  • How does this compare to the ones at coles etc (which are a LOT cheaper)?

    • These are not like the supermarket kits. Our kits taste great, come with everything you need including 5 or 6 different types of lollies, as well as icing mix, a piping bag and piping tip. They're also easier to make than many other kits we tried. It IS a kit, so there is still work involved, but as long as you follow the supplied instructions, it turns out well. We tried some cheap kits and couldn't get the icing to the right consistency to hold the pieces together. Another one requires you to dip the house edges in hot oil to melt it which results in burns and a pretty lousy result. We decided to supply the best value kit we could find and this is it. Yes they are a lot more than a supermarket one, but we feel they are much better quality.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • Can you provide advice on the ingredients? In particular how does it rate again Choice's article on Food additives to avoid and list of additives.

    • There is a list of ingredients including allergens on the FAQ page.

      • SO not everyone has to go through it, there are ingredients listed on the FAQs (particularly for the toppings) that are on the pages mathew42 queried.

I am disappointed to see artificial colours and flavours on the ingredients list, especially given the price point.

        • Sorry. We're not the manufacturer so we have no control over this. I'll pass your feedback to the supplier.

  • Delivery is via Fastway if you are in their delivery network, otherwise Australia Post. There is still plenty of time for them to arrive well before Christmas.

May I ask where they are made? The ones from Coles I can say dont have a very good taste.

    • +1

Where it's made doesn't determine the quality. They are made in Canada. But the last Coles one we saw is also made in Canada. If you're talking about the one that comes with a plastic tray, then yeah - we tried that one and it's ordinary. Our one is from a much better factory and it is not available in stores here.

      • Thanks. I guess there must be multiple brands that are from Canada, actually was nice one of the years but not so good another year we tried one.

  • Any plans for a gluten-free version?

    • No. We are not the manufacturer so we have no control over ingredients. I'll pass on your suggestion to the supplier.

  • Normal price $40 for a basic ginger bread house or $55 for a country house? Seems very expensive. I know you say it's a "kit" but I can get a bag of lollies to decorate for $2
I won't be able to get one anyway since its processed in a peanut facility.
