This "Excluding Electrical" is breaking my balls. New kettle and toaster required.

  • +11

If i ever go bankrupt, which I am sure I will. I blame TA for it !

    • +1

      And TA will tell you:"Ta."

  • Awesome. Wish they still had Kindles in stock…

    • +3

Kindles are electrical so they're excluded anyway? :)

      • Good point. Fair enough.

  • I never got my last order from Target, had to dispute it via PayPal and target took their sweet time getting around to refunding me.

  • Nope no OzB birthday rewards here :(

  • Feed me with good deals!!!!

  • -2

I thought we are boycotting Target :D

(just kidding, don't neg me bro)

    • -1

      Why?

      • Why not?

        • -1

If youre saying you boycott or negative something, you actually have a reasonable reason to do that?

        • +2

          not really no

  • Do homewares include bedding? Target recently reduced their 1000TC bedsheets significantly - reg price is now $89 for Queen. This would make them much cheaper!

    • Have their 1000TC always been sateen weave? Had my eye on them for some time, but noticed recently the decription had changed from 'cotton' to 'cotton sateen' (i.e. shinier and silkier, but less durable and breathable).

  • +13

What is everyone buying? I usually struggle to spend $40 at Target in one go.. 5 times that much is a big challenge!

    • +3

This. What items could I possibly want from target for $200?

      • +17

Ozbargain creates this constant turmoil in my brain where I'm constantly trying to force myself to think of things to buy. It can't be healthy.

        • +5

I waste hours a day thinking about things to buy

    • Well I need new jeans, and I'm not sure what size I am so I've added two different styles in two different sizes (four pairs all up) for $39 each, so that's $156 taken care of, throw in a few tops and I've got $206. I know I'll be returning at least two of the pairs of jeans, so it works out to be quite a good deal for me.

      • How would returns work, I mean would it be cash or store credit?
If it's cash what's to stop someone buying $200 worth of goods then returning some of it ($80 odd in your case)effectively getting $120 worth of stuff for $45?

        • +1

I actually used to work at refunds at Target, and you will get cash if you can provide a receipt and its been less than 28 days, otherwise you will get store credit. But, it also depends on how the invoice is set out. With some discounts (like the almost weekly $10 off a $60 spend) the $10 discount is proportioned against the items, so say you buy two items for $30 each to add up to $60, you'll get a $5 discount on each item. Your total will work out to be $50, the invoice will actually show you paid $25 for each item and that is how much you will get refunded if you were to return one of them. HOWEVER, for this Paypal deal, they've taken the $75 as a lump sum off total at the end as a "voucher", it hasn't been proportioned against any of them items. So theoretically, you're correct, one could get $120 worth of stuff for $45 or even make a profit…..

    • +1

Yep, no electrical means basically a dickload of clothes or toys, since electrical is like a 3rd of the store.

  • +4

Cloths, that's what everyone wants, good quality cloths from target.

  • +1

Grandeur towels have a special deal on if you buy two of each. Just saved a fortune on bath sheets, towels, hand towels, bath mats and face washers all in same colour. If you need to update the bathroom a bit I think this is the way to go. All in all what would have cost me 115 cost me 53. Thrilled! Thank you for the deal!

    • +3

$53? So what did you buy for the other $72?

      • Other bits and pieces for around the house. Utensils, throw rug, some candles.

  • Just checking in to see what anyone has bought… Would a stroller count as homewares (or am i clutching at straws)?

    • +1

Best way to check is load the item to your cart and apply coupon near checkout. Who knows, you may find it applies to other items as well?

      • no dice i think (i entered it in the Promotional Voucher or Code on step 2 of checkout)

  • +9

    2 x George Foreman GGR201RAU Indoor/Outdoor BBQ + something $2 = $113

That's about $57 each pickup. Grab it while its hot!

Buy one for yourself and gift or sell the other, probably can sell if for $70 from gumtree / ebay

or lose part of your soul by returning it into store for $99 return.

    http://www.target.com.au/p/george-foreman-ggr2-1rau-indoor-o…

Oh by the way, I put it into cart and the promo code works

    • that's a great price but it's electric, I prefer gas.

      Anything else worth buying?

    • +2

I doubt my soul will suffer if I did return stuff to target. But I doubt it'll work, coz ur receipt would presumably state th discount?

    • +1

I'm going to hit this up but how do I find a ~$2 item?

      /edit/

      nvm, found these http://www.target.com.au/p/men-s-3-pack-essentials-sport-lin…

      /edit/

and with the addition of the $2 socks, I've locked it in Eddie. Just waiting on the email saying its ready for pickup. I generally have had great luck with Cashrewards but I still really really hope they come through again for this purchase.

I don't even cook and I live alone. What have I done?

    • Thanks,

i'll either return or sell the second one

    • $62.50 each, good deal if you don't have a big backyard

      • +1

Yes but also factor in 6% off if you use cashrewards and trust the cashback to work - which I do.

Also your $2 item to bring it up to the $200 threshhold shouldn't be counted in the per grill price

        • cashback is only 0.75% on the grills

        • @kingsville:

What, why's that? Is that the default cashback for Target and the grills don't qualify for the 6% because they are electrical?

        • @hetzjagd:

          'fraid so:
          http://www.cashrewards.com.au/target
Cashback on Homeware (excluding Electrical) & Apparel: 6.00%
Cashback on Electrical & Other: 0.75%

        • @kingsville:

weaaaaak. Ok thanks for the information

        • +1

@hetzjagd: Item is listed under "BBQs + Accessories" so it MIGHT not be classified as Electrical.

    • got 1 plus couple of items i was supposed to buy at their ebay store. bring my total to 200.01. thanks mate

  • Kitchen Appliances included?

    • No, I tried it.

But lamps worked, and clocks also worked.

Or if you can find electrical stuff outside of the electrical section, like the above mentioned Foreman grill.

  • +2

I wanted to get a Nutribullet Pro (kitchen appliance, not electrical), which for $199 is a nice price, and also some $2 socks to push it into the $200 bracket. But in the checkout, I'm getting:

The Promotional Voucher or Code you entered was incorrect, no longer valid or did not meet the required conditions. Please try again.

Is this a clearance item or what? I don't see why the code didn't work?

    • +1

Electricals are excluded from the special.

      • +1

But this is not in the 'electrical' section, it's in the 'kitchen appliance' section.

        • +8

Do you plug it in? If so it's electrical.

        • +1

          @matt_will_fix_it:

Just put 4 lamps into my cart, and the code works. Really disappointing that kitchen and appliances aren't included.

    • Ditto. No luck buying the Nutribullet pro with the code.. Had my fingers crossed! Oh well..

  • +1

Can this be stacked with the code SUMMER50 for children's clothes?

    http://www.target.com.au/medias/marketing/corporate/PDF/prom…

Spend $250, SUMMER50 brings it down to $200, get $75 off with PayPal, so $125 for $250 worth of clothes, with free delivery excluding cash rewards. 6% of $200 is another $12 savings.

    • +4

Why don't you try it and find out for us

    • Once you put the first code in the box gets disabled. Looks like you can't stack codes.

    • According to op :
"This voucher is not redeemable for cash. Excludes sale merchandise and not available in conjunction with any other offer."

So no, you can't stack offers…

  • Is it applicable on purchase of a microwave ?

  • +13

i like this… nearly 200 + votes.. and still no one posting a link of good deal… haha ….

    • +7

Maybe because their online selection is terrible. Looked for about 7 different items, none of which are in stock or the right size.

Target has to be one of the worse websites in Australia for stock/selection and availability.

      • Doesn't explain who votes though. Do people really look at a deal on here and go "well that's not for me but I'll vote it anyway because good for them". My rule of thumb is if I copped the buy, I vote on the deal. Sure maybe not everyone does that but.. otherwise its ~200 people that voted and didn't buy or were too lazy or paranoid about stock levels to share what they ordered? I don't get it

        • +1

          The 'TA' factor?

No offence intended BTW TA. Appreciate your efforts.

  • +2

Bought 2 summer quilts and 2 winter quilts for the kids and added a few other items to get to $200 in 2 transactions. Have been waiting for a 30-40% off sale for ages for the quilts, so now it's done and I can forget about it!

  • anyone know what happens if I return some items from the order?

    • +3

I did it with a pair of pants the other week. Only initially wanted two but then realized I need to order three to get past the threshold minimum spend to get the deal. I got two black one gray. I figured at the time of purchase "it's work clothes so it can't hurt to have spares". When they arrived I decided the black ones weren't as nice as the gray and that my cats' hair was drawn to them like a magnet. I decided to return one of the black pairs but keep one for variety. Gentleman at the store appeared to refund the full $49.99 value of the pants and not factor in the per item price after the discount. They call that change of mind and its within their policy. If I had bought two gray and one black I would have kept them all instead but I chose poorly.

It's one of those things though that while it is ripe for people to exploit, if enough people do it it'll potentially f*** up the chance of and value offered for future deals and maybe they'll tighten their return policy etc If you do it you are morally bankrupt regardless of whether Target is a "big faceless shameless corporation" etc

  • Not working for Baby seat and pram :(

  • +3

To save others wasting their time like I did, deal is valid for full price merchandise only, which OP does say but I just missed it.

  • +2

Just bought a bunch of clothes for the kids - coupon worked even with $40 worth of "buy one get the second half price" and "buy 3 x $15 tops for $29" savings. Add that to the $75 off, plus cashrewards - $122 saved - thanks OP!

    • how come it didnt work for my when i added items (tops) that were under the "buy one get the second half price" promotion.
I was informed that you can still have the half price items in your basket but they just won't count towards the $200?

  • +5

Target website makes the store look like the size of my garden shed.
No stock, limited range, sold out colours, I struggled to find anything to fill the $200 minimum spend…..
    The website is terrible.

  • +1

Starting new job next week so grabbed one black trouser, 4 business shirts, 5 black socks, one grey blue dress pants, and a full leather brown dress shoes. $206 down to $131 plus $11 cashrewards, net cost $120. The shoes alone cost $79 so that was virtually free. If I follow that line of thought, socks excluded, the 6 shirts and pants cost $20 each (normally $30-$50). Or, $15 each for all 8 items. Happy days.

Online shopping saves time too and if the sizes or style don't work, easy to exchange.

Is there something I'm adding incorrectly to my cart? When i enter the code, it says - "The Promotional Voucher or Code you entered was incorrect, no longer valid or did not meet the required conditions. Please try again".

Someone mentioned that it still works for the "buy one get the second half price" promotion.

The half price tops would not be counted in the $200 as they are no longer full price.
I had a half price dress in my purchases and I had to make sure the $200 did not include that item (I had to spend $214.50 for the code to work as the $14.50 (Half price) dress was not included). you can still have the half price items in your basket they just won't count towards the $200 needed. Hope that helps.

      • Okay that makes sense now. Thanks for that! :)

  • What exactly is classed as 'homewares' on the target site? There isnt an actual homewares section is there?

  • Does this include bedding? I don't see a homewares section on their site.

    • I tried it on quilts, it works.

  • I added a pair of women's boots, $25 reduced from $39 and they were included in my eligible $200 spend. I was also eligible for 'buy one get one half price' discount with this offer. Great deal! Thanks TA.

  • Hey I got shorted on the cashrewards. It's meant to be 6% and $7.5 cashback but the email came today saying its onyl giveing me $1. What gives?

    Date of Sale: 12/11/2015
    Sale Value: AUD 125.00
    Expected Cashback: AUD 1.04

How do I page TA or a Cashrewards rep? Sending an email to Cashrewards Contact Us in the meantime

Is this cause the grills I bought are considered electrical? I haven't even got them yet. I see both the Target $75 off AND the Cashrewards page have the "except electrical" clause however Target was willing to accept the grills for the $75 off so I was expecting the Cashrewards cashback too

    • Same thing here. bought 1 grill and some items to bring it to $200. but ony around $3 cash back in the email. Isn't the cash back value should be computed from the total amount and not the amount less code?

  • How about their wool quilts? I am looking for a good bargain on quilts now..

  • The shoes I want is out of stock! Damn these average size feet i have! AU 9!! lol

  • I can confirm discounted and buy 3 get 1 free do count.

I put 20 x $15 t shirts in my cart. They were on a buy 3 and get one free offer. They were also $20 in store when I last looked.

    Total cost gross = $300
Discounts $75 from buy 3 get 1 free.
    Total to pay $225
    Voucher $75
    Total to pay $150
    Actual savings $150

    Then there's 6% cashback.

I really do want some of these t shirts, but maybe not 20 of them. Have to find some other options

    Thanks TA

  • +1

Great bargain… if you keep your total to around $200 and assume 6% cashback through cashrewards (if you are buying non-electrical) you are getting around a ~43% discount. Nice!

  • Do we have to sign up to cashrewards first or go to the target site via cash rewards or anything before we purchase?
