  • Do they send you a new sim card?

    • Yes…

  • If i'm with Vodafone now and want to change to this do I just order this online? how do I keep my number?

    • +1

just order the sim online and then when you're ready to register
it will give you the option to port your number across.
make sure later to turn off AUTO PAY in the app and online.

    • when you order online it asks if you want to keep your number. It's easy.

      • Do I then have to cancel my vodafone plan? Cheers

  • Also can use code "FIVER" $5 for the first month

    • I dont think so. After entering 3MONTHS, the code box was locked.

    • cant use both codes pick one

  • Is this 5gb a month or over the 3 months?

  • Sounds like a good deal (at least for me as a backup service — mainly for the data). I assume these are preactivated again?

    • yes

      • One thing, how long will this promo go for? month long deal?

        • ends 30th november

        • @easternculture: Cool thanks for the info. I might have a go at porting out and back in (i have an amaysim number i actually like to keep using hehe) :)

    • Can you clarify what pre-activated means?

I'm looking to port over, so I don't want my current number disconnected and activated on a new SIM until I'm ready for the switch

  • +1

    (excess 7.2c/MB) not cool

    (above 5GB)

    • It's not alarming level. Only $7 per 100mb, if you do go over.

  • +1

can I purchase this deal and activate it later, say April 2016?

    • would be nice if that was possible

    • +1

I think the unwritten rule is:

      (a) New number - activated on purchase (ie. you lose the days the sim is in the post)

      (b) Existing Number (port) - user clicks button on website to initiate port. Unless 45 days have elapsed since the purchase date, in which amaysim will automatically initiate the port

    • Yeah I want to know about it too.
Because I am flying out next week and will not come back till next 2 months :/

      • +1

Just had a chat with them, if you want to activate it later, you need to inform them via chat and they will take care of it. I'm gonna leave too, and will be back in 2 months ;)

        • I'm guessing you didn't tell online chat that you are porting out for a month purely to take advantage of this offer ;)

        • @PBG:
Of course I told ;) They said the porting process will start automatically in 30 days; if you want to postpone it, you need to let us know!
That's all I understand from our chat.
though, can anybody else confirm this plz?

    • -1

I also want to know this.

Jezzzzza's answer only felt like half an answer.

      (b) Existing number (port) - then what? We have 45 days before we're forced to start the service?

If I understood this correctly, that works for me as I'm 10 days from being ready. And my wife is about 20 days from being ready. I hope someone can confirm/clarify. If this is all true, it may be bad news for the guys wanting to activate in a few months time.

Having said all this, I still have a Coles $19 Amaysim 5GB plan from months ago that I've never activated or opened. I wonder if that's still valid. Depending on the first question, I'll try activating this old one first, then use the 90 days unlimited next :)

  • Still not sure if it's $10.00 for 3 months or $10.00 per month?

    • See my post below, only $10 was withdrawn on Ing Debit card.

      • +3

I asked this in the post above and still cannot get a definite answer…

You being charged $10 does not prove anything, you could be charged another $10 the following month.

I'm still not sure up till now whether it is $10 for 3 months or 3 x $10 ($30) for 3 months. Nobody gives a straight answer.

        • Again this isn't proof, but its clear as, from the pdf emailed to me after payment -

          Unlimited 5GB
          $ 39.90
          $10 for 3 months of UNLIMITED 5GB
          $ 0.00
          $10 for 3 months of UNLIMITED 5GB
          $ -29.90
          Total
          $ 10.00
          Credit card Payment
          $ -10.00
          Total Owing
          $ 0.00
          (incl. $ 0.91 GST)

        • +3

          @Bargitrage:

If anything it shows that it is more likely 3 x $10 for 3 months, because if it was $10 for 3 months it would have shown $119.70 ($39.90x3) then -$109.70 to result $10.

        • @wildstone:
It's bad isn't it. I see your interpretation is ok, but just pay by non CC method if unsure.
I have done that. ie debitcard.

    "David B 4:03 pm
$10 for 3 months not $10 per month
    Utter bargain!!"

    From the online customer representative.
    Great deal OP Thanks

    • If that is correct, its a pretty good deal :D

  • sort of a pain in the ass to port out again after 3 months though.

    • Depends what you're on at the moment.

  • How long can we wait before activating?

    • Also interested, my Telechoice plan ends in Feb

      • +1

        I think they come preactivated???

  • -3

It seems you cannot be an existing member when you order as it gives you an error

  • Q: Is it $10/3m, or 3x $10/1m?
A: Ing debitcard account had $10.05 in it, now has $0.05 in it.
    (Visa Card Authorisations)
    Date Requested Time Details Amount
    10/11/2015 16:32 Amaysim $10.00

  • So I just picked up a SIM IN STORE, can I activate this offer on a retail bought SIM?

    • +1

No has to be sim they send to you.

    • Last amaysim deal - I bought a retail sim but they are not valid for these deals - then I contacted customer support - they then signed up with my promo code online (which usually results in a sim being sent), cancelled the sim order and then they transferred me to the retail sim in my hand… Probably the same deal here…

  • Awesome just signed up.
Want to test the Optus network at home and work.

  • Does anyone know if this can be used in a dongle or is it for mobile phone only?

    • According to a live chat rep, yes you can!

  • Sorry I'm really bad at this stuff but can I:
    - Port out of existing no contract plan
    - Do these 3 months for $10
    - Port back into my current plan?

Do I have to worry about renewals and that PAYG thing..

    • You should be alright.just make sure that u turn off auto renewal.

  • +1

i still have around 20 days on my optus sim. If i order it now, can i finish porting it at the end of my current plan?

  • When does this end??????????

I want to give a BIG middle finger to Vaya at the end of the month before I leave…

    • Nov 30th

      • Thanks mashimaro

    • What happened with VAYA? I was with vaya for 5 months and it seems all good. Just curious

      • +1

        Good on you mate.

Just wait until you get some mysterious random fee, and trying to talk to their "support" team. They may make up some bs reason and say is your fault. Other times, it's their fault but they can't do anything until the next month. They say that it will be the fixed thrnext month, so you wait… and find out the next month that nothing has been resolved, but instead they've charged you even more.

Etc. I've just passed my 2 year contract with them. I recommend them to my worst enemies.

        • I was on a monthly plan but I've already ported out to amaysim last month. Still haven't got my $20 deposit back though. Seems they are going to use it to pay the final bill. I'll wait and see.

  • Op, that's for the 1GB data plan, not the 5GB.

    • It's 5GB, but with a coupon code.

  • +2

I spoke to a rep before ordering and was told it was $10 total for all 3 months.

    "04:20:34 pm

Hi, I was just wondering if the 3 months for $10 deal meant a total cost of $30 or $10 over the 3 months
    I.e. $10 per month or $10 for all 3

    Janelle 04:21:40 pm

    ill check
    its for the 3 mnths"

Great deal if this is true!

    • Thanks for confirming this :)

  • is there a time limit to activate this offer?
or can i defer it for say 1 month when my current mobile offer ends?

    • People have been saying the sim will already be activated.

      • It can't be activated if you are porting.

  • Damn… recently ported my main number for the fiver promo :/

  • What is the cheapest plan for porting away from Amaysim, then port back in with this deal?

    • +1

      Order a free lyca/lebara.

      • Great but port to what plan? I could be wrong but I think the minimum is $19/month, is that right?

        • You don't need any plan as far as I know, you can just port in and out with no credit.

        • @fozzie:
Correct. Just did it. Ported to a $2 Telstra sim, completed in 10min, then ordered the amaysim deal for next day delivery.

  • +2

I'm just surprised at how much bs people can say. I've spoken to them and bought this plan. 1. It's 10 dollars for 3 months!!! 2. Cashrewards is available. I just got my tracking email and it says $35 dollars cashback!!!! 3. The sim is not ported till you complete the final steps on the website and enter some information. Seriously ppl I think it's better not commenting than giving a wrong information.

  • isn't it $39 cashback at qwibble?
    http://www.qwibble.com.au/amaysim-unlimited-mobile

  • Just ported a spare number from Voda to this deal, it said that the transfer process will only start once I login and click on the transfer button, does it mean the sim will come unactivated and I can hold on to it for as long as I can?

    • Yes it'll not be activated until you start transfer. But not sure Howlong you can hold it.

      • They told me "must be activated within 30 days of purchase".

  • need to know whether TA will allow cashrewards before going ahead?

  • +1

Guys, please check your bank transaction after purchase, i used the code and it showed me $10 for 3 months but account still charged for $39.90

    • I've got the same problem yesterday, contact them, cancelled the order, then reorder it, but make sure you click DELIVERY IN 2-5 BUSINESS.

      • i selected NEXT DAY and both transactions when through as $10 each

        • dont know why, but was told on live chat, because I selected 'next day delivery', so it came out being charged $39.90. She cancelled my order, told me to reorder it.

    • confirmed my 2 sales, both show as $10 on my CC

    • This happened to me as well. Online chat suggested it was due to the delivery option but I'm sure I had selected standard delivery as it was the only option available to me (is that because I'm in Perth?). Anyway they cancelled the order and I redid it and it went through properly. I did change from postpaid to prepaid and switched to an email address they wouldn't have had any interactions with before.

  • I'm so confused :(

It's asking for my current number and DOB to port number over…but I don't want to port it until I get the sim?! ok read some more comments.
will just go with the flow and see what happens.

    • they are just recording the info, you need to start the port once you receive the sim.

      • but how come account shows active in portal and it start decreasing days. Like it shows 29 days to next bill, which seems like account is already active even sim has not arrived. very confusing

        • You can go online , chat with CSR and they will adjust decreased days…

  • Does anyone know if we can use existing credit from amaysim account to buy new sim?

    • You can't as that existing credit can only be used on the service it is linked to.

      This is a NEW service.

  • 2 questions about porting out from amaysim then back for this offer:

Can I port my amaysim number to another provider without paying for any service or recharge(just purchasing any $2 sim)?

Do I need to sign up with a new email address/create a new account to port back in as a "new" customer with amaysim?

    tia

    • +1

As long you are porting from a different carrier it's all good. You can use the same email, address, number, credit card etc that you may have previously have used with Amaysim. If you're porting in, you're considered a 'new customer'.

      • Thanks very much. Ported to Telstra and about to purchase this deal.

  • any feedback from quibble re: credit approval ($39) cashback
