  • +1

hope they are nice jelly beans!

  • +2

Poster have to say clearly on the title:

Register to receive 'SPAM' and you will get free Jelly Beans

This is taken from the website:

Send Me is a service provided by Australia Post that enables you to select free samples, offers or information from advertisers via an SMS sent from your mobile phone or via this website.

  • +3

don't SPAM me - I'll buy my own 50c jelly beans!

  • If this is the feed back to a freebie . This is the last one I am going to post.

    • +1

    • +6

      lol. cheer up princess.

  • +2

There is nothing preventing you from entering fake details (apart from the physical address for delivery), and you need to opt-in to receive future offers. (You can also unsubscribe immediately.)

  • +1

"Simply SMS JB to 19 11 00" - nasty Australia Post. no mention of SMS costs, which are required when its more than a standard SMS (19xx numbers aren't standard charge)

Also more relative to this bargain - "(Offer limited to first 1000 valid orders.)"

    • +1

      http://sendme.auspost.com.au/how-does-sendme-work.html

"SMS - by texting the advertised "code word" to 19 11 00 (standard SMS charges apply)"
apparently standard sms charges apply to this number.

i'll give it a shot, but i'm just gonna give them my email address.

      http://sendme.auspost.com.au/faq.html#cost

      What does it cost?

There are no costs to register for Send Me. There are no costs to receive instant notifications of free offers as they become available from Send Me. Samples, offers and information packs are provided "free" by third party advertisers. SMSs to 19 11 00 cost 55 cents.

    • From My Vodafone's "premium text finder":

      Premium Number: 191100
      Service Provider: Touchpoint
Campaign name: Australia Post Sampling Programme
      Campaign type: Other
      Campaign start Date: 13/11/2009 00:00
      Campaign end Date: 31/12/2099 23:59
Campaign Description: Txt a key word and then get a reply asking to txt in name and address. From here they can go onto register on a website.

You pay for sending a TXT message to this service: $0.55
You pay for receiving a TXT message from this service(*): $0.00

So according to this, by texting, you have to send 2 texts totalling $1.10. You then have to register on the website anyway!!!

first create a new email address, second, give fake name and all details except your valid address.
    then register this offer.
you don't have to give your mobile phone number.

next time you got similar offer, you can use your fake email address

    • you could do that or you COULD GIVE THEM THE ADDRESS Of someone you hate. muahahahh!

  • +4

1).create a fake email 2).say your name is Mr G Raff 3).give them the address of the Melbourne Zoo :)

  • I was hoping for scales again. Jelly Beans are better than nothing, positive from me :)

  • +5

This post reminded me of the free scales they had a while back (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/15456).

    • +3

    • I recieved it.

  • Signed up online, received an SMS from a non-premium number 0421265641, at least the SMS offers are not premium.

  • +4

If Auspost had delivered on the Scales promise, we could weigh the jellybeans.
Auspost, the Dell of postal services.

    • I got my scale. Guess you were just a bit too slow.

      • My scales died after just 4-5 uses :(

  • Dispatch Date: 28/02/2010
    Expected Delivery Date: 4/03/2010

It is an interesting concept and if it takes off you will all be scrambling to join. Companies will advertise offers and if you are interested you can go online or send an sms and they will already have your address details to send you the "advertising" or the sample.

I joined not for the jelly beans but to see what the program will be like. There is no mention that they will spam your mobile with offers. It says that you can request offers via sms after you see the advertising. I will be requesting the samples via the website rather than via sms. I just don't trust the whole sms thing.

    Let's see how it goes!

  • EXPIRED

  • it wasnt expired when i tried it earlier today

  • I went to the site - its definitely expired now

  • Offer limited to first 1000. Now expired.

  • anyone get them?? i havent

  • i got mine today woohooo! orange ones are the best!

    • How big is the bag?

  • +2

Just got mine, the bag is about the size of a credit card.

    • I don't feel that bad about missing out then ;-)
