  • Any reasons to upgrade to this if you already have Canon 600D?

    • The biggest reason to upgrade is the dual pixel CMOS AF. Combined with the touchscreen, it makes an excellent combination for DSLR videos.

    • You may want to also consider the 750D / 760D. The 70D is significantly heavier than the 600D, 750D, 760D.

      • side-by-side comparison
There is no real reason to upgrade to the 750/760D if you have a 600D, the improvements are very minor.
Yes 70D is a bit bigger and heavier, but it has dual pixel AF, better viewfinder coverage and magnification, faster max shutter speed, faster continuous drive, much better battery life.

      • AF fine tune. On my Nikon cameras has made quite a difference for a couple of camera body/lens combinations and I don't have to send the pair in for an expensive service.

      • Higher FPS for sports/action shooting

Be warned some have had AF issues that Canon are unwilling to acknowledge or fix:

  • Hey just wondering I can't find any information about the $200 store credit

  • Anyone got any suggestions on whether the 7D is worth the spend? I have a 550d that has treated me well to date… considering upgrading!

    • I am a fan of Canon. But, my sister's Nikon D7200 just blow me away. Since I dont have many Canon lens, I am considering Nikon D7200 over Canon 7D Mark II.

  • I am thinking about to buy the Canon 760D this Xmas until I saw the comparison of D7200. Looks like D7200 is a much better camera to buy.

    • $775 vs $1111 (after cashbacks)… of course the 760d lacks out!

Compare to 70D for a fairer fight

Even then especially with this deal, the 70D is cheaper

I think 70D (Crop frame) is still not the same level as D7200 (Full frame).
You should compare 7D mark ii with D7200 (full frame vs full frame).

Then again, if you are willing to spend $1000 on 70D, why not pay a tiny bit more for a totally better rank camera, D7200?

          D7200 is not full frame

        • The D7200 is a brilliant camera but it most definitely isn't full frame!

        • @syousef:

I am sorry, I was wrong. D7200 is not full frame.

        • i didnt think the 7d was full frame either?

        • @geoffs87:

Yes the 7d Mark II isn't either.

  • oh, damn! I just bought a 70D body from Topbuy on Friday. I just got the tracking number today - it's only leaving Hong Kong now. Is it worth sending it back and doing this deal? This one has a lens too, though I have a kit lens from when I got my 550D.
I paid a total of $1,002 inc. delivery from Topbuy
EDIT: well, after reading TopBuy's Change of Mind terms it seems I can only get a refund in the form of a store credit. damn!
