I would NEVER buy from Digital Star!!! I bought a laptop from these guys a couple of years ago, I had nothing but trouble with it, and the service they gave me was worse then COTD!! Week upon week, I called up their service center and continually spoke to someone who could hardly speak english and got the same rubbish answers, like, "yeah we are looking into it," or "Yeah we are working on it now and should be ready next week" well, 3 months later I finally got my laptop back and the problems still existed!! It wasn't until I said i will go to the Office of Fair trading, would they even do something… BEWARE, buy at your own risk!!!!

Don't you knows that all the notebook are cover under manufacture warranty? unless within 7 days, if the nb is shit, there is nothing to do with the retailer… and you should contact manufacture directly…

It was a BTO (Build to Order) notebook by Digital Star, based on an ASUS laptop… ASUS would not cover it under warranty because it was classified as a digital star notebook (powernote I think it was called)… I am not that dumb, I tried to go direct with ASUS first time around but they sent it back telling me it was not one of their laptops… and then what I posted before happened…

  • This is a very good deal. A 2.2Ghz, 15"6 Laptop with Windows 7 for just a bit more than your average tiny Netbook with Vista?

I must say this is a pretty good deal - what I am giving the negative for is the retailer… Nothing to do with the Acer laptop…

You would agree though, when you get treated like I did from any retailer, you will always give negative responses about that retailer.. So just to clarify, I wouldn't have given neg feedback if the person who posted this was just a regular joe, I would have still told my story and warned others, but seeing as the poster is from digital star I was inclined to do it…

    • Thanks Tuhan for sharing what happened. This makes buyers aware of the associated risks.

  • Have not dealt with DS for a couple of years but remember that they suddenly lose their comprehension of the english language if you have a problem. Good advice Tuhan.
