looks like Optus have also matched Telstra on the 5Gb bonus as well

  • It was $5 at Woolworths last week.

Removed illogical comment of my own

    • I couldn't find any last week. And probably won't this week either.

  • So will the $5 ones we got last week now have bonus 5 gig data

    • If you haven't activated it yet, then yes. They have no way of identifying only those SIMs that are bought during this 'promo' period

      • +1

        That good I bought 6.

        • +1

How many will you activate before Dec 6? :)

        • @ashar:
          2

  • telstra deal is still better.. unless you need optus for more convenient calls. Telstra also has a later 'last activation' date

  • which plan is the 5gb of bonus data on as they have 4-5 plans from memory.
i doubt they give u an extra 5gb on the 500mb for $2 a day plan.
    probably in the small print.

also keep your purchase receipt as i had an optus sim pack unopened give the error message this sim has expired and it had a may 2016 expiry date.
havnt called optus yet or ombudman and dreding 30 -60 mins of talking to customer service in phillipines trying to get it fixed.
i can see why optus is now the most complained about provider.
havnt received all my netflix vouchers from the recent phone deals either…but thats another cjore.

    • my prepaid ultimate plan i tthink i see in the small print.

    • I had 1 to activate on Monday. On my noticed it expired 01 Nov.
Phoned up and apart from a few minutes wait to get a CSR,all activated and alsetuo within minutes.
Also git bumped up to 528th on this one. Said I had 2gb, but then have me 5gb.
      Was very satisfactory

  • Does anybody know if it is available in Victoria, didn't see the advert in the Melbourne Herald Sun?

    • @kelandmal

      I would hope nationwide.

I saw the ad in QLD yesterday, so unless the OP was on holiday in Qld ;)

      (OP says Sydney in profile)

  • Bought 2 from coles, scanned as $15 :(

    Still ok though

  • You can buy it online from Optus http://www.optus.com.au/shop/mobile/prepaid/sim

    • Any limit on how many can be ordered?

      • I can order 3 each time so I did just that, didn't try putting in another order.
Had trouble when ordering 9 telstra prepaid sim last time and they refused to give me a refund.
You could use other family member's names and ID if ordering more than 5 , that should work fine.

tried to buy in Coles, no stock. Went to Woolworths, they said they never have $30 sim pack. Went to Dick Smith, they never have $30 sim pack, they checked for me in computer, only City has stock. Went to Big W, they said they never heard about $10 deal, scanned in computer, $20…
I am thinking Optus is doing a doggie deal.

  • Can't see how the new my prepaid ultimate plan is different to the my prepaid monthly plus apart from the validity period (ignoring the bonus data). I only compared the $30 plans. All the entitlements seem to be the same but the ultimate plan is only valid for 28 days rather than the 30 days for the monthly plus. Am I missing something here?

    • … also, all add-on last for 14 days instead of 30.

  • Is it $10 for the first month only. After the recharge expires
the next month is it $10 or back to $30?

    • +1

It's normal price after the first month.

      • If you buy multiple cards, can you top it up the next few months for $10 dependant on how many cards you bought?

        • I don't think anyone is saying you can recharge for $10

        • @Steptoe:
So why would you want to buy multiple cards? ?

        • @woekoa:

Regardless on the bonus data it's $10 for 28 days unlimited calls/SMS +1.5GB. Can port out and back in, maybe with a simialr starter deal from Vodafone or Telstra starter packs.

        • @Steptoe:
I have a child who is having their first phone. What is the best way for them have credit to call people without paying every month to upkeep the plan??

        • @woekoa:

Depends on how many call expect to make over a year. Plenty offers of up to 365 day expiry. Just disable Mobile Data or credit will evaporate.

        • @Steptoe:
Thanks heaps for the advice Steptoe!!

        • @woekoa: Get a PAYG plan. Amaysim offers one.

        • @lostn:
          Thanks lostn!!!
          Will look into it.

        • @woekoa: Do note that these type of plans are best for light users.

If you actually use it a lot, the unlimited plans are best value.
