    I recommend the
Hose connector with flow control for $9.90 (stops the flow at hose end for easy change of devices. It also has a swivel built in)

Click-on adaptor $6.90 ( to use any click on stuff you have)

  • How do these compare to the Hozelock products sold at Masters?

I was considering purchasing a hose reel through the eBay 20% of deal…

    • My hoselink hasn't popped off once. Can't speak for hozelock but once you find a connector that doesn't pop off under pressure you tend not to try other brands.

I tried all the cheaper stuff from the hardware stores including brass and had issues with all due to my water pressure

    • I haven't seen Hozelock, but just had a look on the Masters site. It looks similar to the Gardena stuff (a copy?). The plastic looks not as durable, but you can't really tell by looking at web photo's. I've used Gardena for years which is fine, but I like the Hoselink better.

A copy of Gardena? LOL how could you not have seen Hozelock products, they have been available in Australia forever.

That's right you can't tell from photos. The plastic is durable and we have two that are over 12 years old that still look like new compared to most other products.

        • Sorry, Gardena is everywhere. I've never seen Hozelock or heard of them before. Maybe they only market it hard in certain states? I see on Wikipedia it's been around in NSW since the '50's.

          So Hozelink sounds fine.

    • How do these compare to the Hozelock products sold at Masters?

They don't. Hozelock products especially their reels are fantastic quality. We have two hozelock 10m reels that we purchased in 2003 that are still like new. Meanwhile the 20m that was a cheaper brand I'm now onto the third one and need to replace it again soon

Just because you've tried another brand (Hozelock) and like it does not mean the brand you haven't tried (Hoselink) is no good. Unless you have tried Hoselink and think Hozelock is better?

Ok, that's a confirmation for Hozelink then. Lesson is - don't buy any of the cheap brands (defies what I said above).

  • Hozelock info. 2 year warranty (same as Hoselink). Boy , it's a competitive biz.

  • I purchased a 25m Hozelock from Masters. If you have really good pressure using a regular hose, the Hozelock in my case cut down the pressure by at least 50%. It seems that where the hose joins into the reel is a very small connector which effectively cripples the water coming into the real.

I can't comment on the Hoselink, but it is certainly food for thought when considering both options.

  • Also, 20m for $179, 25m for $199.

Can recommend these, got one last Christmas. (That offer included a free cover, so this is much better!)

  • I have this in the 30 metre. The longer the length, obviously the harder it is for it to reel in. Having said that, no problems here with mine so far.

One tip though, if the last 1-2 metres seems a bit sluggish make sure you squirt out the remainder of the water in the hose, as it will reel back in so much easier.

Mine has been in the sun for almost 2 years now, no problems.

Would anyone use that carwash brush on their car? Looks like a quick way to scratch the paint

I would use it to wash the exterior windows of my house, don't know if I would trust it on my cars paintwork though.
