  I'm not sure i have never used global, maybe hit shun up or king of knives, could (profanity) with it, better to be safe than sorry

Haha Thanks for the response - I did some poking around the interwebs and some amazon reviews mention that you can use this on other knives but would still require honing independent of this. You can try to use thus to hone by sliding it out quickly.
