  • Has anyone heard of or tried this stuff before?

    • +7

Yes. This jerky is seriously good. The best I've had, and I've tried a lot before.

    • +2

Yep, had it many times before. It's great stuff. My favourites are pow wow and buckshot.

      • +1

Sweet! Will grab 10 packs to start. Mmmm, delicious protein packed goodness. Thanks guys

    • +1

Tastes good, but way too hard. May increase chances of cracking your teeth chewing it…

      • +6

        Thought you had fake teeth?

        • +4

That's why his teeth cracked…it should be alright for the real teeth though.

    • +2

Yes and it's spectacular and nothing like any other beef jerky I've tried.

  • +12

Tried all 8 flavours last time this deal came around, was not disappointed in the hotness of the Flamin Arrow. Opened the pack, put some between my lips to walk to the sofa with my drink, got to the sofa and felt like my lips were burnt off.

    10/10 would burn lips again.

    • +1

My God, what was it like coming out the other end??

      • +2

I gave my brother a bag, he couldn't help telling the whole family what it was like coming out..

        • +5

well good for him coming out to the whole family…………..

oh not that 'coming out' :)

          good jerky tho

Sometimes it's better for the family when kept in the closet

        • +1

Sounded like chilli jerky with beef flavour!

      • even more hotter and burning sensations

    • Im a huge fan of chilly but Ive never tried something so hot I got stomach pains immediately after eating it. It had me beat

    • So is sitting in front of the computer too long.

Go on, go outside, and leave this deal alone for those who want it.

      • Go outside?!! And breath in all those airborne asbestos particles?! Oh god no!

    • +2

Not sure what he's being downvoted for. Don't shoot the messenger, he's just trying to make sure his fellow ozbargainers make informed decisions. The WHO on the other hand however with their Class 1 categorization of carcinogens have been very misleading. For instance they class the ethanol in alcohol as a group one carcinogen, like asbestos and tobacco. However worldwide, about 3.5% of cancer deaths are attributed to alcohol; about 30% are attributed to tobacco. Its not relative at all - I can only assume they wanted to shock people into being more aware of cancer. Don't agree on their approach but hey if it works then power to them. Cancer sucks.

      • We will because the messenger is wrong in this case as they're confusing processed meat with dried meat of which there's a HUGE difference. It's the processing, and possibly cooking, that creates the carcinogens.

One uses a mechanical and often chemical process to turn meat into something that doesn't even remotely resemble the raw ingredients. The mechanical processing here is cutting meat into strips and the chemical process is adding flavour and letting it dry.

Yes most Jerky is highly processed, plastic like crap such as Jack Link's (and I suspect another brand that sometimes has deals on here) but this isn't even remotely like that as anyone who's purchased the product will know.

      • +4

Their classes of carcinogens are about their certainty of the association with causing cancer, not about the amount of risk. Class 1 just means that it 'almost certainly' causes cancer but does not mean that eating processed meat is as risky as taking cigarettes. Media reports and lack of clarity means that most people either don't take any of this information seriously, or take it way too seriously.

  • Saw these on here a while back. Recently spotted it in a WA bottle shop and gave it a try, was tasty. Order Placed.

  • Great price, it makes the jerky $75/kg, down from $90/kg when purchasing a 1 kg bag.

    Thanks Geronimo!

    • Actually it is $95.63 per kg after you add shipping. Not cheap at all.

      • Where did you calculate $20 shipping? The op has shown shipping at $8.25!

        • 10 bags (40 g) x $3 = $30 for 0.4 kg + $8.25 shipping. The total for 0.4 kg shipped comes to $38.25 which equates to $95.625 per kg

If you order 30 bags (1.2 kg), the total price will be $86.042 per kg shipped.

  • Thanks OP another order spew!

I might do a big deal in time for Christmas :-)

A few 1Kg Big boy bags would fit so well under the Christmas tree ;)

I know I would easily dry out my bank account for some of your dried out goodness!

  • Cheers, bought 10 bags, am looking forward to tasting the jerky.

  • Giving it a shot, ordered 10 bags.

  • +7

50% off anything is a good deal but I still can't get over paying $75/kg for beef even after the 50% discount.

    • +7

From memory it's about 3kg of raw beef to make 1kg of this jerky so, if that's right, a fairer comparison is $25/kg which isn't ridiculous for top quality beef.

Then compare it to pretty much any other jerky and see for yourself not only why it costs more but why it's worth spending the extra money.

      • If that's the case that's fair enough! I know I am paying around $25/kg for the premium sandwich ham/chicken for my kid's lunch. So I think $30 - $40 would be acceptable.

It would be great if the Big Chief could clarify that. I will actually buy 2 x 10 bags too.

        • +1

          Found his post for you.

Given how many posts I've made I feel I need to state I'm not a rep and my only relationship with the company is as a very satisfied customer.

        • @Rutger:

          Wow thanks for your time.

I see that's when JV complained about chipped teeth from eating beef jerky lolz. I only had a chipped tooth in my whole life and that was from biting extremely hard on the bone of a t-bone steak.

        • +3

          Hello DarkOz,

          Yes, It is correct-
We use 3kg of the best, leanest grass fed beef in Australia. The issues I have is Geronimo has been in business for 5 years and in that five years the price of beef has increased by 100%. This is due to many things but mainly the export market so all most of our beef is going overseas. This along with general running costs of any business adds to the total price.

Over this time we have only increased price of 200g bag by $1. The 40g, 500g and 1kg have remained the same.

I hope this gives you a better understanding of pricing with beef jerky :-)

          Kind Regards,

          The Big Chief

        • @GeronimoJerky:

Thanks Big Chief. Just ordered 30 bags. I just hope my sons like it. They need to put on a little more weight.

One last question. Does it contain egg?

        • @DarkOz: DarkOz..lol I have a ten yr old that has it packed in his lunch box for exactly that reason, to put on weight. He has ADHD and is not a very good eater but the protein in the jerky keeps him going. He eats it because its dads jerky :-)

          Our product doesn't contain egg.

          Kind Regards,

          The Big Chief

        • +1

          @GeronimoJerky:

lolz I can't believe this. I am thinking of packing their lunch boxes with it too. One is a good eater but too active and the other is much less active but a bad eater! So yeah, Superdad to the rescue and I want them to gain weight the healthy way. They are both allergic to egg so no egg should be good.

  • +11

After eating this stuff I can now understand why dogs go wacko for schmakos.

  • +1

Bought a few of everything, from past experience I think my favourite was Buckshot though!

  • 30 bags on the way :), great stuff this

  • Got 10.

Not sure if it was a pebkac or the cart, but it was annoying that you can't adjust quantities at checkout.

You seem to need to add 1 by 1 or delete/start again if you added too many of an item!

    • +2

I was able to change quantities at checkout. I'd only ordered one of each and changed them all to 5 with no problems.

  • Any chance of being able to stuff 2 more (12x40g = 480g) in the 500g stachel?

  • +1

Just bought 20 bags. I ordered one of each during the last special and its amazing. Will go well in the mancave next to the beer fridge.

  • Tried this during the last deal.

Good stuff. Spicy Shaman and Sidewinder my 2 fav's.

  • This stuff is legit guys, the coupon code isn't a lie.

  • +1

    here we go again!!!!!!!!
i spent 38 bucks last time , i was so happy about the taste and quality and quantity (yes it was a lot !)

you got a gf when watching movie? suck it , i got Geronimo Jerky.

    • +1

I have a gf and Geronimo Jerky. I win this round Kimosabe

      • +1

then she is gonna eat "YOUR JERKY", and you eat Geronimo! wow indeed win win

        • I'm not that lucky. :-P

  • Awesome - didn't pull the trigger last time, but decided I would this time.

Going halves with a mate, so went ahead and ordered a mix of 24 bags!

  • Ordered. Thanks again Big Chief, 'twas quality seasoned beef and most delicious last time.

  • Bought 30x this time.

  • Went through my last lot of 20 so fast I never got around to checking the use by date on these. OP can you shed some light?

I'm working FIFO and I wouldn't mind stocking up but I only head home for 10 days in a month, so curious to know their shelf life.

Also, which ones, other than the chilli ones can you advise would have seeds in them? Working on a heavily quarantined island means no seeds, raw foods, etc. so I'm guessing at the least, it would count out any of the chilli ones you guys sell, but would like some advice if you can provide it.

Thanks in advance, will place an order once I have some answers. Cheers!

    • +1

Geronimo Jerky has a use by of 6 months-

As far as seeds go the sidewinder has habaneros in it which have seeds BUT Blazin and Flamin do not as the heat comes from chili oil extract.

      Take Care….

      The Big Chief

      • Perfect! Time to stock up! Cheers.

        • 30 bags coming my way! Thanks Big Chief!

  • First time trying this.. hope its good.. :) Thanks OP

  • -2

    Average deal. The 200g packs are $25 at full price. So 2 of these (400g) are $50 + postage. 10 x 40g ($400g) are $48 + Postage.
So even with half price, you're only getting a deal if you want to try different flavours..

    • +1

      What?

      It's $30+postage for 10x40g bags, not $40.

50% off $6 per bag is $3 per bag. Definitely a deal and worth it!

      • +1

Ahh, you're right, appears my cart didn't update when I changed quantities..

        • +1

yeah the cart prices stay the same, then the discount happens down at the subtotal area :)

  • +2

    1kg half off deal please!

    • 1kg half price would be great but highly unlikely. It will become $45/kg and that makes $15/kg for the premium raw beef.

I think the 1kg is already 50% discounted in itself.

  • Making me mouth water thinking of this!
Ordered the whole lot of flavors to try except the flaming arrow… I would like to be able to sit at my desk comfortably.

  • i love you.

  • hey OP, what's the average expiry dates on these? Thanks

    • 6 months :-)

  • +2

10 minutes ago I didn't want for 30 bags of jerky, now I can't wait for it!

  • I'll be buying some regardless, but is your jerky soft of hard? My mum apparently only likes crunchy/hard jerky not soft stuff (don't want to fill her xmas pres up with things she won't eat)…

    • Half an hour in a low oven will dry it to her liking if its not already. It's a dry jerky, but having said that, the moisture content does vary slightly from batch to batch.

  • Limit of $180 for this coupon :( Chief!!!

  • Can anyone explain to me how this deal is a bargain?
It would cost $95.63 per kg (shipped) when ordering 10 bags (400 g) and $86.04 per kg (shipped) when ordering 30 bags (1.2 kg).
Do you really think this is cheap?

    • +1

@Bob19 Our price of a 40g bag of Geronimo Jerky is normally $6 but we are selling it for $3- 50% off is a bargain FOR THIS SIZE.

Our 500g bags are $55 so $110 if you come in the shop and pick up 2 500g bags BUT if you came in and bought a kilo of jerky you pay $90.

Bulk price is cheaper-Many soft drinks sell a single can of drink for a much higher price then a carton.

What we are allowing is everyone to purchase up to 30 bags of any of our 8 flavours not just one flavour for $3 each which equates to bulk pricing.

      • @GeronimoJerky

There seems to be an issue with your website. I made an order for 29 packets, apply the discount code, go to the checkout, choose the local pickup option. it removes the $13.40 from the total, but in the shipping section Parcel post option is still highlighted.

Even though the total has the shipping cost removed, but the Parcel post option is highlighted, it still adds the $13.40 shipping cost to the paypal total. Can you please fix this issue so I can place my order.
        thanks

    • +1

i ordered 30 packs for 107 bucks i believe, it is okish price, but the taste is really good imo(i am a return customer)

  • +1

Was just gonna put in a 30 bag order myself (un)fortunately the deal just expired.

    • If it makes you feel any better you aren't the only one who missed it. Just found out my Secret Santa recipient loves jerky, would have been perfect.

      • I don't feel too bad, now I am not spending money on this bargain… So that's a bargain, right?

  • My Jerky just arrived, first time with Geronimo and damn, THAT IS A TASTY JERKY!

  • This deal is still active until tomorrow night at Midnight.
Their most recent Facebook post confirms this

  • Mine arrived a few days ago. Thanks Geronimo. Yum.
