Cashrewards Welcomes PC Byte - SanDisk Ultra 128GB MicroSD $69 Delivered + 2.5% Cashback

2400
CASHREWARDS-PCBYTE

Very proud to say I've been able to onboard PC Byte. And Andrew's been kind enough to pass on our full 2.5% commission as a small thank you to our members. This deal will also be featured in tomorrow's eDM (stock permitting).

And what a corker of a deal we've come up with. This all-new 80MBs card is twice the speed of the previous model and the cheapest price anywhere by a considerable margin. Will be shipped next business day from PC Byte's Sydney warehouse. Comes in full retail packaging and includes an SD adapter. Simply apply coupon CASHREWARDS-PCBYTE at checkout & select free shipping. Limit of one per customer.

Thanks to Thrift for running this test on the 64GB microSD version of the new Ultra. Awesome results!

And finally, a reminder that every CR purchase receives an entry into our $5000 competition.

Please note you need to be logged in to Cashrewards to see the offer. Alternatively, you can go straight to PC Byte's website to purchase directly from there without cashback. Have a great night and thank you all for your support :)

It is from tightarse, it has to be good.

    • +2

      Lol controversial

  • Any SD cards for sale? :D

    • +1

      use it with the adapter

      • call me paranoid call me blue but i prefer to use standard sd

        • +3

They have the same pins, the adapters are simply pass through traces and don't perform any active function. It's the exact same.

        • +1

          Blue!

        • +2

          @pal:
          actually to elaborate:-

i have used an adapter brand new from a high end card and it didn't work
have dropped a few microsd cards over the years and have had to search the floor
constantly remove my card to plug into pc, tv, phone and ipad so a little bit aware of it falling out (unlikely but its on my mind)
some reports online mention fans blowing them away

also some high end cards look nice but then you put into a generic ugly looking shell
call me mr vain but why have a sexy high end super fast card and then give it the tech equivalent of a burka

Oh and also I am certain there is performance differences between the micro version and the sd version
SD/Microsd card speeds are so complicated and confusing (uhs-1 to 2, class 1-10, 1-933x speed, u1-u3, min and max read and write, different speeds for different size cards sd, sdxc, sdhc etc etc etc

        • @pal: isn't it green?

        • @thelastnoob: mr vain.

dang, would've been good if it was through ebay so I can use my $25 amaysim credit. Great deal nonetheless

  • +4

YES, thank you TA :) I knew the 128gb would come

  • Did anyone actually receive credit from the Dan Murphy's 10% deal?

    • Is yours tracking? I know Dan is notoriously slow (3 months to be exact) but they have paid me before.

  • +1

I miss the coupon codes 'microarse', 'ultrarse' 😀

    • +1

      Code should've been arsebite

      • Arserewards

  • +1

I'm guessing this is not the new version? Might hold off. Edit: wrong guess! :D

  • All good

  • +1

Just bought a new phone that has a microsd card slot, so this is perfect. Thanks TA :)

  • Anything for Samsung EVO. I have used Sandisk with my Surface Pro 3 but it kept on disconnecting. I do not have problem with Samsung.

  • I knew it was going to pay off passing up other deals!

  • hmm, this in an adaptor or the SanDisk extreme pro 64gb for $55? use in the D3300 which the extreme pro recommended as the fastest card! this new ultra looks like last gens extreme rebated, awesome!

  • For some reason cashrewards is showing the sale value as $61.55

    • Most cashbacks paid are on ex-gst prices, though not sure if your amount directly matches

  • What an Ass-ome Deall!!
Bought one for my S7 Edge Coming Next Year ;)
Mark my words….. IT WILL HAVE ARSE-SD!!!
Micro SD being brought back by Sam-Sooong!!
    Well done TA!!

Hope your New Role is keeping you busy mate!!

    • know anything bout iphone7?

  • PC Byte and CashRewards: awesome!

  • Awesome work TA!!

  • Coupon code "CASHREWARDS-PCBYTE" is not valid.

      • +1

Apologies - just spotted the limit, I was trying to apply this to 2 cards. Unfortunately I just ordered 2 64GB cards from PCByte a couple of days ago. You reckon they would refund so I could buy these 128GB cards?

        • +3

Never hurts to try. It is Christmas after all :)

          Shoot Francesca a PM…

        • @tightarse:
Hey mate, not sure you can help.
My last Cashrewards deal did not go through (one before did) I followed the exact same script. What to do?

        • @nrg2010: Hi. The best way is to send through a ticket via the 'contact us' link @ Cashrewards. If you get no resolution from that in a few days, PM me your CR email address and a link to the screenshot of your invoice.

        • @tightarse: cheers will do

  • Can we get the full SD?

    • Any reason why you wouldn't just use the adapter? Genuinely curious.

      • sd has better speed i guess

        • +2

Why would the speed be any different

        • @paulaus: size is the compromise

        • +2

          @melfes:
But it is a SD card if you use the adapter.

        • @paulaus: Sure, but i was referring 2 the speed compromise on making microSD smaller than SD. Also capacity on SD is up to 512G by far whereas Micro is 128G i believe

      • Generally speaking more reliable, and possibly faster. Better heat distribution and protection. Im talking Photos here.

  • Would this be good to use as a hdd upgrade for a macbook air that has run out of space? Is there a recommended adapter that will make it sit flush in the body?

  • Well done TA!

  • Cheers TA and PC Byte, grabbed one :)

  • Thanks Op, purcharsed ;-)

  • Again, thanks TA, got 1.

Now all I need is a new phone (5.5 size or under) with 64GB or 128GB on board AND can take either sized mSD cards and I would be happy.

Any chance of a deal on Sandisk Connect or similar?

  • It's hard to find tight holes to stick all the arsecards now.

  • Finally 128gb card. Thank you!

  • Will this work well as a permanent storage on my MacBook Air with this adaptor Or will using third party adaptor limit the speed someway ?
Or does using something like Jetdrive offers distinct edge/superior solution? Thanks in advance.

    • If by permanent storage you mean temporary storage, then yes.
I use a similar adapter on mine - it works like a USB drive.

      • Thanks mate. Although I do intend to leave it permanently there (I.e. as extra space/hard drive alternate). I have been waiting for good discount on Transcend Jetdrive 130 which is specifically intended for this purpose but if this microsd n adaptor combo can do the job it works out to be far cheaper alternative.

        • I also intended mine to live in my MacBook Air - until I was having problems formatting another card for a GoPro. Then I used the adapter in an old Win laptop to try to format it, then it got stuck, and forever in the laptop it remains.
          Tip: don't do this.
Especially don't attempt to use superglue on a piece of plastic to tease it out of your old Win laptop. I've had to disable the SD card reader driver on the laptop so the poor old thing can boot up in less than 10 mins.
Thanks for the cheap eBay link - you reminded me I needed to buy another adapter for the MacBook Air :-)
BTW, I use(d) mine to store big apps like The Sims on small cheap cards, then use the MicroSD cards like tiny floppy discs.

        • @muncan:

So is the solution not to use the MacBook Air-style SD card adapter on a non-MacBook Air? If so, sounds like a good buy to me! Only thing I can see is that the Jetdrive 130 would have a slightly faster read/write speed.. but at more than a third of its price, I wouldn't complain!

        • @badtzmaru56: Ah well not quite 1/3rd as 128GB Jet drive 130 is for $118 delivered via Kogan (local stock) and this will cost $72.70 with adapter. But still it's significant saving of the performance is reasonable. Jet drive is 95/60mbps read/write though. I'm still a little confused but have ordered this anyways

    • It should

Or will using third party adaptor limit the speed someway

Nope, it's just metal contacts, just make sure it fits your MBA.

    • The adaptor in the first ebay link http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Short-Micro-SD-SDHC-TF-Card-Adapt… has a disclaimer in the description advising that the card is unable to be recognised after the laptop goes to sleep (if running bootcamp or parallels). Has anyone experienced that bug before?

    • So the adaptor from eBay eventually arrived and I notice it still sticks out of my rMBP 13" :( Doesn't fully conceal it.

  • Thanks OP! Grabbed one. Just got my new tablet today and this is such perfect timing!

  • bought! grabbed a 64gb extreme pro from their ebay store last week for my phone…probably could have used one of these babies instead, but for now this will go in my 2-in-1.

anyone tested the 128gb version of the card yet? from what i've read, 128gb cards are a lot slower than their 64gb brethren…hopefully this one keeps up!

    • Will test this baby once it arrives, does anyone know what software to use on OS X? CrystalDiskMark seems to be Windows only.

  • PC BYTE and TA Production Part 2….

    http://m.gsmarena.com/samsung_announces_128gb_pro_plus_micro…

    Hopefully a future Ass-Tastic Deal!!

    • Urgh, well this just makes me feel like I jumped the gun with Sandisk, haha.

  • Great deal, struggling to find a use for it so might not buy though…

Also, why isn't the code ByteAss or something… =P

  • Hi, would this be good for my new shiny Nvidia Shield TV?

  • Please TA Can we have a deal on any 64gb microsd Samsung or Sandisk ultra.
    Thanks for this one

  • recommend to use this on go pro?

  • Thanks, bought one.

    Will it arrive before Xmas?

  • Just ordered, doesn't yet show ETA.

Curiously, My $69 Paypal receipt show tax of $7.45 which implies a price of $81.95 ie original price before the promo code discount.

  • OZBargain from now on should be known as TABargain

Purchased mate, superb deal as usual, can't resist these 128GB mSD's

      • UPDATE -
        Client
Why is your Sandisk Ultra Micro SD 128GB Memory Card so expensive?
        Nadia
The online price is the current competitive price. If you have seen the same product at a cheaper price, please send through the seller's details and we'll see if their offer meets our price matching policy.
That is a Class 10 Memory card they are usually on the expensive side

  • Still hasnt shown up on my profile on cashrewards….

  • Anyone with a usb 3.0 card reader had a chance to speed test this card yet?

    • There's a link to a user review of the 64GB version in the post.

      • Yes, I know. I am asking for speed tests of THIS card (the 128gb). (Cards of different capacity from the same range can have significantly different speeds.)
