Toshiba Refurbished Clearance (30-50% off RRP) Fully Covered by Toshiba's Manufacturer's Warranty

150

Their site states:

"Our Promise

All our products are covered by Toshiba's manufacturer's warranty.

This means if you have any issues with your purchase, we'll be here to help you directly."

Its okay i guess.. average around 30-50% off their RRP. Their prices still arn't anywhere near some other deals we've had here on ozbargain but its still a deal…

Examples of previous better refurb deals:

My opinion is that Refurb's are just as good as the 'Brand new out of the box' thing…. my iphone has been an refurbished exchange…works perfectly if not better. I always end up changing the original 'new' iphone every year because some button stops working or something etc…

anyways happy shopping with the toshiba direct warranty and peace of mind~

    • No idea about this model - except that the processor is a bit old, for what I was expecting a Haswell at least (i5-4—-)

KIRAbook, Intel Core i7-4500U, $1210 holy crap that is cheap. If i was still looking for a laptop, that'd be the one I buy

  • Looking for laptop or ultra book <$800. Any good deal here guys?

    Thanks.

Pretty old gen processor (Ivy Bridge) with a nice screen resolution, will definitely be suitable for general use but wouldn't place any bets on battery life longevity.

Newer processor (not the newest, this one is Haswell) but the resolution is much worse compared to the one above.

    Crap deals, considering its refurb

  • Very good resolution - but on a 13.3" kirabook screen, wouldn't I have to run at lower resolutions? Else everything will get too small. Still won't pull the trigger for any of these.

    • Windows has scaling to get around this. Draws all the text/icons/menu bars at larger sizes to make everything readible. It's not perfect but it's close enough that you'll never notice.

Toshiba warranty services are crap now since they closed all of their repair centre and outsource them last year.
It is better to buy different brand which is slightly cheaper. You get the same crap service anyway but save on the purchase.

I bought a refurb from Toshiba 7 years ago. Still going great guns.

If I were in the market for a laptop, I wouldn't hesitate to consider one of these.

Thanks OP bought one. Finally the Kira i7-4500 with touch screen is at a decent price.

Anyone know if this will be eligible for a free Windows 10 upgrade? Also, any deals on a perpetual licence of MS office? Alternatively, any tips on transferring MS Office from an old machine to a new machine?

    Thanks OzB!

    • They are selling their Kira cheap because they have manufacturing issues on their screen.

      • Yikes, hope the refurbished units are ok… Otherwise we'll see how good Toshiba are with meeting local warranty obligations

        • Their products quality and warranty services are going down the hill. I remember they used to have their products manufactured in Japan, but now all of them are made in China. Also they used to have their own operated service centres but last year they closed them down and outsource them to third party. So there is nothing left to differentiate between Toshiba and other brand products.
I used to be Toshiba's fan but nowadays if I want to buy laptop, I just choose the one with the specs I want and the cheapest by comparing all available on the market (Dell, Lenovo, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, etc). All of them are made in China anyway (some are made by same manufacturer) and their warranty services are all crap anyway (outsource to third party).

  • Most models, RAM is soldered to MB. So no expansion slots.

for $440, I'd be tempted to buy that bad boy and just run the 2.2kg fatty as a desktop setup.
