  • nice one OP… just in time as i was just looking around too!
I just hope they don't up the premium just to make up for the 90 days free.. lol

  • Thanks

  • Allianz can never provide me with a quote online.

  • Please try again

Please check the promotional code you have been given and re-enter. For assistance, call 131000.

From experience Allianz jack up renewal rates considerably… It was cheaper to let my policy lapse and sign up again… I opted out instead….

Most insurance companies seem to do this. It's lovingly referred to as the 'lazy man's tax'. Every time my car insurance is up I'm able to find a better deal, often with the exact same company with an online quote cheaper than the renewal by far. Does NOT pay to be loyal to them that's for sure.

      • yep… but 50% was exceptional and unwarranted….

time to bring out the broken tv….

  • This code sounds good, but has anyone actually used it?

  • tried online @ the promotion code but doesn't work

  • Stay away they made my parents lives hell when their house burnt down

That is very unfortunate. Allianz have been very good to me. Their travel insurance especially.

      • May I ask how is the travel insurance work? What have you been claiming? I've been looking for this but not sure if I will make a claim as the excess can't even close to what I will claim I guess.

    • What did they do?

    • I am a customer of theirs now because they are really cheap but I really dislike the company as well and fully expect them to try and rip me off. Years ago when I was 17 years old someone rear ended me and he was with Allianz for car insurance. It basically wrote my car off and they offered me $2000 for my car claiming it was market value. I had just bought it 6 months previous for $4,000 after looking for ages and it was a good price for the condition.

I told them to give me replacement value and they refused, I provided evidence, they refused and were rude. The arguing went on for months and in the end I sent them a letter of demand and threatened to take them to small claims if I didn't get a fair value. I ended up being invited into their Adelaide office and spoke to the general manager I believe who was a complete arsehole. Ended up walking out with $3200 from memory.

How rudely they treated a 17 year old student who just wanted his car replaced with something similar still makes me bitter. I'm only with them now because they were 2/3rds of the cost of anyone else for my home and car insurance - if I ever have to make a claim I'm fully ready for a fight (Have never made an insurance claim with any insurer fortunately but I know how difficult they can be, they are your best friends until you make a claim).

      • Whilst nothing condones poor conduct you can always expect to be treated rougher when you are a third party they owe than a customer of their own

        • Absolutely, that's kind of what I wrote it down to but it was over such a paltry amount. I can't imagine what it would be like making a $50,000 claim with them.

        • @chiefbodge:
If it was for a significant amount one would hope you have your own insurance to claim on and your insurer can negotiate repayment
The problems come with people negotiating direct
This is the reason why having your own policy is beneficial even when you are not at fault

  • Any idea how long the code is active for?

The promo code seems already expired.

    • without promo code, the policy for my house costs $4863 per year! no wonder they wanted to offer 3 months free… such an expensive policy! even with 3 months free, it's still too expensive.

      • it may be due to your house located in a high risk area, eg. flood, bush fire zone,or high crime rate

    • Same here. I tried online dont work and called via phone but told this promo code is not exists. Not sure if it is targeted as agent asked if i recieved it via email

  • SAME HERE didnt work

  • Brand new code guys. This one works now

    • They are messing around I can confirm I got my info from a reliable source in the finance industry

Call up and they said 90 days free is only for presettlement.
But the referral code gave a little discount on the premium.

    Thanks easternculture!
