Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Series 2-in-1 $960 @Dell eBay (15",1080p, i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD)

140
CXMASTECH

I do not believe this deal is as good as the Kirabook. However, if you're looking for something cheaper or want a bigger screen and don't mind the extra weight (and less battery life), this laptop is very good value.

15.6" 1080p Touch screen
i5-6200U
8GB RAM
256GB SSD
1x USB 3.0, 2x USB 2.0
Wireless AC
2.17KG
Backlit keyboard (does not have a number pad, which is a bit odd for a 15" laptop)
Battery should give over 5 hours of light work.

  • It's directly from Dell not good guys as per title :)

    • Many thanks! Still had Kirabook on my mind. >_<

I agree, this is much better value for money than Toshiba who have lost their quality now.But i don't think 15" 2 in 1 is suitable especially when it's 2kg+.

[Dell Inspiron 5558] (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/222040) was a good and cheap deal. just need an SSD replacement if required

        • i brought this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/220310 and a samsung 850 evo. but now i am thinking of buying another one for myself and give the dell 15 5000 to my parents. still thinking between this and 13inch. was consider toshiba p50t b01r refub one. need advice.

        • @ce5himm: ya this was a good deal indeed, i bought one as well with earlier amazon 240GB SSD deal.

        • @b4rgainhunter: i have one question this one come with 6th gen i5, the gpu should be intel 520, why it says intel 5500 which i believe belongs to 5th gen. i saw this laptop last night, but the gpu stops me.

@ce5himm: where did you bring it?

        • @aussman: the "tech spec" shows
          Video Card
          Intel® HD Graphics 5500

          and same on dell's website

        • @ce5himm: S50t-B008 has a 1366x768 screen. Keep that in mind.

        • @O15: i was talking about p50t b01r, not that one

        • @ce5himm: My bad, only looked at the first part of the model name.

        • @ce5himm: I think it comes with intel 5500. The microsoft one comes with intel HD 6000.

          Dell Y510450AU

        • @b4rgainhunter: yes, but how can a 6th gen cpu come with 5th gen graphics, especially when it is integrated. unless intel make to different i5 6200u, one with intel hd 5500 and other with intel hd 520.

        • +1

@b4rgainhunter: that link does not explain 6th gen intel. Dell ebay and dell outlet can sometimes display incorrect/misleading specs. An i5 6200u should come with hd 520.

        • @matabuntu: could not agree more, 6200u should come with intel hd 520. i will make the bet, and see how it goes

Yeah, this has been mentioned many times.

The battery life, keyboard and the screen are disappointing. Very dull screen despite the resolution, which is why I haven't pulled the trigger.

    • Still better value for money as compared to this and in cheaper. Microsoft 5558 deal was good one as well with better graphics and touch but microsoft was not sure about model.

  • It all depends whether you like 13 inch or 15 inches. Kirabook is 13 only whereas this is a good screen size for me. Ordered one 2 days back :)

  • No numeric keypad kind of rules it out, for mine.

  • JUST FINISH TALK TO DELL ONLINE CHAT, STILL SAYS COME WITH INTEL HD 5500. HOW CAN 6TH GEN I5 6200U, COME WITH INTEL HD 5500. it is intergrated graphics. so disappoint

  • I just got my Lenovo E550 delivered for $880
    128GB SSD
    i5-5200U w/integrated Intel graphics HD5500
    Discrete AMD graphics R7 M260 Gfx 2GB
    8GB RAM
    Intel Sense 1080p 3D webcam
    1080p screen

    • where?

      • share?

        • please?

        • Is it under the 20% off deal?

      • Lenovo were having clearance deals about a week or so ago.
I would keep your eye out for Lenovo deals & specials

    • where'd you get it? plz share it with us

I recently bought an hp Elitebook 840 G2 for work purposes. It has a i5-5300U processor and I am quite disappointed with CPU performance.

Anyone looking at doing cpu heavy tasks (Virtualisation specifically in my case) should steer clear and get a HQ CPU. Obviously, less battery life but it's disappointing that my brand spanking new laptop has the same performance as my 3rd gen i5 Dell E6430.

    Wth Intel?

    • I just upgraded an Acer 4th gen i3 & HP 4th gen i5 laptops to Windows 10 at the same time, with pretty much identical specs
The Acer did it in 25 minutes less and it was slightly further away from the router

  • Anyone know if there's a digitizer pen that can be used with the Inspiron?

    • A stylus. I think you can get it from the dell store.

      • I had a look but the one they had didn't say it was compatible with Inspiron.

  • mine says shipped. hope it delivered within next week.

    • also i've checked many dell website (us, jp,cn,hk…) the same model 7568 all come with intel hd 520. so i think there is no way only AU comes with intel 5500. though difference is not that much.

      • also, if someone still consider this laptop. this one only have one memory slot and support max 8GB ram. which means you can not upgrade to 16G ram, even you have one 16g stick on hand.

  • Driver_Power_State_Failure. Right out of the box.
    USB ports not working
WIFI fails 30 seconds after connecting. Wireless card vanishes from the device manager.

Called Dell 2 Hrs on the phone. They want to replace the laptop. Will take 15 days. Pending approval.

I posted the deal for non 2 in 1 version https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/216957

    That one had.

Faulty speakers out of the box.

    Jumpy trackpad (design issue)

Black band around the screen. (design issue)

Is dell rubbish now or am I the only one having problems with them?
