  • How does Coles' online compare to Woolies'? In terms of freshness, sub choices etc.

    • +2

      Not much difference.

    • +2

No plant potting mix available from Coles online unlike Woolworths.
A good item to get delivered, especially 20 of.

    • +2

Woolworths online prices are the same as in-store. Coles online prices vary, with basic items the same as in-store but lots of others more expensive than in store.

      • +1

Last sunday I had the need for CSR caster sugar. Coles online price was $1.90 for 1kg. When I went ti my local store the price was 10 cents more at $2.00.

        • +1

Did you have your local store set on the coles website? I know I've been browsing items, then set my pick up store, only for the prices of some things to jump up a bit.

    • +5

      I found Coles far better

    • +2

woolworths wins hands down for online shopping at the moment. woolworths' prices are same as in-store. coles' online prices are generally marked up by ~8%.

plus you can easily buy discounted woolworths gift cards

    • +4

I generally find coles to be better. They do have an online markup on many of their products, but even so, I find their range and specials to be better. However, woolies is consistently cheaper with fresh produce and they don't have an online markup. For big shops, I will often do a click and collect at both stores. I spend about an hour doing a shop online, picking the best prices / specials at both stores, then the next day I'll swing past one store on the way home from work and collect the groceries, and the SO will stop by the other.

  • Good deal! Thanks.

  • +2

Ahhh but it's hard for me to spend $30, what can I buy to get to $100?

    • +1

^ this. for the past few weeks, I had to plan very carefully to spend over $30 for $6 off voucher. Next week is going to be the hardest as I've seen literally nothing to buy anymore from the week's catalogue

      • You got a $6 off voucher? Mine is $5 off.

      • this $5/$6 off $30 spend voucher you speak of, is that a targetted offer or something we can all get in on?

        • targeted. Also targeted stores around the area I shop relatively often. I've talked to a lot no one got it and I've only seen same voucher on the ground at the checkout ($10 off $50 shop)

    • +2

Just buy toilet paper or tuna cans

      • I don't have room to store all that.

  • I think say click & collect make big difference. Trying to spend $100 :(

  • Is it up until 30th November or 22nd (according to the terms I read) ?
There's nothing special ffor me in the coming weeks catalogue so I will wait until I use it

  • +7

Coles is really giving me the shits with their "First time" promotions. I don't have enough email accounts and Flybuys accounts to keep trying to game the system

Absolutely jack all for loyal customers…hence why i shop at woolies with their $10 off deals (yes i realise the humour in saying that makes me loyal)

  • +1

I stopped shopping at Coles when I ran out of discounted gift cards. Most specials will be repeated at Woolies within a week or two anyway, so not missing out on anything.

  • Yes

  • Coles have better discounted prices compared to woollies, also woolies are always out on stock which gets frustrating when I can easily get it at Coles since they always get replenished way faster.

  • +1

I prefer woolies coz I never had problem with rainchecks - 6 max. With Coles their staff always gimme the sheesh like sorry sir , we can only raincheck 2 max for this item bcoz we believe the max usage each month per household is 2.

    • I wonder if 6 is official Woolies policy? I always ask for and get 10 and wondered how high I should go.

  • "You can collect your shopping from any of the following locations near you:???"
Closest participating store is 300 km + away….jeeeezz.

  • For some reason the Coles online website does not work for me.

I always get an error message, anyone having the same problem? Any ideas?

    • Its fine for me. Sometimes Ive noticed my browser does weird things like what youre saying. Ive noticed totally clearing browsing data, like clear everything and then it comes good. That should solve it otherwise different browser??

      • +1

Yeah different browser worked fine, thanks mate!

Don't know why I did not think of that idea… :D

  • +1

Wow almost be stupid not to try it now. Nice deal :)

  • +1

Am I right in saying this is effectively $40 off a $100 shop?

    • +1

      Yowp, not bad right :)

    • +1

      Seems right to me

    • +1

Cynical me: The cashrewards bonus will probably not work in combination with the other offer, so it is just like the Coles website says: 3000 points + $10 off, or $25 off (if you convert points to dollars) a $100 shop

      • +1

Just got an email from cashrewards. It's looking good for after I collect.

        • may i ask how long did it take for a confirmation from cashrewards after checkout at coles?

        • @mrgeckoz:

Haven't got the groceries or cash yet, just an email saying pending $15 with cash rewards

        • @spillmill:
and how long after checkout on coles did you receive that email?
im thinking that I might have missed on mine…
coz i came to ozb and other websites after clicking 'go to store' on cash rewards…

edit: i got the $15 in my balance… woohoo happy!

        • +2

          @mrgeckoz:

Glad to hear it cause I got mine within an hour I reckon!

Just buy 5 tins of milk formula and get a pic of yourself in the paper for free

3000 points only awarded for an order above $100. that means you need to spend $110.01 (due to $10 off)

    my experience…..
I ordered around $115. however some items were not available (not sure if intentional) and no substitute and therefore my order was only $105 something. therefore i missed the 3000 points. GRRRRRRRR.

some items were subsituted but i didnt like it. e.g. tiger prawns were substututed with banana prawns…. GRRRRRR

    • 3,000 BONUS POINTS will only be applied on your first purchase when you shop, enter your flybuys barcode number and place your order between Tue 10 November and Sun 22 November 2015. BONUS POINTS will be credited 4 weeks after expiry of offer.

Don't need any min spend for 3000pt

    • +1

i suggest you ring up and complain. they might give you the points

  • I ordered online last week, put the click 10 code in, says ive used it but it never came off the total! also I choose to pay in store on pick up, couldn't use my fly buys card so missed out on my 750 bonus points (for spending $110) sent them 2 emails and haven't heard back. so not impressed with coles. at least woolies online gives you extras

  • First time using Coles Online :/

Does anyone know where I put the FlyBuys details?

I've got up to [Step 5. Confirmation] but don't really want to risk placing order without having enetered my FlyBuys number beforehand.

    • +2

On the top right of the red bar, click on 'My profile'. Under 'Personal details' there will be a section to enter your flybuys details.

      • Cheers for the fast reply!

  • Are the 3000 flybuys points avaliable for anyone or just those who got the email? (it says "You have specifically been selected for this offer and it’s not transferable")

    • Yes, I am also puzzling over the T&C item:
"You have specifically been selected for this offer and it’s not transferable."
as i did not get this particular email.

I did have an offer of 3000 points plus free delivery if I spent $100+ back on 12-Oct-15 (supposedly now expired). The email said "Offer valid on orders placed between Mon 12 October and Sun 25 October 2015".
Oddly though, when I click that email now (19-Nov) I get a valid screen and it has in the fine print: "3,000 BONUS POINTS will only be applied on your first purchase when you shop, enter your flybuys barcode number and place your order between Tue 10 November and Sun 22 November 2015".

Not sure that pursuing either of the 3,000 points offers is worth the risk of forfeiting my first Coles on-line shop advantage.

  • Anyone knows or has the experience: if I choose to pay in store on pick up, I will receive the $15 cashback from cashrewards?

    • You should; i received my cashrewards tracking email this morning before i'd gone to collect and pay on arrival.

  • Note: if purchasing delivery or click and collect (with payment on collection), coles do NOT take their own gift cards as payment. I travelled 30mins to collect my order only to find this out, and layer found it buried in their t&c's. Ended up not collecting my order. Not happy at all
