While you will never get it close to that price, this price is quite high.
I was in China a couple of months ago and i couldnt get even the RRP on a Redmi note 2, you need to order it from Xiaomi for that.
Once its released and production ramps up the deals will come through, expect it to be under $300 delivered eventually.

Love the metal finish and the finger scanner and 3GB of ram for $276 AUD with the Black Friday deal (GeekBuying) but the lack of a microSD card KILLS it for me. In this day and age, 32GB is just not enough.

The RAM is very important, hold out for a better price but get the 3GB version. I had the redmi note 2 with 2GB and it wasnt enough for solid performance.
Qualcomm are working on a finger print scanner that will work through glass, i expect to start seeing it within 6 months, but probably not on a Chinese SOC.

It will probably not have SD card slot or removable battery. They understand the flagship business it seems. Don't give people stuff if you don't have to. If you know they're going to buy it anyway, why not upsell them a 64GB?
I hope it will have a 1440p screen because that's one area they haven't been able to match the other flagships on.
Was looking at the Xperia Z5 but the Mi5 seems much better value and has a monster processor
