  • For the excess data (7.2c/MB), it that on prepaid value or postpaid? I.e could you rack up $1000 bill and they ask you to pay later?

    Edit: Essentially, is this a prepaid or postpaid service? Do they just cut you off for services when insufficient credit or do they keep allowing you to use your service and you keep incurring charges?

      Telco's have to send you notice when you hit 50, 80 & 100%.

      If you get to $1000 excess, you'd have to accept a chunk of responsibility. There's always the app you can check for usage.

    Just spoke to them on live chat took a while to get through !! Anyways just wanted to give y'all a heads up data is billed in MB not KB unfortunately.

    Still a great price tho !

        • Mate I think your chat info was correct. From what I have googled, it's per MB for 3G. Per KB for 4G.

          2.3.1. Charges for the use of Mobile Data are based upon 1 MB increments per session for
          3G only customers, and based upon 1 KB increments per session for 4G customers.
          For 3G only customers, sessions that make up part of 1 MB will be rounded up to the
          next full 1 MB increment. For 4G customers, sessions that make up part of 1 KB will
          be rounded to the next full KB increment.

  • Heads up every one…in live chat they said their is a bug in their system you need to select standard delivery when going through checkout for the promo to be accepted.
    Also on online promos:

    This is an excerpt from the live chat I had with Amaysim
    "Online promo orders are activated when they are sent"

    So if you activate after 3 weeks of sent date you'll in effect lose 3weeks of usage.

      • Not sure what you mean. I ordered this morning and selected next day. My invoice says I was charged $10 by credit card. I ended up buying a retail sim across the street and activating on the promo via live chat. Proceeded to start my port and was up and running in 30 min.

    • It's already activated. The longer you don't use it the less you have left.

    Guys, remember to check your bank statement, as I got charged $39.90 even though when I checked out it said $10…

      The same happened to me. In fact, everything about the promotion (except the summary box) seemed to be forgotten.
      Not only was my CC charged $39.90, but the online chat service rep said that my plan signup was not on the promo deal, meaning I would be charged $39.90 for the next two months.
      She fixed it up by refunding $39.90, charging $10 and putting $79.80 credit on my account to pay for the next two months.
      I think the problem came when I selected the "Postpaid" radio button AFTER entering the promo code. That cleared the code entry box, even though the screen still had a message that it had been applied and the summary box showed a cost of $10.
      My suggestion would be to do all your entry on the "Payment" page (Pre or Postpaid, CC details, etc) BEFORE entering and applying the code.

  • Worth noting for this deal that they won't let you transfer the deal onto a retail SIM, you have to wait for the online ordered SIM to arrive.

    • That's odd. That's exactly what I did. I have a bunch of spare starter kits from the previous Woolworths deal. So I asked on Chat if they could activate this account on one of those. Which they did. They said they'd send me a replacement starter kit.

        I asked on Chat just now as I ordered for me and my parents over the weekend so it could take days for the sim to arrive to northern NSW and then potentially more days to port (my mum is on optus) and I was told that only way to use a retail sim was to cancel and pay full retail prices! :-(

        So I declined and will have to get something working for my mum (who's month expired last night)… lucky she has a dual sim phone!

    • yes, order this sim card. During order process, it'll ask you if you want to port your number, so say "yes" and use coupon code 3MONTHS. so you are all set. Once you receive sim card , you can start porting process anytime.
      Dont forget to use either cashback or referral links.

          yes, i guess so. I had a chat with Amaysim CSR other day and she confirmed that i can port-in to Amaysim in Jan'16. I assume you are not with Amaysim at the moment.

          so I guess I have only 2 months left to use.
          The sim was NOT activated and I need to initiate the transfer by myself to activate it, but the promotion is counted from whenever I placed the order.

    I have an unused Amaysim SIM card with me(which is still active, but currently not on any plan). What is the best way to avail this offer

    1) Port my number to some other network and port back in - I've asked this question to their representative on live chat and they suggested that it won't work as the account will not be deleted.

    2) Order for a new SIM while buying this plan.

    Please help.

      then I checked my bank (ing) to see id been billed $10
      then 2 minutes later I got a welcome and email verify email from amaysim.
      1 minute after that "Hey Dean,
      Thanks for joining amaysim! Your SIM card will arrive within 2-5 business days."

      Then approx 5 mins later received
      "Use code B8D8QG now and get 50% OFF your first order
      Hey there, your amaysim shopping cart’s full but you left it behind."

      I hope I still get cashrewards but might not due to amaysim error-ing out ?

    requested to port about 8:30am, by 10am my old sim stopped working.
    new amaysim now receiving calls from my number, however unable to make calls or use data.

    according to amaysim my port is still going through??

        I've had a port to vodafone that took over a day. When i called to see what the delay was they actually didn't receive my request to port in their system even though i received an email from them immediately saying they were porting it over…..sounds like amaysim are getting a call/live chat 10 minutes after i port to speed up the process…..not waiting it out again like vodafone!

        • i spoke to amaysim 3 times yesterday, the last time at 6pm (after being told at 2pm to contact them if the port didnt work) i was told it can take up to 3 days and to wait.

          whatever the hold up was it was at the amaysim end as their simcard was active as of 9am with my ported number receiving calls from that time, took until 7:40pm for them to turn on the call credit it was activated with.

          @smacko: wow that is not good to hear! I was like a few others who were over charged for the sim and told to wait 5 days for them to respond to my email. I guess you just have to be persistent but it's not a great look on amaysim.

          I contacted them regarding initiating porting progress in 2 months. CSR confirmed that I still can activate the sim I receive after 30 days. U reckon everything is set to activate it early Jan? Can I still have these 3 months for $10 after then?

        • @smurfinaus: Yes, you need to leave auto renew ON. I have confirmed with live chat that turning off auto renew will cause problems..

          You may change payment method at any time, but in order to get the second and third month free as part of this deal, you need to leave auto renew turned ON.

          @smacko: Your one is correct, it's how Amaysim works (starts after you activate, NOT order). A lot of people don't know what they're talking about in this thread.
          Jeenee on the other hand starts from when you order the sim, which is unfair and I have contacted TIO regarding that, and they refunded the money.

    • For anyone who was worried and had turned it off, turn auto renew back ON and leave it on until you're into your third month on this deal. It needs to stay on otherwise they can't give you the second and third months for free.

      Payment set to BPAY should be fine.

      I spoke with live chat and confirmed this is the case.
