I would spend $300 extra and get the latest Inspiron 15 7000 2 in 1. Comes with a 6th generation Core i5 CPU, 256 GB SSD, slightly lighter and much better screen.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-Inspiron-15-7000-Series-2-in…

    • Another good option depending on budget.

    • yep second this I've got the 3000 and it's good but the screen really needs an active digitizer. My mate's 15 7000 is fantastic though for note taking etc (using stylus)

    • It doesn't look like the 7000 is available with a discrete (mobile) video card - is this correct? I could only find them all with Intel HD Graphics 5500, but I'm not familiar with the current Inspiron's.

    • Will this one be good for a heavy Photoshop / Lightroom user?

    1366 x 768 ?????

    • yes High Definition: 15.6-inch HD (1366 x 768) Truelife LED-Backlit Display.

      • Sorry ill clarify. I wasnt questioning why 1366x768 is even an option.

  • Better of getting the inspiron from this deal for a little more. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/221940

Slightly better cpu and much better screen.

    • I thought about that 1st and reach out to MS support to check max supported memory, Battery life and Dell model. None of the support people were able to answer that.

When not specified, safe to assume the worst, lowest or cannot.

  • Any idea about the battery life on these? Needing to buy for child's high school and they say need 6 hours without charging.

  • Dell has just increased the price to $999 now :(

    • yea whats the go with that :(
