  • Wow thats cheap for a 2TB 2.5" portable!

Samsung or Western Digital is the question..

  • How do you price match at office works? cause usually when stores price match they have to be close to the rival store which in my instance it isn't close to Harvey norman

    • Shouldn't matter as long as there are stores in the city you are in

  • +1

Burning the candle at both ends there Trent. Good work mate.

  • Interesting, might be the market for another one, is this the best price these days?

  • Are these both compatible as an external drive for Xbox one?

    • +1

As long as it's USB3 and bigger than 256GB it should work. I'm using this WD currently and it definitely works fine :)

Don't for get the $25 voucher for sign up bonus for those who have not done yet :)

    • minimum order $150 tho

did anyone know the samsung can be used for internal or not? thanks

    • I'd like to know the drive inside. Apparently the Seagate Expansion Portable 2TB is best for a PS4 upgrade and it has a Samsung drive inside. It would be good if this had the same one inside.

  • Thanks for posting this deal. Went to Harvey Norman in Noarlunga and they actually had stock for once! Still in shock but thanks again.

  • standard SATA drive in the samsung? or is it like the WD with the circuit board attached?

  • +1

I believe both of these have USB connections on the drive itself, i.e. not for PS4 and such.
    Could someone confirm?

    • Just look at the length of the drive compared to a bare 2.5" SATA HDD. If they're about the same, then you're looking at a USB connector in the PCB Drive.

  • Wait, was not Sumsung exited the HDD business few years ago? I thought they only do Solid State tech now.

    • It's actually a Samsung/Seagate drive. It'll say Momentus on it as well, if you open it up. Seagate bought Samsung's hard drive business.

  • Got a price match for the WD at North Sydney Officeworks. Thanks poster!

  • Price beat the WD @ Office Works for $106.20ea. Grabbed 2 and plenty of stock.

    • How did you get 10% off the diff?

Its a good price, but does not have a good benchmark against others in the same category. http://usb.userbenchmark.com/SpeedTest/5483/Samsung-M3-Porta….

    • Look at the actual site, it comapres usb keys with this disk, the comparison is irrelevant. The m3 is ranked 53 in 575, and rank 1 is a Ventura Ultra USB 3.0 240GB, which is a usb key. So comparatively speaking the m3 is doing very well.

  • Thanks OP.

Was actually looking for two new portable 2Tb HDDs so bought two of the Samsung ones.

Also threw Star Wars Battlefront onto the order to tip the order over $300 to get my $50 cashback via Amex. $38 for SW Battlefront is nice!
