50% off Store Wide @ Dungeon Crawl

1181
DCXMAS50

50% storewide at Dungeon Crawl. They have been having some promotions lately so stock levels are low, but you might find something you want. There's free postage, too!
Hurry! Stock is clearing out fast!

EDIT: The site seems to be updating with new games, too. So keep refreshing. I've noticed that PS4 games are being added often.
EDIT 2: Seems as if they aren't adding new games anymore. They were randomly doing it when the sale started, but hey haven't done so in a while now. Possible they might add stock later.

They don't seem to have any of the new games despite the images in the background.

Was looking forward to Just Cause 3 or Rainbow Six siege

Sold out… probably not even from the 50% but the 25% off.

  • Snagged eurotrucksimgold $5, hopefully more to come :) F5 F5 F5

  • Been refreshing for over an hour, I think you can safely remove the 'new games being added'.

    • Will do. Thank you.

  • +3

This seems a lot like a comapny going broke, increasing discount value over time until all stock is sold to raise maximum cash to pay creditors.

    • They've got 277k (which is only a portion of total ebay sales) feedback on ebay as well as online sales. If they sell that much games and still going broke that's ridiculous.

Edit: but you do have a point, a lot of their games are being sold for $1-3

    • Possible. From what I remembered, they used to always stock the latest games.

Seems like the store is empty now.

They used to also have a retail store in the city. Now they are online only.

    • Yeah, they don't have anymore 3DS or PS Vita games.

      • They had heaps at the start of the sale 2 weeks ago, I reckon they removed most of them.

    No game left !!

  • I wonder what titles i missed out on im sure i see this email pretty much same time as most thinking wow get a few good things here half price to include accessories but got not much of anything.
Yes did see a few titles for xbox one some not bad price some im sure could be had for less elsewhere and some i already got.
But kept going through list, comparing prices with other places and each time less and less was coming up.
Ended up getting game of thrones probably crap but was only 19.95 compared to 40 and also double that in some places and looks like it just came oot a couple of weeks ago.

This is a response I got from them asking about their stock levels:
Our stock levels are low as we tend to hold off on restocks until after Christmas once we enter in the December month. The reason for this, is Jan is a very quiet month for us, and it is risky for us to hold excessive stock in the quieter months. We did try Boxing Day sales, but being a smaller retailer, we found that our sales were eclipsed by the big retail promotions, so they were often ineffective. I hope this has answered your questions - if you have any more please let us know!

    • Restock on their website, not the stock held on hand or drop shipped…

  • Going out of business sale?

    • no… Read a few posts above yours, star64 comment.

      • Appears I was right, seemed like some shifty business practices toward the end there despite clearly knowing the game was up, glad I didn't get caught by their listings and I hope people either can charge back on their CC or get their items.

  • Great deal. I bought Tales of Zestiria on PS3 for $25. I was planning to get the PS4 version from ozgameshop for $50, but I couldn't say no to this one for half the cost.

  • Removed my vote. It's a "bait and switch" sale. All the non clearance items have been removed from the website prior.

    • Their site is shifty.. Can't even find any normal Xbox One non "sale" games..

  • -6

NONE for VITA and almost for 3DS for anyone interested.
Note: Minus purely to Dungeon Crawl's stock issue.

OPs great effort is a "PLUS"

  • hmm yep next to no PS4 games….

  • +1

    They're still putting up a few games….

Farming simulator 15 gold for $15 hfhf will run out. 2 left in stock, ebay is a good indicator :)

Edit: it's gone, it was only just put up in spite of DC's message.

  • still unable to purchase xbox live whenever they have a 'sale'
and apparently they have no xbox one or ps4 games for sale. Right…

    pft

    • I got my XBOX gold from cdkeys for $30. Can't remember if that was AUD or USD but it redeemed fine.

      • yeah same here. was hoping to pick it up from these guys for a mate. guess ill just head back to cdkeys ;)

  • Good work to those that got a bargain, perhaps next time. Thanks OP for the post.

  • I keep getting a PayPal error on their checkout page. Any ideas? Tried different browsers, same problem.

    • Sold out maybe?

      • Maybe. It keeps letting me add it though. Strange.

  • So are they going out of business? Wouldnt be surprising since our dollar sucks.

    • +2

      I hope not. I made a pre-order for Mighty 9 for February 2016. :/

    • No, just clearing old stock pretty much.

    • Apparently their physical store closed down.

      • Their physical store closed down years ago.

      • That store closed down years ago.

lol, appropriate oz bargain profile pic.

    • i aint black

  • Yeah there's (profanity) all left there now. If they are going out of business (I'd wager they're not) it wouldn't be surprising considering their physical store closed down (which I went into before it did and was alright I guess) a while ago.

  • Literally nothing worth buying

  • I got excited when I saw they had a board game section. Board games are expensive in Australia!
"4 Results in All Board Games" and they're all terrible.
And then I looked around the rest of the site, and it's mostly the same all over. I wonder what might have been there if I'd seen this sooner…

    • For 50% there was Amiibos, lots of board games like different editions of Monopoly, Risk, Trivial Pursuit etc., and quite a lot of decent recent titles normally $50+ for about $25

  • +1

Grabbed the Mass Effect Trilogy for $24.95 on 360.

  • +2

Yup they took most things that are worth getting offline.

LOL they are doing it the Dick's way.

  • +1

Some things wrong there are literally nothing left on the website for sale.

  • +5

Regarding these Dick Smith comments, I think it's a bit unfair, I bought a heap of kewl stuff when it was 25% off (Tomb Raider 2, Assassins Creed Syndicate, Witcher 3) for Xbox One. The list of stuff was getting shorter and shorter in direct correlation to the number of happy comments. So when they have 50% off, of course it's just crap left. They are clearly just looking to empty there shelves.

  • Got my order cancelled by them…:(

    • what did you miss? :(

      • Bloodborne GOTY, F…F…F… them. I was so anticipated for the game to arrived so I can game on this holiday.

    • Sorry to hear that happen. One of my orders from a previous deal was also cancelled last night. Very frustrating as it was meant to be a present for someone.

    • Common issue of overselling and mismanagement of inventory. They did the ebay thing with their own store sales to maximise the opportunity to sell but since stock is represented in two places there's always the highly likelihood of screwing up somewhere.

      • Yep… if you buy something from their normal online store, it doesn't update on ebay until like half an hour later.

Some of my games have shipped while some haven't even though I ordered all yesterday.

  • My ebay order just got cancelled, along with this message:
Sorry to advise that as our Xmas sale has exceeded all expectations, we are out of stock of this item and cannot send it to you.
So we'll send you a refund via Paypal shortly, along with an email from eBay to cancel the sale - please accept the cancellation.
Once again, our sincere apologies and we trust we will still receive your positive feedback for our prompt and professional response.

Funny, as with ebay if it was out of stock I would not have been able to buy it right?

    • They think they they can still ask for (demand?) positive feedback after doing that? I hope you leave negative feedback. I would.

      • Why? All retailers will have this problem if they have low stock.

        • -2

That's not the buyers fault. Why would anyone leave positive feedback for a seller who cancels their order and says they can't have what they paid for?

        • -1

@seanneko: Because that's not what neg feedback are for and you're essentially screwing a retailer over something they have no control over despite you not even losing out in the first place?

        • @shot: I have to disagree with you, retailer do have control over their stock. On their ebay account (retailer account) they have to input the exact amount of stock they have on hand. Even if they sale the same product over two channels (ebay and own website) they could easily divide their stock between those two. Say if you have 10, you could assign 6 to ebay and 4 to your website, just depends on where has higher traffic. So yeah, they deserved negative feedback. I don't think it's fair for them to cancel your order after they have taken your money, since many retailer won't let you refunds because of change of minds or sometimes if they do they charge you for stocking fees like 30%.
You can't really say that we are not even losing out in the first place, say for example, during the last ebay 25% sale, you are going to buy say PS4 console, you could either get it from Good Guys or Dick, they both same price and you pick one of them and apply the ebay coupon for 25% off. And the sale ended and how piss you are if they cancel your purchase after that, saying they don't have stock, and you swear you could went on to the other retailer the day before and they will have the stock?
It actually happens to me, during the spend $200 get $100 ebay promo. I bought $130 shoe and some other stuff $90. After few days the shoes seller write back to me saying "unfortunately they were running out the stock" and offered me refunds, so screw them, caused then I won't even qualified for the spend $100 get $50, since the other purchase is only $90. So that I have to pick something else.
Bottom line, retailer that don't have good control over their stock levels do not deserved anything. For god sake this their occupation, what they do for living, procuring stuff, managing their stock and resell it for a profit. Stock control is a basic requirement as a retailer.
Sorry for the long reply. Nothing personal against you, shot, just pissed off with dungeon crawl.

        • @Jackfruit: Dungeon Crawl didn't have any stock mismanagement in any of the eBay sales they were in. Only due to their 25% and 50% off sales in the past couple of days did they have problems since purchases through their online site (dungeoncrawl.com.au) couldn't be updated instantly onto the ebay stock levels. They did input the correct number of copies available onto eBay but the stock levels on ebay couldn't be updated instantly as with any other retailer on ebay. The only difference is that during the eBay sales, retailers like DSE and TGG didn't get sales on their online stores but on ebay whereas it was the complete opposite from Dungeon Crawl which caused a different effect since one could be controlled and the other not.

All retailers are suffering from the online stock to ebay quantity problem so dont throw DC into this, if anything they have better stock management than other retailers. Their ebay stock quantities were correct but they take time to update.

That's why I don't feel it's worthy to neg a seller of something they have no control over. You said that retailers can split their stock up but this is inefficient and likely to cause further mismanagement issues.

I have no problem with you leaving neg feedback but I don't think it's fair to throw retailers under the bus for something in my opinion, is beyond their control

        • @shot: The problem is my order is from their own website which they have 100% control. If they couldn't handle sales from both ebay and own website, my advice is don't, just pick one, from their website or ebay. Nothing worse for a business to make promise they can't deliver. In business, if something beyond your control you should work to eliminate it. When a retailer running a promo, they should have anticipate a sharp increase in sales, so really this promo is not an excuse for their stock problem.
I assume this is your personal opinion and you have no affiliation to dungeon crawl. Opinion being opinion, my opinion is, this is stock mismanagement, plain and simple, with a number of people have their order cancelled.
Few years ago TGG also did a clearance on all their games, I remembered a huge number of ozbargainers also have they order cancelled. This is also due to their stock allocation between stores and website. However, TGG management took the blames, they didn't blamed the overwhelming response, as this is what they expected. They gave us refunds and vouchers equal or greater than the refunded value, in my case I received $40 voucher got $25 order refunded, have couple delivered straight away, 1 or 2 back ordered.
So stock problem is not something you should put as beyond their control. Beyond their control probably World War 3, zombie apocalypse, end of the world kind of tsunami, and probably alien invasion. Stock problem and stock allocation should high on their lists as a retailer.
Therefore, I don't accept any of their excuse, taking money and issuing a receipt is a binding contract that they as a seller must fulfill. I don't care if they have to run to JB or EB games to buys it in full price and send it to me, as long as I received it.
If they couldn't handle simplest sale/promo, perhaps retailing is not suited for them, while their store now empty, probably they should change occupation.

        • @shot: Oh… I should be grateful receiving my refunds. Don't worry about my comments, shot, turn out they bankrupt.

        • @Jackfruit: Ok, i was just statig my personal opinion.

DC has too many sales to be bankrupt, so I assume the other sectors owned by the parent company has failed. The two other shops owned by the3 company that owns DC also have nothing sold on their website.

        • @shot: Yeah…regardless what happens to my order, I hope the workers are looked after, it's sucks being so close to Xmas and all. Well, Merry Xmas to you if you celebrate, if not then happy holiday.

        • @Jackfruit: You too :)

    • Their ebay stock levels don't update instantly. If you buy something from their online store it takes like 30 mins to update on ebay.

  • Not an ebay issue. I bought a F1 2015 XBONE game on their site and got same message and Paypal refund. Shame on you Dungeon Crawl!

    • I can second that, my order also got cancelled and it wasn't made via ebay. Poor management really.

      • Maybe they're doing it the extremely fair way. I.e. comparing orders and seeing which one was ordered first?

  • Anyone who ordered Euro Truck Simulator 2 Gold would have got thee wrong item (the older version w/o '2')

    • +1

Don't bother with the store rep, head to paypal and lodge a complaint. I've so far received a refund after escalating my dispute.

  • Oh no :(

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/226741

My pre-order was paid with PayPal, hoping to get a refund.

    • Wow! Not really suprised though with the website becoming an empty shell. 2 of my games from the 25% off code turned up today from them and the one from the 50% off was shipped yesterday so hopefully everyone else gets the games they ordered

Lol, I bought 2 copies of the final fantasy xiv expantion, received one factory sealed cd and another which wasn't sealed and wrapped in foam stuff. Had a note on the outside saying basically "We were worried it might be damaged so we opened it to check for you, it is unused blah blah" opened it up and they had left the return note in it from the previous customer XD

As long as it works I don't really care for the price I paid, but somewhat amusing.

  • Got PS4 Dragon Quest & Evolve for $60 in the 25% off and arrived today, very quick delivery

    Hey guys,

No doubt most have heard we are no in Voluntary Administration. (Today is my last day personally :S)

I have a post here that answers most of the common questions: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/226741

In regards to a couple of thread specific questions here:

    'Order cancellations'

Our inventory management system went bonkers due to the increased traffic and sales. The biggest issue from this is that inventory updates slowed down, meaning eBay listings weren't pulled by our software, or we sold past our actual inventory limit. We even did a stocktake last week to keep things accurate and this still happened. This isn't an excuse or a request for forgiveness - simply an answer to the questions you understandably have.

Normally we would not be so blunt as 'Sorry no stock, here is a refund'. But due to the VA, we no longer have the luxury of other options eg replacements, waiting for more stock to arrive. We also, wanted to process them immediately while we still had the ability to do so by the appointed Administration.

We are on a skeleton crew so time was limited - for this reason the priority was refund, then email notification. It meant it took a few days for people to be informed, even though the refund was processed quickly - we completely understand this is a massive pain this close to Christmas as some orders were presents and we feel terrible some customers weren't informed sooner - we just really wanted to make sure people were not out of pocket financially.

'Where is all the good stock?'

Well technically this sold earlier in the month. As we have said on some previous post no restocks were happening. That means the better stuff was lapped up earlier in the month. (AC syndicate and BO3 for $37 tends to mean stock goes quickly…). Sunday was really the dregs of our inventory (although still some good stuff there like Rocksmith) so obviously you were going to be disappointed if you were hoping to grab Just Cause 3 at 50% off (That sold out on pre orders unfortunately)

Apologies for any confusion over the Xbox Live codes - that was an old banner that hasn't been updated. All memberships sold out earlier on - I believe the last codes sold on our first 25% off offer.

Again, as stated on other listings, our search function on the site has been playing up for some time and showing out of stock items. (thus the blank screen when you click on it). I can confirm that nothing was being pulled to avoid being part of the offer - Admin wanted EVERYTHING GONE, so pulling things for the sake of 'ugh don't want this getting bought at 50% off' would completely defeat that objective.
As our last day is literally today, it also really eliminates the whole 'they will restock it later at a higher price' theory too.

Also confused by the 'they are adding more stock' as that certainly wasn't happening. (No one was working Sunday, and all emails were scheduled Friday). My guess it that some items were being added by our system that were for orders that were check out and not paid for.

Finally - for those that encountered the technical issues we are sorry about that. Again, nothing sinister at play here, just a shitty back end that went bonkers from all the traffic. If we were still trading we definitely would have done more about it.

Anyway, obviously still some criticisms to this I know, and rightfully so - I just wanted to give you guys some answers. Most of you have been major good sports with us all during this, and have given us some wonderful support over the years and deserved some explanations.

All the best for 2016 and Merry Christmas to you all.

(PS Probably the last you will hear from DC on oz bargain, so best to direct questions via our email or to the Administration)

    • I took the last one of Halo V collector's edition from eBay but today I got the refund with reason: sold out

  • Got AC Syndicate in the mail today, surprisingly quick delivery
