AAPT Unlimited ADSL2 Plan $99.95/Mth (24 Mth Contract) incl land line rental & free wifi modem

448

Broadband that is not throttled, no caps which means unlimited downloads and uploads at ADSL 2 speeds (depending on connection).

Costs $99.95 - which also includes land line rental (call charges are extra) and $50 of music downloads from the AAPT Music Store. Also includes a free wireless modem. Not sure which one though - probably a netgear G wireless modem.

If you can't get ADSL 2, ADSL 1 contract is $109.95 a month. A case of paying more for less. But I understand some people won't have an option.

Seems like a good deal for those people who want a landline.

Note that AAPT does not condone illegal downloading.

          • @amkssg: If I had unlimited internet and it didn't affect anything, I could stream hulu through a vpn 24 hours a day for always-on tv access. Their 700kbps stream would take up 7GB/day. It'd be a silly thing to do, but it shows it's possible with a large playlist!

            • @eug: with TPG offpeak hrs (5hrs?) you can usually do close to 10gb on a 900kbps dl. which is about a single 1080p content. with the amount of HD content thats available on the net its very easy to rack up over 120GB a month.

I think a lot of people will say "be careful, they will cut you off for excessive usage!"

I am on AAPT unlimited plan between 8pm - 8am with 20Gb during peak times.

In the offpeak, I have easily d/l more than 300Gb every month.

Checkout AAPT forums at whirlpool.net.au and you will see posts where users have done more than 1TB a month

    • I have no doubt you can download large amounts of data per month.
I'm just wary of AAPT limiting/slowing down your file sharing data, having youtube videos that won't play, the high pings of online gaming, and many, many more problems.

There will be many users now using AAPT during the day to do their downloads (including EMI's music downloads).
I just don't want to get slow speeds due to congestion.
It doesn't matter if I get to download 24/7 if I can only do it at 40KBps.

I've been looking at the AAPT plans for a while now and this new plan does make it even more attractive to switch but at what cost?
      That's what I'm careful about.

TPG vs everyone else - the Mac vs PC of ISPs.
    :)

cant believe TPG is getting recognised in the same sentence as a mac or a pc……..
If they didnt offer such reasonable download limits I would never use them…. Hate dealing with their support desk…… cant understand them and they dont do anything….

      • In that view, TPG reminds me of a mac :P

  • so right now im with optus i get 1.5 mb per second as actual download speed whether that is torrents or downloading direct from any site would i be able to achieve that speed thru these aapt or tpg unlimited plans?
