84 for 240GB wow just wow.

  • Whats the deal with warranty buying an SSD from Amazon - Postage costs or is it worldwide ?

    • Depends on the Manufacturer.

      • Love your avatar! Always give me a good laugh! Lego captain! LOL funny game, my little sister finished it, sent a few funny screenshots of Lego Marvel Hero's, funny stuff!

If you bought it at the higher price less than 7 days ago, you can contact Amazon and they'll refund you the difference as an Amazon gift card.
I just got Amazon to issue a refund for me via their LiveChat.

    • same here.

    • Thanks for the tip, just got my $5 back!

OCZ Trion doesn't look like the best SSD. Amazon reviews mention reliability issues. Other reviews mention performance issues with larger files.

For about $6 more you can get the Sandisk SSD Plus:

  • Inb4 Sandisk Ultra hate

    • Theres been a few sandisk bargains over the last few days I've yet to see any hate (mind you I have not been looking closely)

Any point in buying an SSD at the moment? Seems like theres a cheaper price uploaded only a few hours later!

    • +4

Ozbargainers seem to forget that buying something you don't need isn't a bargain. Do you need it? Can you wait for a cheaper price or do you need it now?

ozbargainers code of conduct: Buy now , Think later

Then place in desk draw, don't touch it for months, moap when it's 20 dollars cheaper a year later, buy again anyway and place on top of unopened unit.

          And repeat.

A true OzBargainer wouldn't be able to fit anything in their desk drawer with all the Eneloops already in there.

License to buy now, think later

        • @Cordova:

LOL I knew this rebuttal was coming. Accepted.

      • I'm somewhat in the market for expanding the space i have now.

I have a 250 GIG SSD which is chokkers between my OS / Fallout 4 / GTA 6 and a few others and a 1 gig full of misc stuff

    • I think the Amazon deals are for Black Friday event. That said, SSD price has been going down slowly, the rapid changes you've probably seen are from Black Friday, I assume.

      • This is probably true, but we are nearly at the stage where we can turn SSD deals into a drinking game.

        (Not that I'm complaining ;)

  • I ordered this when it was $166 AUD posted. Do Amazon do refund of differences?

    • +1

they do if you contact them within a week from delivery day

at this rate, 480gb in 1 year will be $80 and that makes me feel easy at night!

really wished there were more mSATA SSD specials.

  • Seems to have dropped another $7 to US $104.99???

Ready to pull the trigger but waiting for Black Friday to officially start. Who knows what crazy offers there might be out there?

    • Oh… $7 delivery.

  • Any point putting one into a 2009 macbook pro? That thing is a tank, but there's all this licensed, purchased software on it so I was thinking of converting that into my lightroom / capture one photo editing computer. Never get any time on my own computer anymore due to fallout 4 :S

    • I'm putting mine into an early 2011 macbook pro. To each his own.

    • Definitely - the whole machine will feel like you just upgraded it - it will be significantly snappier, save battery life, heat up less, less shock prone for data loss no mechanically moving parts.

It is the biggest bottleneck for performance and worth every penny for the upgrade.

      • Thanks!

Accidental snipe on an ebay item has unfortunately killed my budget for the ssd. Oh well :(

  • Not Expired but out of stock - you can see it in the list but it says est. stock in December 11 :(

  • After nearly 30 days & supposed tracking along the way- only after I finally found a contact to report no pkg., they said, "oh, sorry- we'll refund you". Yet, they had my money out of my savings, & in their bank, for a month earning them interest. I wonder how many they do this to, routinely, to increase their bottom line? Multiply X thousands.

No 480GB SSD- end of story. My first & last purchase with Amazon USA, for sure. It took ridiculous amounts of searching & back-n-forths to get to the truth.

Have to hope for another AU deal locally in the next week- thanks for nothing amazon. That's my son's Chrissy upgrade (along with successful AU stock of video card) screwed.

    Just great.

PS: I wouldn't be pissed off if they didn't communicate it was "on the way" for that past month…

    Asshats
