  • "AC adaptor sold separately"

Huh? Since when do gameboys not come with an AC adaptor?

    • for a long time now :)

    • They dropped the price of the console to sell without adapter as most people had it already (same adaptor as the first 3ds)

    • +4

Game Boys never came with an AC adapter. AA batteries or rechargeable battery pack ;P

      • I swear at least one of my past Gameboys did, but we are talking years ago now so I could easily be wrong.

Live and learn I guess, thanks for the replies.

        • Game Boy Advance SP did. Wish I'd kept mine as the dpad was brilliant, I could do dragon punches so easily in street fighter with it. GB micro might have as well.

  • Is the adapter also the same as the standard DS? (The non 3D one)

    • +3

It's the same as the dsi, dsi XL .

    • No. Old DS has a different adapter. 3DS and New 3DS can share.

      • (Maybe the DSI/DSIXL has the same as 3DS/N3DS, I can't test that myself)

      • +1

DSi(XL) and 3DS, N3DS share the same adapter.

        • what about the plain old DSI?

        • +2

          @rodripa:
All 3DS models (original 3DS, original 3DS XL, 2DS, New 3DS, New 3DS XL) and all DSi models (DSi, DSi XL) use the same AC adapter.
Older DS models (original DS, DS lite) use a different AC adapter.

        • @Max Power:

          Thanks Max Power!

It's just a standard adapter, most people would have one in there house hold if not from previous 3Ds prob other devices like psp, console, portable CD player, MD player, remote control toys, powerbanks, Digital alarm clock, or some other electrical appliances.

    • +2

      It's not, it's a Nintendo specific one.

      • You can buy compatible $3 ones from ebay though and use a generic AC to USB adaptor. Anecdotally, the quality is variable.

  • cheaper than the last 25% off deal!

    • I really hate when Target yo-yo their prices like this.

      • it was a price drop! you can't complain about that :)

        it was $219 with 25% off, now it's $198 with 20% off.

      • +1

at least they don't raise their prices during every ebay sale like good guys/dicksmith

  • any adapters for sale?

    • Just do a search on ebay and grab the cable - 3DS cable - plug it into any USB wall charger you already have at home (phone / kindle etc)

I grabbed my cable for under $3 (from a local seller - arrived in one or two days).

  • Any Wii U deals?

  • This is a better deal for $179 without any coupon http://www.target.com.au/p/nintendo-3ds-xl-console-2-3ds-gam…. In store only.

    • +3

That's the old model? Besides, some people have small hands and would prefer to be able to reach all the shoulder buttons by getting the smaller one…

  • JB Hi-Fi is the cheapest for supported wall charger $9.95. (just did this with my boy last weekend.)

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/games-consoles/platforms/cables-ch…

    • Yet their price for the official charger is the most expensive.

anyone know what firmware the 3ds comes in?

    • i doubt op knows the exact system version, even if the op does, he might not be telling us……..

      if it is a 9.2, i would pay 250$.

      • The sky3ds supports 10.2.

        • sky is like extra 70$, 9.2= free crack and all game

  • I… I just bought this last night at $198…

  • i wish those are 9.2 or earlier system version….otherwise no use……

    • what makes the 9.2 version good? can mod them or something?

      • yep mean everygame is basicly free.

        • there's no way to downgrade?

        • @CVonC: do you know the site to download games from?

        • @awangsap007:

nope, can you please turn on your private messaging? :)

        • +1

@CVonC: unless you made a sysNAND copy when yours were under 9.2, otherwise nop, not at the moment at least…. and you need to modifiy the 3ds to be able to downgrade which i think is a minor issue for "a pirate 3ds user.

    • +1

      The sky3ds supports 10.2 now.

  • they're back in stock, 8 left. usually they restock after about midday each day
