    meh. for me:
    Coles: $593 plus some flybuys dollars yet to arrive, maybe ~$50ish
    WW: $988 less $100 card.

    i think we have a clear winner and loser here.

      Always call them to compare. Got a call from Coles last week, offering me $100 off my current premium, plus 10,000 Flybuys points.

      I told them to call me back, then found the cheapest premium going round (included a 25% discount, only $500 for full comp). They duly beat the price, and gave me the points.

      Full insurance premiums are a tax on lack of initiative.

    I'd also look at someone like NRMA too. They are not as expensive as they used to be. I compared Coles, Woolworths, CGU and NRMA for my new car I've ordered and to my surprise NRMA was much cheaper with "new for old" replacement for the first 2 years too.

    I used this offer last year ($100 gift card). My renewal is due in the next few days. If I cancel my renewal and sign up again will I be able to receive the gift card?

      I did that last year (so I've had 2 x $100 bonuses), but I see above it says first year only, except if you let the old one lapse by a day or so then get a brand new one, where is the cut of between renewing and a new one? It was a loop hole last year (around now) and I even mentioned it to the woman on the phone (to see if IZ could get the second $100) and it worked. Have they closed it I wonder?

      One thing I really like is you can get third party with windscreen coverage. As far as I know the only one that does that.

          OMG I got exactly the same response. So annoyed with Woolworths Insurance. They said they were posted and probably lost in the mail, wait 10 business days, etc…still NOTHING after 75 days!!!

      i had a good look at budget direct this time round. With their 35% discount they were competitive. AusPost also offer 35% (they are same as BD anyway, both are Auto & General Ins).
      In the end stayed with my existing mob as it was easier to pay and move on :)

    I'm on my green p, woolworths asks me for my age when I get my full license, which doesn't apply to me, does that mean I can't apply for this one? Any one know any good insurance for p platers? Thanks

    NRMA base price before offers for my car in Queensland was $223, Coles and Woolworths base prices before offers were $250 or $275. So it could be worth checking if Bargitrage's offer is available for you. The offer is $100 off the price upfront, with no waiting for a gift card.
