the deal if the quality of the images are actually good, the price can change any time.

      • Yep champ, I looked all around their website, fb and twitter… nothing more solid than a render and a list of specs…

You're right - they look like they make a solid gimbal… but that's almost ALL mechanical engineering… at least with DJI etc who make drones they have experience with electronic engineering… more directly related, no?

If it turns out to be good, it will probably sell well and be available at a similar price soonish.
If it turns out to be bad / average, it will likely be even cheaper and sooner, lol

    • Any word when your camera will ship?

      • I've read in a forum 10th of December it will move out, said by the company in a forum, but I don't know exactly.

      • Even if the brief 2-second live action snippets were actually shot with the ROXOR camera, you can't judge quality since they've plastered the light-leak effect over it, and it's not 4K. I think it's just generic footage, not ROXOR, otherwise they'd post some 4K demos.

        • I'd agree the specs only list hd, they haven't said anywhere 4K specs apart from photos maybe, but it's the only video I've found I'm surprised the company has not released a proper video in English yet
